Terrible experience. Hostess just said«how many», no greeting or pleasant welcome. Very slow getting a server and drinks. Then waiting. I asked for a manager after waiting a half hour for our food. He finally came and said they were busy with lots of large parties. Finally got our food and it wasn’t even good — my pork was very fatty. The manager never came back to offer any compensation for the awful experience. I had to go to the takeout cashier to pay and leave. Will never return and I don’t see why people think this is good.

Worst Mexican food I’ve had in the city. Did not deliver correct order. No salt on the margarita glass even though we specified that. The food was totally tasteless and could not eat it. The chips were stale as well as the taco shells. The décor is awful. Loud music limiting conversation. I cannot imagine it staying open too long.

Wow. how fast can a great place slide into the sewer??? Just went for take out. The order was very late. The dirty little young girls at take out counter… were screwing around with their iphones —one sneezed violently on another then pretended to spit on her. The place appeared dirty. Famous for their chicken mushroom enchiladas… they were half as good as used to be. Worse I ordered Beef chile relleno that when i opened at home was litterally swimming in grease and tasted like dog poop. The hard shell taco was now a softshell mess. The crowd was still big but this chain known for hiring illegal aliens is bound to fail unless someone takes hold and fast!

Third time we have been here. They have an expansive menu tons of choices and pictures which is a plus! The place is on the loud side. Plenty of space and different seating options booths, chairs, and stools. There is no lacking of TVs; they are everywhere even outside on the patio. I had the camarones Chipotle. The shrimp were good however the sauce seemed to be lacking flavor. I imagined that robust smokey flavor of the Chipotle pepper… eeehhh nope it was covered in more of a white cheese and spinach leaves sauce. Not espinaca dip just plane white cheese and spinach leaves… very dull. Rice was perfect, light fluffy, and good flavor.

This is my second visit within a week because I liked it so well last time and today I was not disappointed… Once again I started out with Jalapeños Relleno’s(I ask for the Recipe but only got a smile) I followed those up with Durango which is Chicken tamale, crispy ground beef taco and a cheese enchilada with refried beans and rice… The platter was awesome more then I could eat… I hate we don’t have a K-Mancho’s back home in Alabama.

I know this place is very popular these days, so it was quite crowded when we were there. It was noisy and bustling, a little messy. For instance, someone had spilled some ice in the walkway and servers just stepped over it, no one cleaned it up. I was quite worried a patron would slip on this, but luckily didn’t while I was there. The chairs are like giant thrones. I never could really get comfortable. Next time, I’d try a booth to try to avoid feeling like I was sitting in a giant’s chair. The food was really good. They had some different options you don’t see everywhere. I’d be willing to try it again, but won’t be running back either

Wanted to try a new place after work a couple of weeks ago, but was completely underwhelmed. The service was decent and attentive, but as soon as we finished our meals, they were trying to push us out of our booth. No consideration that we still had margaritas and queso at the table. Food was just ok. Definitely not authentic at all. The queso was more like spinach dip: really thick and full of add-ins. It was tasty, but not the typical white cheese you’ve come to expect. The Popeye enchiladas also had a weird spinach and queso sauce. To me, it was almost Alfredo sauce. Really off putting, but there was a lot of food on the plate. All the food was salty and unoriginal.

I’ve eaten at the original K-Macho’s on Santa Fe in Olathe, but we were doing a Costco run and this was nearby for dinner afterwards. Good choice. The menu seems to have been tweaked a bit since our last visit to the Olathe location. Service was very fast and efficient. My husband ordered the parrillada de camarones, a kind of cross between fajitas and gambas a la plancha(shrimp sizzled with garlic) that was generous, good looking and delicious! I ordered the enchiladas verdes made with grilled chicken and they were very good. I really liked the green sauce, which tasted fresh and house-made, not like something out of a can! The accompaniments were good, too. K-Macho’s doesn’t feel like a chain(it isn’t one) and the food has authentic flavors. Having grown up in Mexico(as some of you know) I appreciate that, a lot! My husband likes K-Macho’s margaritas and tonight’s special was a house margarita with a mini-bottle of Corona upended into it! It seemed like a weird idea to me at first, but then I realized it’s a twist on the popular michelada, which is a Mexican version of shandy(lemonade and beer). Makes sense to use a lemony margarita as the base instead of plain lemonade! If you’re in the neighborhood of 119th and Metcalf, this is a good option for good, flavorful and reasonably priced Mexican cooking!

There are so many better Mexican restaurants in the area, such as, many of the Mexican restaurants on the boulevard. K macho’s was not a place I chose to eat at. I was invited to eat here by my fiances mother. I can’t resist crispy tacos, I know so original, so I ordered the tacos at K Machos. The tacos came severed with a whole bunch of ingredients that were not in the menu description. My taco meat was mostly potato, which I know, putting potato in taco meat is a traditional in Mexican cooking. I prefer all meat in my tacos, not a cheap filler. My tacos were also extremely soggy on the bottom. I picked my taco up and the bottom fell out. I would say my first experience at K Macho’s was not great, but not traumatizing. My fiances mother decided to eat at K Macho’s for her birthday. I decided to order something else, instead of the tacos. I ordered the southwest chicken salad. I thought, how can someone mess up a chicken salad? The salad was not fresh. The salad was in fact wimpy, as if it had been sitting in heat for awhile. Personally I did not care for the oil based salad dressing, they drenched my salad in. The tortilla strips were also very gummy. Unfortunately my fiances mother was not satisfied with her birthday meal either. K Macho’s makes some odd choices, when preparing food. It’s as if, the people working in the kitchen, doesn’t know how to prep food correctly. I tried K Macho’s twice, I can say, I will not be coming back.

They’ve got a lot of very good dishes on the menu and I’ve enjoyed every meal I’ve ordered here. One thing I like is that you get both salsa and a green sauce with free chips when you sit down, I love that green sauce. After one especially stressful day, we went to K-Macho’s and had a wonderful meal and a delicious Pina Colada and that was just what I needed! The OP location is very nicely decorated and I’ve never had an issue with service, they do a great job. We’ve been there many times and will continue to go back!

Delicious! I use to travel from OP to Olathe to eat Kmachos. So happy that it’s right down the street from me. Delicious margaritas! The uruapan avacodos are out of this world. I also love the chicken and mushrooms enchiladas. They have great chips and salsa too. My favorite Mexican restaurant by far.

From start to finish, K-Macho’s does it right! The tortillas/chips are made in house, which is awesome, but the flavorful and fresh salsa make quite a combo. I’ve tried close to half their menu and I have yet to be disappointed. Everything is delicious and the portions are plentiful! The service is top notch, and if margaritas are your thing, K-Macho’s has them down to a science. If I’ve heard correctly, they won a contest for best in KC lately. Can’t say I’ve personally had one better!

Pricey margs. So-so chips, salsa(regular is too mile but watch out for the ‘hot’…it delivers. Average tasting entrees. Still looking in this town for the real deal Mexican cuisine at a non rip-off price!!! We went in on a Saturday. Ate at the bar, and although there were two bartenders, one seemed more interested in entertaining himself with a few other patrons than the majority. Thus, second(or more?)-drink desires went un-realized. Chip basket un-refilled, and salsa dishes empty. We ordered two simple dishes. WIfe ordered a single tamale and a beef tostada(on crispy shell), and I ordered a chicken enchilada with fresh onions on top to be put on before being baked/broiled and a hard chicken taco. Both orders arrived on the same plate which made the desired crunchy items soft and crumbly. When we pointed out that the plate was really TWO orders, the server brought two cold side plates for us to move the cooked product ourselves. Upon being informed that the enchilada was made without the desired(cooked) onions on top, I was presented with a small dish of cold raw onion pieces. NOT what I had in mind… nor ordered. OK…we ate off the same congealed mass. By now we had been there far too long and had other errands to accomplish before sundown. Food was not well seasoned. and pretty un-remarkable overall… I’m still looking.

Went here with a party of 7. I found the food here to be excellent, but a tad overpriced when compared to other Mexican places. I ordered fajita meat tacos off the side order menu. All of our party ordered just ala carte items with no full meals and we had 3 sodas and 420oz margaritas. Our bill was $ 98. The chips and salsa were excellent. Loved every bite, just thought prices are a little high. The place was packed, so obviously the prices don’t deter the southern Johnson Countians from eating here. The noise level in this restaurant is pretty high. Would go here again, but it won’t be on a regular basis due to the crowds and prices.

Stopped in here on a Monday afternoon. The parking lot seemed to be full, but there were plenty of seats when we got in. The chips were warm and the salsa was delicious! Service was great, and our food came out hot, and fairly quickly. I have already recommended this spot to friends, and definitely plan on returning. Maybe next time I won’t be hungover, and can try the margaritas! :)

A legitimately delicious option for Mexican food in Overland Park. The little brother to the wildly popular Olathe flagship, this K Macho’s on 119th and Metcalf serves up a spicy experience of fun atmosphere and food. Got here early on a Saturday to avoid a wicked lunch rush. People were already pulling into the parking lot at 11:05 am. It’s understandable why. K Macho’s is one of the best options for Mexican around the Metro area. My go-to dish when trying a new Mexican joint are the house tamales. No disappointment here, delicate and soft corn shell wrapped around a pork and chicken option. Rice and beans were equally good. The level of service was even better. We had three to four servers visit our table, each equally as friendly as the prior. They doted on our every need — chips, salsa, water refills, everything you’d want to see in a caring staff. Will definitely be back to try some other options. K Macho’s is a must visit option for anyone looking for great Mexican food when in the Deep South of OPKS.

I love K Macho’s and have missed dining there since moving away from Olathe. I was pretty excited about a closer location opening, but disappointed in the service. The food is great. That part of the original location wasn’t lost. I have tried a variety of things at both locations and I have never been disappointed. They have lunch specials and some pretty good margaritas. The salsas that come with the chips are delicious, especially the green sauce. My first visit here I called to make a reservation for a taco Wednesday outing with fellow Unilocalers. My info was taken and all was good, until we arrived and was told they do not take reservations. Luckily they had a table available so we didn’t have to wait. They do fill up fast! One of the diners can not eat gluten and asked if they had gluten free options. The manager said he would get a menu. Quite a bit later our waiter came over and suggested one dish as gluten free. The option ended up being delicious, but they really seemed to lack wanting to help identify options. We had other issues and this has been echoed by many other about the service. The food will keep me going back. It is the best Americanized style Mexican food around. Hopefully the service improves as they grow.

Venturing in on a Wednesday evening at 5:45, we were surprised to find there was already a wait expected. We chose to eat at the bar since seats were open. The restraunt is pretty spacious with both booths and tables. Great ambiance and décor. Also perfect for all those sports nuts out there, TV’S located throughout at every angle. The menu is pretty expansive with traditional items and specialty plates. Everything seems reasonable for the portions. Wednesdays are $ 1.00 tacos from 4−10pm. Seemed like a big hit. I opted for the Kansas Burrito. It was delish! Perfect blend of pork and beef, coated in a layer of white cheese sauce. Service overall a little off tonight. Had to request chips & salsa, and did not get a drink refill the entire meal. But food, location and restraunt were spot on. First visit, but mucho mas to come!

Two good tries, and as much as I want to love this place, I am struggling. Both dishes I have gotten there have been great(a mushroom/steak dish, and then the poblano fajitas) — seriously, delicious. I also should add, their Patron margaritas are the best I have had locally, that I don’t make myself. I just can’t get past the service. Both visits, it just wasn’t great. Barely being acknowledged, unfilled water, unfilled chips when we’ve run out, and just general pace of getting anything needed. I am trying to sum it up to them being a newer location still, but poor service is hard to get past sometimes. I will probably just stick to getting to-go orders to avoid the hassle. Or maybe for drinks after work? Either way, I think I will wait till they work out the service kinks.

I had a very good experience on opening day. The señor burrito Wednesday lunch special($ 5.99) was delivered to my table in about eight minutes, which gave me time to enjoy the complimentary thin, crispy, tortilla chips(made in-house) and hearty, but mild salsa. The burrito was covered with delicious, melted cheese, but the beef filling seemed somewhat soupy. The interior was nicely decorated, with Mexican music, and many TVs, while the service was fast, and congenial. Very nice.
