Disappointing. Restaurant was maybe 25% full. We were told 15 – 20 minute wait! Seated in 5 minutes. Asked for a booth, host wasn’t sure if he could do it, but we walked by 6 open booths. Waitress was friendly but after receiving our limp underdone Paul Bunyan onion, we noticed we had no silverwear or napkins! Ordered 2 small steaks and a kabob, it’s been 20 minutes still no food. This place is almost empty, the wait is inexplicable… Food finally came. Viking lineman sirloin steak tasted and chewed like pot roast, nasty. Wife’s kabob was very good. Our sons Viking steak not too bad. Presentation terrible. Plain white cafeteria plates, no veggie or color of any sort. No juice on steak, and waitress never asked if we wanted mushrooms, onions etc. sad overall, we won’t come back and don’t recommend you spend money here.

We ordered a steak for him and chicken for me. My chicken was over cooked and bland, with burnt edges… while his steak was tough and very much not medium, but very well done. While discussing places to eat in Owatonna the group of friends all simultaneously agreed not Timberlodge. I give it 2 stars because the service was great and friendly.

Nice atmosphere, cute rustic décor, friendly staff. Food is pretty lack luster. Steaks were dry and flavorless, brisket was dry as a bone. Fries were un seasoned and freezer burned. We were disappointed.

This review is in no way a reflection of the service that we received as our waitress was did a great job of connecting with us, making advisement’s, and of checking in. Unfortunately the let down here, was the food. We at down to our weekly date night at 5:00 and spent some time taking a look at the menu. We ordered the Buffalo Chips to try and they were actually quite good! I thought that if this was a reflection of their food than the rest of supper ought to be pretty darn good! I was wrong. My fiancé ordered the sirloin filet medium rare with french fries and a side of ranch. I ordered the classic southern brisket platter and asked for a side of bbq. We also got an order of french onion soup to share. The soup was also delicious, and so was the bread that they bring you for the entrée. But our food was… a disaster. My brisket was bone dry, and yes I understand that it is cooked on a rotisserie, but it was burnt to the point that it didn’t taste like brisket on the edges. My fiancé’s steak was more well done than anything, lacked any discernible seasoning, the fries were only ok, and there was no ranch dressing on the side so we had to ask for it a second time. Question for the chef’s here, on what planet should a baked potato be served with a butter/sour cream ratio that was far larger than the amount of potato? The entire meal was very very disappointing. We didn’t complain, we just paid our check and left. This is one of the restaurants in Owatonna that I feel should be so much better than this. They have a great location, great décor, and wonderful front of house staff, but this isn’t the first time I’ve had issues with the food here, it just so happens that it will be my last.

Service was very good. Cheese curds appetizer — excellent! Salad was average, and I had to pay an up charge for it! French onion soup was so, so, so salty! If it hadn’t been so tasty, I wouldn’t have been able to eat it. I couldn’t finish it, I can only imagine how spectacular it would be with less salt. One of the steaks we ordered was perfectly done, one was overdone, but the manager made it right by discounting our dinner. So she saved them from a scathing review from us! Thank you, ma’am. And she was very gracious about it.

Traveling trough on a Saturday night. Service was friendly but very slow. Food was good but not great. Hard to give more than an average review.

Honey wheat bread was reheated in the microwave. French fies definitely were not fresh. French onion soup was good. Ok dining experience. Would not drive here just to eat here. However, if in the area and craving steak I would stop.

They ran out of the daily lunch special– at 11:30am! But we weren’t told until we had already waited for 35 minutes. Good grief… and the restaurant was practically empty. With this sort of total disorganization, no telling how fresh the food would be, or how sanitary the kitchen was. You have to wonder. The waitress apologized, and they comped us free entrees, which were ok. But we were pretty sour at that point, and probably wouldn’t go back.

Meat + Beer + Cheese Curds = A great meal. Timberlodge brings it, with an affordable menu of delicious cuts of meat. The service was extremely friendly and the Wild Rice Soup is homemade and delicious. I had a Viking, lineman sized of course(terms from the menu for the big sirloin). Recommend if… A) You love beer, meat, and cheese. B) You love cheese, beer, and meat. C) You love beer, cheese, and cheese(for vegetarians).

Few restaurant options in Owatonna. This one is probably the best. Prices are reasonable /proteins were properly cooked.
