Best subs and soups in town. Nice because they are not a big chain. Service is friendly, efficient and quick. Ingredients are fresh, restaurant is very clean. Prices are very affordable. The hours are unusual, so check the website before you go. Highly recommended.

Picked up some sandwiches on my way to the local state parks. This is nice little sub shop in downtown Ottawa. The prices were nice and cheap and the sandwiches were tasty. It is certainly better than the regular chain sandwich shop but nothing phenomenal. That being said if you need a sandwich or lunch and if you’re in the area, Obees is a great choice.

Fantastic local find while in town visiting Starved Rock. Bread was very soft. They cut the meat to order. Service was friendly and quick. The best part is the huge list of sauces you can add to the sandwich. I ordered the gutbuster with vidalia onion sauce. Delicious.

Have been here once, the shop was simple and very welcoming, the meat was cut fresh and everything felt homemade, I highly recommend to anybody looking to grab lunch in a laid back setting.

Surprisingly Delicious! Unique: They slice all meats and cheeses to order! I didn’t think that it would make a difference, but I believe that it did. Food: I got the Cuban sub on wheat. Outstanding! My only recommendation is to have them heat it up a little longer, so that the meats are heated all the way through. Other than that, it was excellent! My wife got a turkey — salami — cheese on wheat and it, including the bread was very good. No recommendations on it. Ambiance: Interesting blend of tie dye shirts on the employees and sports themed photos on the walls. A bit confusing and lacking consistency and excitement. My recommendation: Hire a professional restaurant decorator and push only 1 theme hard, so that it is less confusing and more memorable.

I received a $ 50 gift card as a present. Keep in mind I did wait awhile to use this card since it has no expiration date. When I went to use this card the owner stated he switched systems years ago and could not use that gift card, he offered me $ 5 instead, wait $ 5 for a $ 50 card? He stated there was nothing else he could do. On the back of the card which I posted a picture states«customers can add value to this card at any time and use balances until value is exhausted» unfortunately that is not true. Maybe the owner isn’t away of consumer protection laws? Either way it was a horrible experience and hope the owner enjoys the free $ 50 he made off my family, I will go out of my way to make everyone aware of this and not recommend this place to anyone.

Amazing sandwiches and very friendly service. The prices were very good too, it’s a shame places like subway and jimmy johns get all the credit when there’s places like this

Good sandwiches. Fresh bread, decent soup and cut to order meat. Searched the area, here for work, and the reviews didn’t let down.

I recently moved to town and decided to try this place for dinner. I unknowingly broke a cardinal rule of restaurant-eating by going in right before close – 7:00 pm. I didn’t realize it until just as I was going to pay and apologized. The owner and shop worker were incredibly kind, told me to stay and eat my food, and even gave me a larger soup than what I ordered because they were closing and were going to get rid of it anyway! This great, family-owned business is comfortable and centrally located. They slice the meat as they make your sandwich, which is incredibly fresh. I will definitely be back!

Stopped here because of the positive reviews, and boy am I glad I did. Very friendly and fast service. Tasty bread and reasonable prices. Why would anyone bother to eat at Subway when are are awesome sub shops like Obie’s. 5 stars.

Best sub shop! Everything is very fresh and the meat and cheese are shaved right in front of you. The service is also very good and the owner is very friendly and welcoming

Great place! Went in and ordered a turkey, ham, and cheese sandwich and the chicken noodle soup. They cut the meat to order, which Is awesome so you know it’s fresh. The sandwich was really good, and so was the soup. The inside is pretty big, and it’s kid friendly. They accept credit cards too. The only thing I would suggest would be for them to consolidate everything onto one menu, instead of having to look a few different places to see what they have. My daughter and I had a sandwich, soup, 2 bags of chips, and 2 drinks and it was about $ 13 so it was way more affordable than Jimmy Johns. Definitely will be returning again soon!

Had some time to kill before a meeting so went here for lunch. Wide open seating area and World Cup FIFA on the TV with the US playing. Had a vegatable soup and veggie sub. Great local sandwich option for a Vegan. They had all the other sub offerings as well so don’t hesitate to go for the gusto. And maybe try the shakes. Looked tasty. Outdoor seating and clean inside. Would recommend … and will go back next time I am in town.

Wish that I had one of these out where I live! What a gem! Delicious subs! All made fresh and ingredients are fresh and so is the bread! The soup is good and their wild rice soup is so good on a chilly day! One of my favorites hands down!

I think the staples this place has is it’s soups and chilli, the subs are all good, but the soups rock! When you walk in the front door the owner will most likely be behind the counter his name is a Frank a really good guy, and if you are form out of town he will do his best to point you around and help you out.
