The Little Bake Shop

Great place to get a quick sandwich, made to order. Great for lunch for around $ 5 for a sandwich, drink and chips. Sometimes even a free cupcake! Of you come here often, be sure to ask for a punch card — and get a free cupcake!

There is something special about a small bake shop occupying what used to be the main entrance to Hofmann Drugs of the past. There are different coffees, breakfast cinnamon rolls, cupcakes, soups, and sandwiches along side a variety of cakes that can be custom ordered. Looking at their Facebook page is really fun seeing examples of past cakes.
This is not your low priced bakery. I stopped in about 8:00 AM and ordered four of their cinnamon rolls and walked out almost $ 11.00 lighter. And this would have been alright if the cinnamon rolls had been fresh and warm and moist inside. What I got was four breakfast rolls that were obviously not fresh out of the oven. Being as how the inside was cold tells one that these were baked and stored in the fridge. Again, might have been alright if they hadn’t been dry too. I really would have preferred a Pillsbury Grands Cinnamon roll over these dried out rolls. Assuming this might have been an off day, had the wife pick up a couple more a week later during the shops $ 1.00 sale. Same story, the were not moist and not fresh. Can’t speak to the other items on their menu (although the cupcakes they made for a wedding were good) but I won’t spend the money for any more dried out cinnamon rolls!
