I love this winery, very comfortable setting. Friendly and helpful staff and not to mention a wonderful product. This is a must stop for the area

A very accessible and inviting winery for lovers of sweet wines, although dry drinkers may find it a bit lacking. If I had to describe Adams County Winery in one word, I would say it’s «fun.» This is not your snobby, pretentious winery — it’s all about having a good time with their(mostly) sweet wines. It’s obvious from the ample outdoor seating and the rustic comfortable tasting room. Even coming here during the off season there were still a number of people in the tasting room. Our pourer was very knowledgeable on the wines and allowed me and my girlfriend to split our tastings(3 samples for free, 4 – 6 samples for $ 5). If you count the fruit wines(which I didn’t taste), the selection is overwhelmingly sweet, with residual sugar levels above 1%. However, there are some dryer options that are pretty good. For the whites, I liked the Chardonnay Appalachian Moon, a dry chardonnay with a slight french oak taste, and the Reisling, which had a hint of sweet(0.4% residual sugar) and fruity undertones. For the reds, the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Turning Point were highlights, each with their own dark fruit and french oak flavors. If I had to pick, I’ll give it to the Cabernet Sauvignon, which had a smoother fruitier taste. Overall, I wasn’t a huge fan of the wines at Adams County Winery, but I don’t begrudge people who love this place. Fans of sweet and fruit wines will be in Nirvana, while dry drinkers will find at least one or two that will satisfy. It’s a winery for all palates.
