Store is closing! Come in to rack up on cheap clothes and home accessories! Once things are bought they can not be returned. Sales associate will cross out the barcode so things can’t be returned! They have no answers to what is happening with this mall. This was the last store open here. Many of the restaurants around are still booming with business! Don’t wait! Will be close April 8, 2016

Don’t take pictures here! Beware! You make an appointment and they make you wait 2 hours! Horrible customer service! I’m very disappointed and have never had such a horrible experience in my life. The sad thing is the pictures come out bad and overall it’s just a waste of time. Find someplace else to take pictures because clearly the people here are incompetent and careless. Trust me you don’t want to document monumental moments with a failure of a company like this!

I don’t particularly enjoy shopping. I prefer to just grab what I need at the best price I can get it for and get out as soon as possible. This is why most of my shopping is done online. But my visit to JCPenney reminded me of why going to the physical store is still the best way to get what you want. No, it wasn’t the fact that you can try on clothes or feel the material, that’s not that important to me. What made the impression was service. I came into the store to buy a watch as a gift, they had a pretty good selection and as soon as the rep saw me she dropped everything and ran over to help. Admittingly, I am not the easiest customer to help, but was patient and kept showing different watches. Now that’s already pretty good, but here is the kicker: When I liked a particular watch she told me that Macy’s was having a going out of business sale and I might be able to get it cheaper there. What on earth is this?! Doesn’t she know that she’s suppose to slowly draw me in with smiles, then push me towards the sale? Or maybe she’s just an excellent rep who showed actual genuine interest in helping out a customer, even if it would mean costing her a sale. I don’t foresee a website letting customers know via popup that their competitor has the same item for less, because websites don’t have the chance to really help a customer. JCPenney may have lost the sale, but they gained a new customer.

3.5 stars Came here with the boyfriend to purchase some business outfits. This JC Penny has great sales going on select items(probably due to the near dead location it’s in). I docked a couple of stars because sales reps are nowhere to be found and are in their own world when you do find them. They are also lacking some top men’s clothing brands. The dress shirts were $ 24.55 or less which was nice. We also got a $ 10 the next $ 25 purchase coupon with our purchase another plus. I would come back here to finish up his business shopping and do some homemaking purchases. Not really interested in anything else.

This location is in the desolate Owings Mills Mall, that is in SERIOUS need of a revamping! My sister and I came here to look for a giggle baby crib set that was on sale. We went to furniture and bedding thinking it would be there but nope. There was a nice sir that did try to help us but no luck. So as we are walking around we venture over to customer service to inquire because the preggers wants this set and they said online that the store had it. My sissy was determined as we can see lol! When over at customer service and my sister was inquiring with the customer service rep I found this hidden display with greeting cards. I needed to get a card for the baby showers I have coming up. They clearly were trying to get rid of this stock; the cards were .23 cents! SCORE!!! I am one of those people that stocks up on cards so when I need one I look through my inventory before going out to buy a new one. I got 5 cards for $ 1.14. They were reduced even more at the register. YES!!! That saves me as trip to Target where I can never spend less than $ 20 there. TARGET is the DEVIL(A good devil that I LOVE! lol) The customer rep was able to help us and direct us down to kid clothing and other stuff downstairs. She was very friendly and helpful and even called down to that department so that they would be expecting us. When we got down there Crystal, the sales associate for children’s department, was ready for us and showed us the crib set with no hesitation. She was so friendly and personable! As my sister and I walked around the section a little more we were surprised. Who knew this section had all this… neither of us have kids, but there is one on the way so we learned something new. We asked Crystal about what they were going to do with the mall and how that will affect JCPenny. She informed us that Macy’s as well as JCPenny own their buildings so with whatever they plan on doing from what she understands it has to be built around the existing stores. Looks like the plan is to build it up like the town centers in Hunt Valley and White Marsh. Definitely keep an eye out for all the store closings of the remaining stores in the mall. Good closing sale deals I am sure to come! I’m all about a bargain! ;-) This will be an interesting process to see occur over the next few months/years.

JCP gets a bad rap as being old and frumpy but I am in my twenties and I have gotten a ton of cute stuff here. I bought every single infinity scarf they had in neons and I am constantly being asked about them and I proudly say its from«penneys». The new lines have a lot of good pieces at decent prices. Jonathan Adler? Yes and please. Dave Bitton? Sign me up. ALSO this JCP in particular has amazing customer service. I am admittedly a major pain sometimes and I was super PO’d when I bought a clearance duvet set and got home to find the shams missing. Of course that was the last queen sized set and of course it was double the price online. I asked corporate customer service to simply match the price and they were literally WORTHLESS, some nonsense about the stores and the website not being the same. Really? The store on the other hand did some fancy behind the scenes finagling and got me my duvet set for the same price, they even dealt with my crazy tirade with grace. In a nut shell, the people working at this jcp make it at least worth a look.

Great service will be experienced by Justin in the men’s department and exceptional service from Lesley in Window Treatments. Justin is simply kind, professional and has a contagious smile. Lesley is a multi-tasked! She can help a customer at the register, take a call and acknowledge a customer walking with up without missing a beat or anyone feeling neglected or lacking service. Sweet, articulate and genuine. I’ve tried to steal her away to work for my company.
