having never belonged to a gym before, i have no comparision as to whether or not this is a good gym or not. my work offers discounted memberships and when the snow started piling up outside and pounds started piling up on my gut, i joined the gym. i now been 62 days since January and I like it quite a bit. it doesn’t ever seem too crowded, the Fox News Old White guy crowd seems mostly harmless, the classes that they offer seem like they might actually be ran pretty well, the pool has been mostly empty, which is nice when you’re embarrassed about your back hair, and the little café serves up one of the best turkey sandwhiches and cheap ass 6 dollar burger baskets. I can’t say i love the carpet, that looks like it should have been replaced 20 years ago, or the paint chips hanging from the ceiling in the showers, or the Fox News Old White guys who like to stand around naked in the locker room chatting, but i can deal with those things if it will make me skinny again.

I LOVE This club. My husband and I moved over from Bally’s and it was great. They have all the extras, towels, shampoo. But the staff is the best. Jake is the best zumba teacher you can find. Airem is great for yoga. The trainers are all sweet. This is a wonderful club. More affordable than others, with all the stuff I look for in a club, whirlpool, lockers, sauna, steam. Yes, the décor is a bit dated, but it’s worth it for the teachers.

SPECIALOFFER!!! ACTNOW!!! I went here on a guest-pass and was immediately punched in the nose with the smell of turds and sweat, given a sales pitch for ~20 minutes, then worked out on 1981 weight machines with no towel. Pros: –The gym is very«vintage,» which I hear is pretty cool –I think I saw one girl working out there, so it must be co-ed, which is good. Equal rights and all –I think whatever rash I caught in the locker-rooms can be cured with antibiotics(fingers crossed!) –They let me leave Cons: –Not enough old men or racquetball players –I was only given a tour for 20 minutes – usually I like to spend at least the first hour plotting my workout routine with a membership sales person –They lowered their monthly membership fee to $ 62 as a special deal just for me, but I would have been willing to pay more if that means they can afford towels and a cleaning crew I’d rather be fat than workout here.

I belonged to this gym for over a year and loved it, mostly because of the location(we lived in a nearby apartment and could walk there). It’s pricy… We now pay 600 for two years/two people at a different gym that suits our needs just as well(compared to close to two grand). It’s swanky, but the equipment is not the best. It was a really comfortable place to work out, especially compared to the bustling meat market that is our new gym. But at a quarter of the price… we couldn’t justify staying there. The one VERY nice thing was that there were no children. Even in the pool(which is honestly a lap pool), there were rarely any kids, and the people who did saunter up with youngins strapped into floaties were appropriately glared at. We tried Prairie Life Fitness across the street for a few days, and – even in the«adults only» section – there were a lot of kids running around and being generally annoying.
