I’ve been to Wolfies three times so far and this review is a summary based on those three experiences. First of all, this is not a fine dining restaurant. This is a casual culinary adventure2. The staff(in and out of the kithcen) take their ingredients seriously.

As I write this I am savoring one of the last slices of Wolfies’ pizza that I will ever eat. This will be both a review and a tribute to a great little pizzeria. Always heard pretty good things about the place but hadn’t had a chance to check it out myself. I was disappointed when news broke that it would be closing down. So I made plans and invited a friend out to dinner this past Saturday for our first/last visit. I loved the cozy dimly lit dining room and how the décor, furniture & cabinetry all added to the rustic feel of the space. We ordered a round of drinks and an appetizer to start. I had the Garden of Eden which was a smooth gin based cocktail with pomegranate juice, fig syrup & amaro nonino. The Meatballs were a great app to share for two. The veal, pork & brisket mix was a nice blend of flavors. In an effort to maximize the experience we ordered an entrée each and also decided to split a 18″ Il Bello Maiale. There was a fig vinaigrette on the pizza that complemented the smoked pork belly & roasted peppers really well. The crust was thicker than traditional pizzas, but it’s quality was good so I didn’t mind. We were of course expecting leftovers but the portions on my friends Eggplant Parmesan and my Lasagna were huge. Being a fan of wetter Lasagna’s the generous amount of cheese and sauce really hit the spot. The meal left a good enough impression that I came back again for dinner on Sunday. This time I tried the garlic knots with pig butter which were amazing. Once again the fresh dough really shines through. I was also excited to taste the hand made pappardelle in the Pasta Bolognese. The red wine ragù was savory and the pasta had terrific bite to it. I couldn’t resist ordering one last pie to go, just to sample the house cured spicy coppa & bresaola. I thoroughly enjoyed everything I was able to squeeze into my two visits. Again sad to see the place go, since it’s right in my new hood. But the staff did mention that the owners were debating carrying over some of the menu items. So even though Wolfies is gone, maybe we’ll see some iteration of the namesake pizzas and/or dishes pop up at White Wolf Café.

This is my favorite dinner restaurant in Orlando. Straight up. I LOVE that I can always predict which waiter is working and that every other time I go the chef comes out to check on us. The pizzas are AMAZING and I almost always try the special because it never fails to knock my socks off. Their cured meats… TODIEFOR. The only detractor is that I wouldn’t go with a large party because their staff is small. Go go go.

After being terribly disappointed by another local pizza restaurant, we decided to try Pizzamia. David provided excellent service and the pizza was really packed with flavor! We will definitely be returning in the near future.

Wolfies is a great neighborhood pizza place. You can get fancy and order pasta, but the pizza is where it’s at. They have some signature recipes named after local neighborhoods but you can also create your own – and they’ll do different toppings on each half for you and your disagreeable date! I recommend the Ivanhoe: Tomato, mozzarella, sausage, brie & sweet peppers – so good! The cocktails are amazing. The caesar salad is great. They have a really great meat and cheese plate too. The service can be hit or miss — I’ve ALWAYS had great service, except for that one time where we stood at the door waiting for 10 minutes to be greeted and sat, so we ended up leaving. But I’ve never had a bad experience like some other reviewers described. I also haven’t been when it was crowded either though.

I booked this as a last minute valentines day choice and after reading recent reviews I thought I made a poor decision. Fortunately I wasn’t disappointed. I have been to Wolfies 4 – 5 times throughout some of the many chef/server/management changes. While the service at times has been awkward, we have pretty much always had a good experience here. Yes the menu has changed a bit and lost some of its umpf. But what remains on the menu is good. I love their salads(big enough to share) and their pizzas have a great crust to cheese ratio. Some favorites from our dinner was my starter cocktail, Mediterranean Mule, and the tiramisu was amazing. I actually wasn’t planning on eating more than a bite or two of my husband’s tiramisu but once I got a taste of the creamy goodness I couldn’t stop eating it. As always I love the ambiance of the place. I love the old world/antique décor and the jazzy spotify station they chose was«spot» on for a great dining experience. Thanks Wolfies for coming through on Valentines Day!

Don’t let the name fool you — this place is a fabulous brunch spot! $ 3 mimosas & bloody Mary’s. The menu is amazing — and eggs Benedict is ridiculously good. Also a bonus — get the biscuits and gravy. Share with someone because they’re super rich. Large groups might be an issue .they took a lot longer for food to 3 of our table. The rating I gave is just based on that.

It actually pains me to write this review. Chris and I were SUCH fans of Wolfies. We thought we had found our go to pizza place after our first go-to-pizza place went to shambles due to management changes. Last night, for some reason, I had a premonition that getting Wolfie’s was not going to be a good idea. Boy, was my gut right. From the minute we called for delivery, everything was chaotic. It had been about 3 weeks since we last indulged in Wolfies. Usually, whoever answers the phone greets pleasantly. Last night, however, my husband called and the woman on the other line was frantic and seemed to not know what was going on. We called to get delivery and the woman stated it would be a $ 3 surcharge. My husband then asked if they could add that to the bill and pay over the phone. The lady on the other line stated«Oh no, honey. You have to come get it. We don’t do delivery anymore.» We looked on the website which clearly stated that delivery was available. Color us SO confused. $ 3 surcharge for what then? Fine. We’ll come pick it up. When the pizza finally makes it way back home my husband gives me the look of «its on the list» aka«the list of places we won’t go back to.» We always recommended Wolfies to anyone who would ask what our favorite pizza place was. The crust was rustic. You know… the type of crust that is flaky and seems like its been baking in a brick oven for hours? NOTICEABLE difference in last nights pizza. The crust looked undercooked and as soon as we picked it up… it was limp. The one thing I will say hasn’t changed are the still delicious knots and pig butter. If you’re looking for some good knots… this is still a favorite. Sad to say that another amazing pizza place bites the dust.

Service: marginal and inattentive Salad: plain and uncreative Pizza: Oh the pizza, maybe the best I’ve ever had? Thin crisp crust, cooked evenly, perfect balance of sauce and topping… It was nearly perfect. Get take out and enjoy!

I’ve been here many times &WOULD call it one of Orlando’s «gems.» I brought a group of 10 in for my birthday expecting the same great food and service I was used to but was severely disappointed. Around late August the joint got a new chef, changed their menu and entire staff. The staff is rude and constantly puts out incorrect food. On my birthday they messed up our pizzas and placed blame on me and my guests were not pleased. I tried the place again tonight but same thing: we ordered the scallops which came out incorrect & the server argued with me that there was no pork on my plate when there was. My boyfriend ordered the ribeye medium and it came out well done. Horrible service and staff who do not care about order time or guest retention. Sadly disappointed and will not be back. Will remember the good days.

So far we’ve been to Wolfies twice. The first time was absolutely amazing with a server who made for an upscale experience. Our server explained the menu and provided excellent service. The food was great and really made for a novelty pizza experience. We raved about the place and couldn’t wait to return. Then last Saturday, we returned with family from out of town and had a horrible experience. The server seemed like she would be a better fit for Denny’s. After a long wait, she finally took our drink order, and she never explained the menu or the homemade options. Once our beers finally came, she popped the caps right on our table and brought the wrong beers to two of our guests. We didn’t complain. Then, although we ordered two different pizzas, both came exactly alike. When we complained, the server blamed us for the problem(although what she blamed us for was not the only incorrect ingredient on the pizza), and said she would talk to her manager. We are quite sure she never did. In addition, the food quality had declined as well. It no longer seemed like a special pizza. It was just typical. So, we give the place a 3. A five for the first time and a 1 for the second.

I don’t give 5 stars often but when I do, it means I’d return to this place in a heart beat! Intimate, cozy décor, Italian themed, top notch service staff, oh yes, and some of the best pizza I’ve ever had! The restaurant/atmosphere: This is a change from tourist stops and feels more like local Orlando. Off any main road like I-Drive, this is worth the GPS guiding you to. We arrived late to a vacant restaurant close to closing time, but the server didn’t hesitate to get us seated and make us feel welcomed. Equipped with plenty of wine, beer, and cocktails the drink menu offered ample choices as did the dinner menu. Hard not to share a pizza when you can customize the toppings half and & half, but I must note, entrees such as ravioli were hard to pass up and fairly priced. The food/drinks: We shared a large pizza($ 20) with a combination of zucchini, spinach, basil and spicy coppa(ham) on his side topped with smoked mozzarella cheese… OMG, the thin crust, delicious toppings… I want more NOW! Per our server, we ordered garlic knots with house made alfredo sauce. If you get nothing else, get the garlic knots($ 8/for 10). Light and airy, freshly made with lots of garlic and a huge portion size, they are worth the indulgence! I can’t rave enough of the house made alfredo sauce — it was the best combination of cheese and cream with herbs and pepper. It didn’t feel terribly heavy either; a rarity for this type of sauce in most restaurants. My glass of wine was $ 8; his beer $ 6. The service: Our server was so pleasant, I wish I remembered her name! She was friendly and attentive(yes, we were the only table, but still). She gave recommendations and always had a smile. I left feeling attended to and full with delicious food — worth going back again!

Almost everything on the menu including all of the breads, pasta, dough, salumi, and most of the cheeses are made in house and what other ingredients they do use are sourced locally and sustainably when available. Chef AJ Haines even cures all of his meats and cheeses in house, so don’t ask for boring old pepperoni on your pizza. All sausages and charcuterie are aged and seasoned in a charcuterie drying cabinet that is on display in the dining room. We started our tasting adventure with a skewer of Compressed Melon topped with Prosciutto, Fried Basil and Blue Cheese. A perfect savory and sweet treat to whet our appetites. Our next dish was a Mini Charcuterie Plate of Bresaola, Filleto, House Cured Provolone with a baguette and a side of pig butter. The flavor from the house cured meats and cheese was superb. Wolfies is a very unique place with lots of great food and a great atmosphere.

Mmmmm! Got to try Wolfies out for lunch yesterday and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised! I usually feel sickly full after an Italian lunch, but Wolfies had fabulous, fresh options with no grease in sight! I’d describe the interior as rustic, Italian eclectic. This goes with the White Wolf Café vibe, but has a lot of authentic Italian charm. When we arrived the restaurant was empty but people did start to come in after 12. The service was great! I hope this was just a slow day because this place deserves to be packed for lunch! I started with a half portions of the arugula salad, but soon realized that this could have been my full lunch! I can’t imagine how big the full portion is! It was delicious– filled with a rainbow of tomatoes and grated parm. I will say that it was pretty salty– and that’s coming from a girl that loves her salt! We then went ahead and ordered the Colonial pizza. The small size was perfect for sharing! I’m not normally a fan of blue cheese, but the way everything was put together really highlighted the flavors and I found myself hurrying towards the next bite! Another great addition is the apple slices on this pizza. I thought that they would be large, cumbersome slices laid out on top of the pizza for show, but they were actually cut up in bite-sized pieces and baked right into the pizza(under the cheese!). It didn’t look impressive, but it was MUCH better this way! I’ll definitely be back to try their dinner selection!

There’s a lot to love here. I was a big fan of the garlic knots, but then it’s hard for me NOT to enjoy garlic knots. That’s not to take anything away from theirs though, they were really good. The pizza was fantastic. Lots of interesting options to try, and the pizza wasn’t too heavy on the cheese(or grease) so it allowed much of the flavor of the toppings to shine through. It’s a small, intimate-but-comfortable dining area with a unique look. It was a packed house when we arrived for dinner, and with the tables necessarily so close together, it was interesting to watch the conversations expand beyond the tables they started at(two-person table #1 mentions«back in Portland», adjacent table #2 chimes in, «Did you say Portland? We lived there for 15 years! and the conversation between the tables continues, etc.). It happened to us, too, when another couple sat down next to our table. It’s easy to talk to people when your tables are so close that you could be in the same party and no one would know the difference. The drink menu is really nice as well, high quality cocktails well above and beyond the unimaginative crap that passes for«specialty cocktails» in most places. I noticed that the drink menu isn’t available on the website, I’m not sure if it’s because it changes too often, or if they didn’t think it was necessary. Either way, I hope they reconsider — it’s something to be proud of, and you should be showing it off at every opportunity. So to wrap it up with one of the most common Unilocal clichés(just under the phrase«hands down»), «I can’t wait to come back!»

I was invited back to Wolfie’s by the Executive Chef, Jason Schofield, for dinner and he did not disappoint. The last time I went to Wolfie’s, he was out of the country and I could tell a big difference this time around with him tending to the kitchen. We started off with their meatball appetizer, which were hands down the best meatballs I have ever had. Perfectly browned on the outside, moist on the inside and the red sauce they come in was the perfect compliment. Unfortunately, we devoured them in a matter of minutes before I could remember to take a picture of the beautiful dish, so instead there’s one of our empty plate. I then moved on to a small caesar salad, which had a wonderful creamy caesar dressing on it and fresh grated parmesan. When it came time for the entrée, we made our own pizza. Mozzarella, buffalo mozzarella, parmesan, italian sausage and prosciutto. The crust is thin and on the crispy side, which is the way I like it. It holds up really well and doesn’t get soggy from the sauce and cheeses. I’m very picky when it comes to prosciutto, and they have some of the best. I believe they cure their own meats here and the prosciutto is not fatty and has a really great flavor. I don’t think you could go wrong with any of their pizzas. We ended our meal with some dessert. I had the tiramisu and my friend had the olive oil gelato with a rosemary, thyme and lemon cookie crisp on the top. The tiramisu was very light and delicate with no ingredient overpowering the other, it was pure heaven. I got to try some of the olive oil gelato which was quite tasty as well. It was very interesting, but in a good way. It was light in flavor with a creamy texture. The cookie was a great compliment. I would recommend this place to anyone and will definitely be returning.

Pizzatime! New lovely pizza spot in Ivanhoe Village from the much loved White Wolf Café. It’s a hop away from there as well, a few doors down. It has the same antique setting with much personality. Love the ambiance and large wood tables and booths. It’s a more intimate setting with a few tables. Dine in for lunch or dinner and they deliver now! This may be my new go-to delivery pizza spot when I move into College Park a few streets over. It is not busy during lunch yet so you can stop in here and get seated quickly. I started with the Arugula Salad — Cherry heirloom tomatoes, fresh Parmigiana Regianno, lemon, olive oil & salt & pepper. It was delicious, fresh and started the meal off perfect. I got a half of a serving and it was a good size, check out the pic. We split the The Mills specialty pizza –Tomato, mozzarella, sausage, mushroom, olives & sweet peppers. At first I didn’t want olives because I assumed they were black as that is popular at other pizza spots but this is a fresh spot so they let me know they were marinated Kalamata olives… I kept them and they were literally the highlight of the pizza. It added that natural salt flavor the pizza needed. They are thinner pizzas but they don’t skimp on the toppings. It was a little sandy on the bottom but the crust was delicious. Overall, great new pizza spot and I can’t wait to try their fresh pasta! They also have a nice crafty cocktail menu and they all looked delicious so I will be back soon for sure. Check them out!

Got one of the amazon local deals for this place. I made reservations for 9pm on a Friday night for a party of 3. Got there on time but no tables were open. Decided to grab a beer at The Imperial while things slowed down at Wolfies. Headed back an hour later and was seated right away. The servers are very sweet and eager to please. The restaurant is very cozy and dimly lit. There is a very relaxed environment here which makes it easy to lose track of time and just want to stay a while(which I suspect is the reason why the tables were not clearing out as quick as anticipated). My table had the salumi platter which was excellent. The platter comes with cured meats, pickled veggies, olives and bread They cure all their own meats! We also had one of the specialty pizzas that has the dry salted beef and loved that too. However, I did find the pizza was a little too heavily cheesed which made it not as crisp as I prefer. The list of craft cocktails is impressive. I ordered the gin joint and it was phenomenal! Aside from the delicious pizzas, they offer salads, soup, pasta, panini and desserts. This is a great place so please check it out.

The chef here cures his own meats and makes his own cheeses! We’ve gotten to know Chef Jason from his down low dining events he’s held in this space over the years. I’m really glad they turned this great space into Wolfie’s Pizzamia. They have a lot of creative menu toppings and I’m so impressed with all the Italian meats he cures and makes himself. Many of those meats are also toppings in the pizzas. Go with a group, order the Salumi platter a nice salad and a pizza and share all around the table. I know I’ll be going here regularly to try all the creative items.
