This is the original McAlister’s Deli that has expanded out to all over the south and the midwest. It used to be a gas station garage, so it still has the sliding garage doors and other little things. There’s also an Olé Miss feel, as it is in Oxford. I got the soup and half sandwich combo. The country potato soup was hearty and delicious with lots of potatoes. The grilled horseradish roast beef and cheddar was just alright — not amazing and dinky in size, even for a half sandwich. My friend got one of the big baked potatoes, which is probably what I should have gotten. The famous sweet tea was ginormous. Service was top-notch.
