Visited here for lunch yesterday. I haven’t been to FPO in many years. I remember them having great hamburgers way back when, so I wanted to order a burger. I ordered the 1⁄3 lb hamburger no cheese with fries. When the burger arrived, it looked way overcooked and it was very small. There was no way that was a 1⁄3 lb burger. Maybe it was before they cooked the life out of it, but it wasn’t anywhere close when it arrived at the table. It had no garnishments whatsoever. I forgot to specify, but typically burgers come standard with pickles, lettuce and tomato. For $ 7.89, I really felt ripped off. The size and quality was a «F». I am giving this two stars because our server was half-way decent. The location of this restaurant is great. If this place wants to thrive, they need to really ramp up the quality and value. I have had much better burgers at a fast food place at half the cost.

I was very interested in this place. Tried their burgers once, but left three other times. It looks like a place where you catch Hep B, and gets Shived by a soccer hooligan. It’s a shifty place, so stay frosty. I don’t think I’ll ever be back.

I want to give four stars because I come here about once a week and the waitstaff is always phenomenal, remembers what I like, takes great care of us. The food is bar food — solid, greasy bar food which is just about perfect with beer. The Reuben is my favorite thing to eat. But holy mother of pearl, the smell of the women’s bathroom knocks years off my life expectancy and three stars off this review. I can’t speak for the boy’s room, but I tell you what, I have considered heading in there based on the nasal-rape that occurs every time I walk into my gender appropriate room. It’s gotta be a sewer issue, and I know it will be expensive to fix, but I seriously DRINKLESSBEER when I’m there because I so dread having to pee there. Please, Fred, call a plumber or an exorcist or whatever it takes to get that bathroom fixed. For the good of humanity.

Came for their Saturday karaōke night. So you’d think that people would be there to have fun with karaōke. But you’d be wrong. The staff there were incredibly rude and made snarky commentary all evening. I don’t know if the peanut gallery was made worse by the fact that the supervisor was drinking the ENTIRETIME. A couple of the servers were ok, but the supervisor was very unprofessional.

Service was great! I just went for lunch and sat at the bar. The food was average, but I thought the price was high for the quality and type of food I ordered.

Agree with comments on dive bar. Drinks are pretty much limited to beer. The waitress was nice enough, but nothing great. Bartender definitely didn’t want to be there as she sat reading her phone telling us all the drinks she couldn’t make even though we saw all the ingredients on the shelf behind her. Definitely wouldn’t eat here and there was a funky smell. Left just before karaōke started up.

Most of the servers are cranky and seem to hate their jobs. It won’t be fast service. Don’t expect to be checked on, so order everything you need or could possibly need at the same time otherwise you’ll be given the silent treatment and plenty of eye rolling. Your order won’t be correct, so know that going in. Good burgers, decent nachos, normal bar food prices. I continue to come here because it’s so close to work and hoping they took some inspiration from the Plaza location. Someone mentioned the smell of sewage on the patio. Yes. Depending on thw direction of the wind you may to experience this. Bottom line: go somewhere else.

I come here once in awhile and the service is great. The bartenders and waiters/waitresses are welcoming and provide great service. If you order their burgers, prepare to get messy, but they’re amazing. It’s a very homey corner bar feel. I loved everyone that works here.

this would have been my favorite bar/restaurant in 1987. unfortunately I was 7 and FPOtts has taken a long fall since then. there are a bevy of reasons why this location has struggled over the years. first and foremost is the inability to update the interior. cutouts of hollywood heroes of years past clutter the walls along with requisite images of elvira, old beer commercials, and outdated video games. secondly is the general divey nature of the bar. i don’t mind the creaky stools and wobbly tables — a must for dive bars. the smell of wet cigarette butts, dusty interiors, and dirty tables is a cleanliness, issue, however. FPO used to be a great place to get a burger… and to some degree it still is. the burgers here are decent, both the 1⁄3 and ½ pound versions. the onion rings suffer, however. gnawing on a burned, dried out onion is not very appetizing. the service isn’t bad either. my latest trip here was not unlike others — a trip to the OP convention center followed by lunch at FPO. there were about 12 other people in the bar when I arrived, about 10 more than normal. our server, a longtime lunch waitress here, was adept and friendly. A pet peeve I have, however, is when staff sit around and hang out in plain view of customers. I’ve seen this here many times. The bartender, server, and line cook sat at the bar sipping on drinks, playing on their phones, and watching tv. if you’re going to take a break, at least go into the back room and chill out there. i’m sure they get more business for lunch during the week along this busy stretch of College Blvd near Metcalf. With Potbelly moving in across the street, however, they are bound to lose some business for those who want a quick lunch that doesn’t involve traveling back in time to eat it. it’s either time to step into the 21st century and improve the interior and food quality here, or close up shop for good. i would miss my infrequent trips here, but I wouldn’t lose sleep over it.

It’s okay, but fails to live up to the Plaza location. I had wings that were pretty good. The big disappointment was the beer selection. Pretty pedestrian for a place like this. No Guinness on tap? Only one IPA tap? Hmmm… At least parking is plentiful and there are some outdoor seats in nice weather.

Dive bar alert. Madonna life size cutouts on the ceiling, understaffed on a Friday during Happy Hour, mediocre everything. I think the best thing about the place is location, it’s right off Metcalf so you can expect a lot of working professional traffic. I’m not a big frequenter of bars in general and I stay away from any place that looks like it might attract the wrong crowd. I’d never have that fear here. Came with a friend who really likes the place. Apparently the lunch specials & burgers are great, might have to come back sometime and try that, but I’m in no rush!

Met some friends for lunch. I arrived after they ordered and waited a full 10 minutes for the waiter to come to the table. I finally had to go track him down to place my drink and food order. 15 minutes pass — still no drink. My friends meals finally arrive and they finish eating — but my order still has not arrived. 35 minutes after placing the order — I finally receive my chicken wrap — just as my friends are asking for the check. I rejected the order. The good news — the waiter didn’t charge me for my Diet Coke. There are simply too many other good options for lunch in OP to waste your time and money here.

The two times I’ve been here once I sat outside and the other it reeked of sewer so bad I couldn’t enjoy my beer. If you go outside on the patio it’s not too bad… just hold your breath when they open the door.

Divey, junk-on-the-walls décor. I wasn’t too impressed with the fish & chips, but the Guy liked his Carolina pulled pork. Service was prompt, and the patio looks nice for those days when it’s not as hot as the surface of the sun.

The service was good, the beer was cold, BUT there were gnats constantly buzzing our appetizer so we didn’t stay to eat a full meal. Toward the end of the visit, a gnat flew right into my beer, so I couldn’t finish it. YUCK. Will not be going back.

Had a business meeting with a friend here. In the odd location in the midst of an office park, I bet this place rocks after 5pm. During the rest of the day though(outside of lunch) it doesn’t look like it promises anything exceptional.

Meh. Very overpriced for what is essentially a «bar at the mall» in Claire Fisher’s terminology for the place that her co-workers go to drink after work. While this is not in a mall, it is right in front of an office building so it just has that vibe to it. My bill for two«cheapo» drinks while seeing Missouri fail at everything they do in March Madness was about twice what I was expecting — especially considering how this looked more like a run down place to get trashed cheap and watch tv, than it did a place that considered themselves to be among the Sir class of spirit purveyors.

Not a great or terrible place; hence, the 3-star rating. The food I had was acceptable, but that’s assuming you are going to wash it down with some fine ale. I had a Reuben sandwich with onion rings; both were decent enough, not too greasy or spoiled in anyway. What really helps a food & beverage establishment to leap above average is, well, service. Our server, «Annie,» was pleasant enough and made the evening with a friend comfortable and hospitable. She deserves at least 4 stars. If all you want is food, you have 50 better choices all just a few miles away, but if you are looking for a fair menu with typical«pub» fair and atmosphere, this place isn’t half bad.

Fred P. Otts, or Conference Room P as we call it at my company, is a small dive bar/grill sitting at College and Metcalf. The atmosphere is not great but the drinks are cold! The original P Otts was downtown at 11th and Main so the décor and ambience is old-school drinking establishment. The food is standard pub-fare and is about what you would expect from a place where drinking is primary and eating is an auxillary activity. Burgers, sandwiches, hots dogs, nachos and the like are all priced at around $ 8. That said, P. Otts hold a special place in my heart due to the many happy hours and late afternoon«meetings» that I’ve had hear over the last 15 years. I almost got fired during orientation day at my 1st job out of college because me and few new co-workers decided to have lunch at P. Otts and instead of eating, we drained a few beers before heading back to the afternoon session… I was young then but I remember one of the middle-aged guys who went to lunch with us fell asleep in the afternoon session and was asked to go home! :-) P Otts is a good place to come sit on the patio and drain a few pints of Guiness on a Spring afternoon…

Voted worst bar in Overland Park three years in a row. Pluses: A complimentary burger & sandwich fixin’s bar. The cook’s are too busy making such good food that they can’t be bothered to put fixins on your sandwich. Thursday night karaōke. Karaōke is supposed to be fun but this was awful. I think every singer was a man with a pony tail and jean shorts… you can imagine the music selection. Nova Vodka…$ 2…nough said All in all this place is awful. Avoid it at all costs.
