Fruit Shack Smoothies & Yogurt

This place used to be one of my favorites, but lately they have been pretty disappointing. Last couple of times we’ve been there the staff has been very rude and not very attending to their customers. I watched the girl at the counter rolling her eyes as questions were being asked about the menu. The orders are always a hit and miss, all depending on who makes them. Not happy with their customer service at all.

My daughter likes their smoothies and we stop before our walks on the nearby walking paths. Service is always very slow which is why I’m giving it 3 stars.

The smoothies here are so delicious, however, the customer service is seriously lacking! I’m almost grossed out by how often i see the girls are pulling at their shorts, scratching their face or ears, and messing with their hair, and immediately after handling the ingredients for your shake. This is all after you’re waiting for at least 5 minutes before even being acknowledged. This has been my repeated experience at least…

Who doesn’t love a smoothie?! I’ve driven by here so many times and regrettably never stopped in until last week. The staff was friendly and efficient, I will definitely be back to order an acai bowl and test out other flavors soon. I have ordered the Green Monster and Power Lifter. Green Monster is the only green juice on the menu, unless you choose be «create your own smoothie» option. The Power Lifter is a great value, you get a fruit blend with 3 add-​ins (protein, fat burner and energy).

We stopped here with a group of 5 after hiking Romero Pools (our group ran out of water halfway through the hike). It was about an hour till closing so there was only one girl working so it took her a little bit to make our smoothies but it was totally worth it. So delicious! I had a mango smoothie that totally hit the spot ! Our group left happy and rehydrated !!

So happy I found this place. Staff is friendly and there are so many options. I love my smoothies :)

This place just rocks. Everything I’ve tried here has been absolutely delicious and refreshing. My favorite is the Acai Attraction smoothie, The Green Monster smoothie, the Orange Cream smoothie and the Green Tea Freeze but I’ve tried nearly everything on the menu and it never disappoints. Check out their website for the whole menu. I’m glad I live so close to this place!

I like the new optional smoothie «blend ins.» Can’t beat some organic flax in your green monster!

Every day I tell myself that I’m going to make my own smoothie at home and then I end up here.

Its difficult to find a smoothie place in the Old Pueblo but thankfully what we lack in quantity is made up for in the quality of Fruit Shack. The smoothie options are endless from build your own to more fun pre-​defined green smoothies or ones with a tropical flare. I was torn on what ingredients I wanted to put in my smoothie and the lady working let me sample the yogurt addition first.
The shack is cozy but offers a couple of tables inside & out. Don’t pass this lil gem by!

I’ve been looking for a good acai bowl in the Tucson area, and no luck. The fruit shack has the best acai bowl I’ve tried in this area. I love the honey addition! So refreshing with its coconut flakes, strawberry, blueberry, banana, granola and of course acai sorbet!

It is rare for me to be able to enjoy a sweet, creamy smoothie because I have to sub out the frozen yogurt. Usually my smoothies have a texture that isn’t quite as satisfying but not at Smoothie Shack! They have a delicious soy substitute that adds an amazing, decadent sweetness and velvety texture that I’ve missed so dearly in smoothies.
If I could, I would get one of their Go Bananas with Soy every morning. (I also love that they’re open late!)

This is our first visit to the Fruit Shack but it won’t be our last. My wife was in the mood for yogurt. Since the kids are always in the mood for anything that resembles ice cream, we decided to give this place a try. They list all kinds of smoothies, special combinations or make your own. Their basic yogurt flavors are chocolate, vanilla, pomegranete tart, original tart plus a feature flavor. The feature flavor when we were there was french vanilla. They also have sherbet available. The smoothies range from $ 4.00 to $ 5.15 or so.
You pick your flavor and can choose fresh fruit or order one of the combinations listed on the board. You can also add supplements for energy, fat burning, protein, or stress relief. We decided on small bowls of yogurt. The kids choose the chocolate. One added gummy bears, the other added powdered malt. My wife opted for the original tart and it really hit the spot for her. The toppings were no extra charge. While they were fixing our bowls, I noticed that they also carry pretzels, pretzel dogs, veggie smoothies, and something called wheatgrass (superfood). So next time, we may try a pretzel dog with a smoothie. Or get a cone to go.
There is not much sitting inside, one table that seats 3 and a counter that seats 4 or 5. They do have a couple tables outside. We were waited on right away and the girl was really nice when explaining the toppings to the kids. They gave us a punch card so after 10 punches you get a free smoothie or yogurt. Can’t wait to go back!

Very friendly staff in this cozy, happy little place. The smoothies are certainly fresh; there’s a wonderful option to customize their suggested ingredients.
There really isn’t any competition in the area for Fruit Shack.

We never actually got to taste what looked like great smoothies. The sign on the window said «natural sandwiches and salads», so when we didn’t see any on the menu we asked the guy at the counter what was available. He pointed to the cooler with one tiny, sad looking cold sandwich and said that was what was available. Okay, so we’ll just get a smoothie. The guy at the counter thought he was being funny I suppose when he interrupted our conversation about the brats we were cooking for dinner and asked us what time he should be there and what to bring… okay, we laughed. joke over. I then asked if there was any smoothies without sugar as I see that many of them were made with sherbet… which contains lots of sugar. This funny guy told me that «yes, there were 10,000 grams of sugar» in all their smoothies and that if I really wanted added sugar, I could go across the street to Fry’s, buy some sugar and he’d add it to my smoothie. Hey, Mr. Funny, Creepy Guy… maybe next time a customer asks for help with the menu, you could actually help and direct them to what you have available instead of going with a really bad and not at all funny comedy routine.
Needless to say, we went running from the place to the Quiznos next door to get a sandwich and good customer service. We will never set foot in The Fruit Shack ever again.

Yummy Yogurt, I like all the healthy and non-​fat choices ;) I will definitely be going back !!! Nice staff, good service !!! Only thing is I wish they had more flavor options for the yogurt but it’s still good ;)

The Fruit Shack is a relatively new smoothie joint in the area. It’s right in the heart of Oro Valley so it’s well situated for success. The manager, John gets HUGE points for #1 knowing about Unilocal; #2 encouraging me to write a review because he loves the site. We got 3 drinks and were relatively pleased. It’s a smoothie people!

Fruit Shack used to be Keva Juice at the same location. We enjoyed two wonderful smoothies and happy service by two folks that may have been the owners. My husband’s had an orange sherbert base, along with banana and other fruits. Mine had a nonfat yogurt base, and featured pineapple, coconut and banana. We enjoyed wonderfuly tasty drinks and a smattering of understandable brain freeze. This store has easy parking and is closer to First Ave. at the Oracle intersection, next to Starbucks and Papa John’s. Great place for breakfast, lunch, snacks or after dinner delights (which was what we did). They have a few outside tables with umbrellas, so you can enjoy inside or outside. The place is clean and also has a few special diet items (non gluten, non dairy) and I believe they may also have a few sandwiches (verify that if you want that). We had a very positive, pleasant experience.
