The new shabu hot pot was a fun experience with my friends. We all ordered something different and enjoyed sharing from each other. It took a little while to get the cooking timing down which will make the next time even better.

We got the new Shabu Hot Pot. Worth the trip and a great experience. Staff very helpful with explaining and suggesting cooking times. If you love fresh seasonal chinese vegetables paired with meats and seafood ~you need to try this. It takes time but it has to in order to appreciate it.

NEW HOTPOT ! Myself and 2 girlfriends always go there for our usuals and were skeptical about trying this new «cook it yourself HOTPOT soups». Let me just say, it’s a totally unique experience. If you get bored chatting, this will make you laugh, talk, and come back again. It’s DELICIOUS, HEALTHY, AND DIFFERENT ! It just put OXFORD MA back on the food radar map ! Great place to come with the family for some good Chinese food. Now they added a whole section for hot pot, which I have already had several times in Boston and Worcester. This definitely is just as good as those restaurants that have been doing it for years. Healthy vegetables and savory meat for the hotpot, great flavor and friendly staff as always. I’ll be back!

Food is always great and. The service is always excellent best chinese food around. I always get spare ribs and general gau chicken and it comes out tender and tastey. They give a good amount of food for the price.

Really good food and for a cheap price. The only complaint that I had was the fried rice should be fried more. This place really hit the spot.

See tip, then don’t go! The service was so bad!!! The young waiter was taking my drink order before I took my coat off or sat down, he then got the drink order wrong, they didn’t have what I ordered and when I ordered a drink he brought the same to my friend who didn’t order that, the food order was wrong, and the food was ok at best, and the THREW the check on the table, don’t think I would be back

Ok, the food is standard American Chinese fare done well, not exceptional.
Chicken wings are large and tasty, rangoons have crab, but way too much cream cheese as well. Boneless ribs, chicken fingers, teriyaki, egg rolls, and fried shrimp are all standard fare.
Meat and vegetable dishes prepared well, but missing something… I think it was salt. maybe they need more soy sauce in their recipe. Adding soy sauce after the fact isn’t the same.
Now here’s the thing… I would have given it three stars, except our waitress seemed like our presence was somehow inconveniencing her. It was between lunch and dinner, and all of the patronage was at the bar, we were the only ones in the dining room… but this is no excuse.
No amount of small talk and smiling could get any emotion out of her. Food was served efficiently and relatively quick, its just that having a sourpuss serving you takes away from the meal. ‘Happy Garden’ indeed.
If I’m ever jonesing for chinese food and I’m in the area, I’ll probably grab some wings for takeout, I don’t feel like sitting in again, it just feels awkward when you feel you are not welcome.

Got a combo plate and egg rolls. Pretty sure these were just left over from lunchtime cause the boneless ribs were either really hard or way too rubbery, barely anything on the beef teriyaki stick, the chicken fingers was the best but even that was mediocre.
Service was nice enough. It’s OK Chinese food but nothing to tell your friends about.

I have yet to find anything disappointing. The crab rangoon had crab in it. Best wonton soup I have had. Some of the reviews on here seem like they are for some other place since my experiences here have been so much different, in a good way.

The food is the best in the Oxford, Sutton, Douglas area. Kenny is always welcoming and the waitstaff is very attentive.

Service was great. Amber and Jill were pleasant and efficient. Kenny was a gem.. food was really good but cooled off really fast. All in all a pleasant experience

Skip this place. Got take out, food was gross. I’ve lived in town all my life and now I don’t wonder why my family never took us here growing up. The only good thing about my food was the white rice (not that anyone can mess that up) and the beef teriyaki. Crab ragoons were tasteless and had no crab. Scallion pancakes were greasy and you could tell they were reheated. I could only eat one.

My family has been going to the Happy Garden for years. If you want great American-​style chinese food at a good price, this is the place to go! The combination plates are great, the Hunan Chicken and the Szchuan Trio in particular. The bar has a great atmosphere, sports games and keno. The drinks are great too — I especially like the Mai Tais and Planter’s Punch!

Right down the middle with this but what gave the third star was the waitress Jill, the owner lady, miss tude, would have gotten 1 star, she needs to be back in the office, the crispy fried chili beef was nowhere near crispy and the rice was not soft but the teriyaki beef stick was good, they do not have iced tea but the bartender was a sweet heart and made me Chinese iced tea.

This place is a dump.

I’ve been eating at the Happy Garden for years and years, and it has the best General Gau’s chicken in probably all of Worcester county. I’ve eaten at dozens of other other Chinese places all around, and none have compared. The other food on the menu I’ve had has been consistently good too, but yeah, the General Gau’s is heavenly.
The restaurant’s only direct, nearby competition in terms of quality is the Empire Wok in Webster a few miles away, and that’s only because of their buffet. In terms of sheer entrée quality, this place beats them hands down.
