Came here with my family. My grandparents have been coming here for years but haven’t been in a while. I had crumb cake because I wasn’t hungry which is really good the corn beef with one of the best my mothers ever had, and my grandparents live there meals to. The crabcakes were excellent. This is coming from someone who travels specificallyto New Orleans to get crabcakes at Oceana. These crabcakes were on par with those wines. Would definitely recommend coming here, they have a small little pickle bar and a variety of bakery goods. Seemingly inconspicuous and could use an update and décor but the food speaks for itself.

We love Pickles! My mother brought us after our move to Florida. It has quickly become one of our favorite restaurants. Delicious, reasonably priced, hot food served by pleasant staff… what more can you ask for? And we love the pickle bar, yum!

I hate pickles but I love this place. Food is always delicious and the waiters are very friendly. This is the only place in Florida where you get a slice of pie or cake that big for such a low price. I have never been disappointed eating here. As close to home cooked as you can get.

A TV ad led us here & it is a gem. Extensive menu with daily sides. The pickle bar is unique and offers a variety of pickles & pickled items. Great service & reasonable prices.

2.5 Stars The biggest redeeming quality of this place is the pickle bar. It comes included with a lot of the entrees, and I loved the variety of pickles they offered: half sour, dill, bread and butter, spicy pickle salad, and more. The rest of the meal was marginal. Fried pickles to start with that had essentially no flavor. For my meal I had half a Greek Salad, and matzah ball soup. DB Pickles apparently subscribes to the school of thought that if you throw feta cheese on shredded lettuce and toss in a couple olives, you can call it «Greek». Sadly, that is not true. The matzah ball soup was okay, even though the ball was a bit denser than I like. Waitress was friendly and efficient, and the bathrooms have a door that opens by swiping your hand in front of it — love! Perfect spot to bring people who are in the mood for bland food.

I have eaten here several times and it is always great. My place of employment gets catering from here all the time also. They have yet to let us down. The staff is excellent and helpful and the quality of the food is fabulous. The desserts are phenomenal!

My wife ordered meatloaf and had to have it taken back because it was overcooked. She had it exchange for a patty melt and it was completely undercooked and bloody. The manager gave her a complementary dessert which was excellent. I had the chicken fried steak and it was good. The clam chowder was also good. This was our first time at the restaurant, however we may give it another chance.

Nice! Hey, it’s not Katz’s, but the pastrami and corned beef were tender, lean and delicious, the rye bread fresh and the pickle bar fun. After reading the reviews, I’m taking a cheesecake back for the office staff. I’ll come back with family.

Great kosher deli favorites. Brisket of beef very good as well as fantastic fries the pickle bar is unique and has a good selection. Don’t miss all the different desserts to top off a good dining experience. Service is pretty good as well.

Nice restaurant with a variety of different food on their menu. They have a pickle bar and numerous deli style sandwiches. And home style dinners as well as Italian meals. They also have a massive selection of homemade cookies and cakes which you can get by the slice or whole.

It is either too far north or too far south. The best deli I’ve ever been to was in Miami Beach, and the second best was in Manhattan. This one could have been in Kansas, if one were to guess from the food. The pickle bar did have OK half-sours, but everything else was unremarkable(and none of them were made in-house). The corned beef was just like what you get at the deli counter! In Indiana! It was from a loaf, just like the ham and turkey in the Cuban sandwich. The third entrée we tried was the fish and chips, and they were tasty but not particularly crispy. The sides were right out of the foodservice tubs. Both the slaw and the macaroni salad were astonishingly sweet. Not what I’m looking for in a slaw or macaroni salad experience. They get their four stars for a couple of reasons: the cheesecake was outstanding and very generous. The perfect cheesecake serving is about ½″ at the outside and it should be filling. Theirs is about 3.5″ and quite yummy. Generous, even. I got mine to go and it will take a while to finish it. It’s a family restaurant that has a really wide ranging menu, and I’m sure they deliver on almost everybody’s expectations. The last reason they get the fourth star was for not having a TV in the dining room. I’d go back again, but not expect it to be a deli. It’s a locally-owned gem of a family restaurant, though. The service was very friendly, even when the kitchen was slow.

My husband took me here for the first time today and what a hidden gem. Not what I expected at all. It’s a sit-down place with quite a large menu. Once the drink is ordered they have a small pickle bar to munch from. We both ordered a deli style sandwich and it was delicious. Their half portion is more than fulfilling and though the fries are a little extra, they’re well worth it. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. They also have a large bakery section for those with a sweet tooth. It all looked very appetizing! Great place! Will definitely be visiting them again.

This is food that is «Good for the soul». My mother loves this place having grown up in NY. It reminds me of a jewish deli /resturaunt. There is a pickel bar that you can go up to as much as you wish while you wait for your food. My usual is the soup and ½ sandwitch. They also have a banquet facility across the parking lot that I have been at when they have parties that you can rent out.

The pickle bar is a bar of pickled vegetables not many types of pickles. Tried the hamburger, tough and bland. French fries are ok. My son got the pot roast plate and it was similar to a buffet type pot roast but nothing to brag about. Will not eat here again.

Pickle bar was neat and tasty. Service was good, but the food was just so so… burger looked good, but not much favor. Wifes wings were just ok… I would rate the food 2 star, but service and place a 3 star

Probably won’t be back … Wasn’t the food that was ok … But listening to the manager yelling at the staff like a drill sergeant made my experience not so enjoyable.

I think this place is way overrated. Normally, if I am not impressed with a place, I usually don’t go back, but unfortunately I decided to give it a second try. The first time I went, I ordered the crab cakes which tasted like they were a frozen food item, fried in old dirty batter. I also ordered the coconut cream pie, which was lacking a crust, & was just 4 inches thick of whipped cream & topping that was way too sweet. The second time I went I figured I couldn’t go wrong with fried pickles as an appetizer from a restaurant named«DB Pickles.» I couldn’t have been more wrong. Again, they tasted like they were fried in dirt, & the chicken on my greek salad tasted like it was frozen, processed meat. The only thing I found good about this place was the service. I definitely will NOT be going back a third time. Shame on me for going twice.

Cafeteria like atmosphere. Good food. I never had a «Rachel» — it was really good. Great bakery items. Nice selection of items for sale as well. Service was fast and courteous. They could be a little more consistent. Been there a few times, service goes up and down, as did quality. Pickle bar is a nice touch — could have been more clean. Over all it was a good experience. They try to do too much … maybe consider a smaller specialized menu.

DB Pickels entered our lives one Thursday afternoon, mere days after a serious car accident. We were on a trip here in Ormond Beach, and had spent the days after the accident sitting on our friends’ couch or sleeping, trying to recover a bit and mend our broken bones. So when we finally felt well enough to go out on our own to have a restaurant lunch, we scoured Unilocal for a quiet place. Our slightly befuddled minds(concussion) could think of nothing but deli food, sandwiches perhaps, comfortable booths, quick service, nothing touristy, and easy parking. We found all that in DB Pickels, and more! The menu is extensive. The food seems like your usual deli food, but every single thing greatly exceeded our expectations in quality, flavor and portion(jesus, those portions could feed a family of bears!!). And though I abhor pickles, my husband was thrilled that such a thing as a pickle bar exists! All you can eat pickles! We valiantly managed to eat our way through a mountain of potato cakes, Rueben sandwich and sausages, and still managed to go home with some grotesquely large cake for our friends(coffee cake and chocolate), at least part of which we ended up eating. Finger-lickin good! We can’t wait for next year’s trip to stay with our friends. We miss DB Pickels already!
