We used Art Source & Design to stretch a painting we brought back with us from vacation overseas the painting had been rolled and they were able to put it back on a frame perfectly. The painting was ready in a couple of days and was exactly what we were expecting for a very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend them to anyone. Very friendly and professional.

I was completely blown away by Linda’s willingness to help me accomplish a last-minute emergency project in just a few hours before the business closed for the weekend. She wanted to know the story of the piece, my ideas about where it might be hung, and she effortlessly found materials on hand(from their scrap section… pieces of framing which are left over from other projects and can be used at a discount) which worked perfectly with my vision. The final product FAR exceeded my expectations! I will definitely be back again — next time when I’m not rushed so I can choose from all of their fun, creative and beautiful materials.

My initial intent on going to Art Source & Design was that I was looking to have one canvas picture re-framed and preserved, it was created by a member of the family that is no longer with us. I ended up having three different pieces of art framed on that day because I was impressed with the interaction with Eric. They were all fairly distinct pieces of art with varying backgrounds and I loved how I was able to provide my input and he provided feedback on it and he added his own expert ideas and we came to what I thought at the time were going to be some great implementations. I was wrong… they weren’t just great, they were excellent. Eric and the team at Art Source & Design do fantastic work and are great to work with. I would recommend them to anyone in the KC Metro Area and I will continue to use them myself on a regular basis.

I give this place 5 stars for their excellent customer service, and 4.5 for price and quality. Like others, I purchased a groupon for Art Source & Design, and like many of my groupons it was about to expire. Eric, the owner, took around 30 – 60 minutes going through options with me and also reassured me that he could be flexible on the coupon expiration. This was much appreciated, and I returned later with my ‘deciding factor’ husband. On our second visit, Linda helped us. She was very kind and patient. She spent at least an hour, maybe two, with us running through options for our pieces. Both Linda and Eric took us to their scrap room where you can use remnant frame pieces at a discount. Linda has lots of ideas, lots of patience, and lots to say. With how much time we spent in there, you would’ve thought we were choosing something more significant than damn picture frames — we’re an indecisive lot. We chose one traditional frame and one outside of our comfort zone(at Linda’s urging), and both were discounted due to being remnants. I think the total for 2 pieces(1 large, 1 small) was around 190 without the groupon. The frames were ready right on time. They are a bit out of my way, and sure enough it was looking like I’d arrive minutes after they closed. I called to inquire about this, and without hesitation, Eric said to take my time, as he would stay there until I arrived. Thankfully, I got there before close, and I was very pleased with both pieces. Of course, the piece that was outside of our comfort zone is now my favorite, and I can’t wait to find a space for it. On our other piece(a damaged, antique map), once I got it home I did notice the slightest imperfection in the framing(in one spot, the map is not exactly flat against the base)…BUT a) my husband did not notice it, b) I tend to be a little OCD about that stuff, and c) this could be due to the aged/damaged condition of the map. Price-wise, they are going to be a little more than the big box stores with their coupons, but the quality is markedly better. If I compare them to other local frame shops, then I would say that they are much less expensive and good quality. I would definitely recommend this place, but I also recommend going with either a clear vision OR with the flexibility to spend some time there.

We bought a special coupon online after we picked up a new piece of art from the Plaza Art Fair in September. I am not around this part of town very often, but my mom used to get her hair done nearby, so i remembered the strip mall. The store is spotless and very organized. I used a gallery in River Market for many years and I would often be walking on other peoples art and wedging myself into a corner to view frames. The set up at Art Source was a breath of fresh air. The space looks brand new, but I found out they have been there for almost 9 years. The owner is an artist himself and has a gallery area at the front of the store where he shows his work. He is very knowledgeable about the frames, glass and completion time. My only negative would be that the art was complete a week after the date I was give for pickup, but that may have been an issue with one of his vendors. Great selection, good prices. I would go back again.

This business was so wonderful to work with! Everyone I spoke with was extremely friendly and helpful. The shop is set up very nicely, and the employees are knowledgeable about a variety of options and will help you pick the right one for you, not just the most expensive one. I was very pleased with the amount of time it took for my custom order to be completed, and the communication was excellent. I will definitely be back in the future and would recommend this business to anyone needing custom framing!

I recently had some photos framed there and used a $ 100 groupon. They took the time to go through all of the framing and glass options with me so everything I brought in would look as great as it possibly could. For the smaller photos, they let me use pieces of frames for which they didn’t have as much material at a discount. I had three pieces framed and only spent about $ 30 out of pocket for everything.(This included mats for the two smaller photos) All of the pieces were beautifully framed(one with a bluish/grey wooden frame looks even better than I could have imagined!) and everyone who works there is just so kind and helpful. Can really tell they take pride in what they do! They also display and sell the work of a lot of local artists. Even though the location is a bit out of the way for me, I will gladly use them again.
