I absolutely love this place. It’s a co-op which translates into lower prices. The selection and quality is way above what you would expect to find in a small, touristy town. Highly recommend and wish we had one in Tulsa, OK.

This is what a grocery store should look like. Large, bright well stocked. The produce department is visually vibrant. The liquor department is outstanding. Walk in coolers, walk in cigar humidors, walk in premium wine cooler. However, the wine selections could be stronger in the«common wine section» as the inventory is fulled with labels you can find anywhere. Nothing unique for the most part.

The day just before our wedding, one of Camdenton’s local florist completely dropped the ball and wrecked my soon-to-be wife’s wedding bouquet! It was already into Saturday evening when we showed up at the Hy-Vee floral department after unsuccessfully trying to find a bouquet close to what she wanted elsewhere. Hy-Vee’s florist, Tammy(I believe), was actually on her way out for the evening, but took the time to help us out in a time of need. She modified a display bouquet until it was just perfect. Thank you very much for saving the day for us, Tammy!

Hyvee is very consistent regardless where you are at. That is reassuring compared to Wal-Mart and other grocery stores. It is always clean, the staff are always friendly, and there is always plenty of variety. This store had anything you would need along with great prices. They even have one of those pick your own six pack options for beer connoisseurs.

This place is nuts! It has a little of everything. They have good Chinese food, a brunch diner, wine/beer area, butcher, deli, bakery etc… It’s quite a place. The staff was super and always helpful.

I order flowers from Hy-Vee every year for my mother. The ladies that work in the floral department are so nice and the arrangements always look great. I definitely recommend them if you need to order an arrangement!

HyVee is a huge chain grocer that is similar to your local Shop ‘N’ Save, Schnucks, Dierbergs, Gerbs, Kroger, etc. Not something you’d think to review, right? But today, my HyVee experience was fabulous! I am relocating to Denver in the near future. As such, I was recently advised to begin taking altitude supplements to ease the transition of the 5,000+ elevation change. While shopping at HyVee today, I figured I would look for the supplement. Naturally, it could not be found so I approached the pharmacy counter for help. From previous experiences at other pharmacies, when a tech has to get the Pharmacist to get an answer, your wait time triples. Not today! Dr. Stan Buczko(spelling?) was the Pharmacist who assisted me today and I am still clapping with glee! This is the best professional at the Lake, in the my honest opinion. He is full of information and willing to share it AND some. Adept, efficient, knowledgeable, current, well-speaking, insightful, comprehensive, all come to mind about Dr. Buczko! He could have easily sicked a tech on me to help locate the product I was looking for after he answered my question, but he didn’t. He walked out to the aisles with me and pumped me with more information on our walk! Other notes: Before today, I would probably review this store as an average grocer with the occasional good deals, lacking specialty items, and a fairly decent meat section. I will say that this HyVee has above average customer service and someone is literally always ready to help you find what you’re looking for! AND if you have the guts to ask them, they WILL do a special order for you if the store does not carry what you’re looking for! Their buffet is just OK. I can’t say it’s over priced but the food is bland, definitely good for old people & families…(or those like myself who wait until the minute after«the last» to grocery shop and you’re caught in the store starving so you go through the buffet«to hold you over»…) Lastly, today while in the store I noticed big add-ons and renovations to the organic section! Looking forward to return!

This is a very nice grocery store with a lot of extras; a huge deli department, a separate wine and liquor area and an extensive offering of hot and prepared foods with a separate seating area. I had dinner here one night, and although the food isn’t fantastic, it’s hot, reasonably priced and there’s a good variety of it. The lanes are very wide, the store is very well-lit and thoroughly stocked. If there was a store like this near me, I’d shop there all the time.

I LOVEHYVEE! I grew up in Iowa with this store and NONE in Memphis! The meat department ROCKS!!! and the prices are great! I got some really good deals and so would LOVE to take this store back to Memphis with me, all I have there is Kroger :(… I love the variety of items that this store has. It has made a great week for me here visiting with my hubby who has never seen a HyVee. He agrees they should open a store like this in Memphis. Great fruit! great cheese and wonderful meat. going to buy a cooler and take some stuff home with me!

On the road I always try to stop off at one or more regional grocery stores to buy supplies. For some reason I’ve always chosen other places over Hy-Vees… And I now regret it. Living on the coast, the wide open lanes and countless deli kiosks within the store harken me back to the Dierbergs and Schunucks of my childhood in StL. It was bright, clean, and carried an ample selection of everything. All I was there for was zipper bags, but ended up buying a delicious parfait and assorted other what have you just because I was so impressed by the selection!

High prices, but high level of service. If you can’t find it here, you can’t find it anywhere. Candy, seafood, booze, friends – they’re always here. I can only bitch about the pricing. You can find some good deals, but since Hy-Vee is employee owned and operated(ahem, COMMUNISM), prices are going to be higher. I think their starting wages are about $ 8/hour and each employee gets stock options, so this company is basically redistributing wealth around for the bragging rights of non-union employee control. As a result, profit needs to come from SOMEWHERE and that form of elite deviance stems from shelf prices. If you want cheap beer for the weekend, go to Lake Liquor. If you want to make homemade wings, go to Walmart for the chicken – HyVee will have your sauces. Don’t bother dining in. Prepared food is a grab-bag of quality and too expensive. The all-you-can-eat buffet thing is a deal, sort of. If you eat your weight in food, you’ll do alright. If you’re like me and fill up on one plate, you’re paying too much for this shit. I keep going because I’m eccentric and eat eccentric food. When I drive home from Springfield, my first stop is HyVee.

This store has a new Alcohol sales policy that requires a drivers license be presented with all sales regardless of age. Now that is bad enough but they are now trying to scan your drivers license which is a serious invasion of privacy and wide open for ID theft since no one knows where or how the info is stored or used. There is absolutely no legitimate reason for this practice with patrons of any age much less those over 50. Made my last visit there yesterday, will take my grocery and beer business somewhere else. Their grocery prices are very high also.

Hands down the best grocery spot in the Zarks. Everything is legit and if you can’t find it here, you’re out of luck. My friends and I have a major soft spot for their fruit pizza. It’s perfect for hot days out on the dock or boat. But really, everything here is good!

This is a store!!! The food-the meat counter-the sit down knife and fork eating spot-the coffee-and best of all the wonderfull employees!! no I don’t work there-we will drive from what ever side of the lake we’re at to get our stapples there-quailty quality– if the west coast had a store like this they would make millions-they would have to have metal detectors, security guards, cameras and parking police-but their loss!!!

I really wanted to bring this store home with me. What a great grocery store! The selection and quality were really good. We found lots of nifty items — milk in glass bottles(and I found out it really does taste better that way), take and bake bread to throw on the grill, very fresh corn on sale(6 for a dollar) — as well as the usual grocery store stuff. The staff was very friendly. The really delicious-looking meat in the case was on the expensive side so we bought the cheap, pre-packaged stuff. It grilled up nicely, however. They also have a steamtable Chinese place with really pretty decent steamtable Chinese. If you want to make it a dinner, they have an all-you-can-eat plan that seemed very popular with the local residents(but we didn’t do that since we were planning to grill some stuff).
