Shout out to LIllian, and also to Tiger who set this up. Fan’s is off of 69 high way. It sits off the main road, on Mastin. Frankly, I have no idea if I’d have even visited Fan’s without a Unilocal event. Fan’s is authentic Chinese food. Well, maybe the crab ragoon isn’t authentic, but the rest of the cuisine is quite possibly the best Chinese food I’ve had. Fan’s went out of their way to serve the vegetarians in our group, special vegetarian dumplings. I thought that was kind. They gave us complimentary crab ragoon, which was appreciated. One of our group ordered a type of noodles that they were out of. This caused miner confusion, but it turned out alright. The dumplings I had were good. They had ground meat filling. The sauce, tasted like a cross of terryaki, and soy sauce. I don’t normally eat Chinese dumplings, maybe I should. Tiger had fried dumplings, and they were the bomb. They were the exact same thing as my dumplings, but fried. Oh gracious they were good. Seriously, if Fan’s had Awesome Sauce, then that’s all they need. They probably do have plumb sauce, but I didn’t ask. I saw bubble tea on the menu, and ordered honey dew flavored bubble tea. It was fantastic. The honey dew flavor was throughout the drink, with plenty of tapioca pearls in the bottom. It was so fun seeing people at this Unofficial Unilocal event. Great talking to everyone, the regular Unilocalers who attended(Lillian, her boyfriend, Tiger, Joi, Krystoff, and Kathryn M. Susan and David, and another person who came in a bit late. I’m sorry, I don’t know her name) made the UYE very comfortable and friendly. I hope we have more UYE’s, just for the socialization. It’s a great idea, and I hope it’s catching for Kansas City.
