This Walmart is a mixed bag. While there are a number of employees that are kind, there are also too many that I feel are openly rude to customers. There have been a number of times when I’ve had issues with the U-Scan only for an employee to tell me that they were on their break as they lean against the counter and talk to one of their colleagues. When I used to work at Kroger here in Oxford, workers were encouraged to use the break room during their breaks to avoid those types of situations. Nonetheless, they are convenient(although not conveniently located) and I get many of my electronics from here. I will continue to shop here, but I do think quite a few people here need an attitude adjustment. The manager, nonetheless, is very kind and has made me feel appreciated.

This place is chronically understaffed to an even larger degree than most other Wal Marts. It’s damn near impossible to get help with anything. Today I waited over 45 min just to pay for my oil change. Never mind how long it took them to actually get it done.

As far as Wal-Marts go, this one is far better than most, especially when you consider that this is the main Wal-Mart for the entirety of the college population of Miami University. The store is well kept, well organized, the deli has fresh and well made sandwiches if you’re trying to avoid fast food. Best of all, and I can’t stress this enough, they have self checkout lanes. I have been to far too many Wal-Marts that lack self checkout lanes and I have to admit, I will do anything I can to avoid human interaction when I go to Wal-Mart, and the ability to grab what I need while I’m lost in my own thoughts, and quickly check out myself and move on with my day leaves me with a great mental image from my experience in the store.

Really? Wally-world? Again? I still don’t love going to these places, but this Walmart made for a pretty nice stop on our way out to the campsite at Hueston Woods. There was plenty of stuff to pour over throughout the store. Like $ 200 of it. I think we had more items at our campsite than I do in my home. Roughing it? As always, we had to ask for directions within the store twice to find everything we «needed» for camping. It’s an easy place to get lost. They had some cool stacked soda can sculptures in the store and one of those crazy Dr. Scholl’s custom fit orthotics machines that we played with for roughly an hour. This Walmart also sports a Subway in case you want to grab a quick sandwich while your friends are looking for ice. I got a pretty good deal on an all-purpose knife and a bouncy ball. That’s seriously all the things I needed for camping. How did we come out to $ 200?

What I like about this walmart is that I am actually greeted every time I go in. Walmart is walmart but this one has a great selection of a ton of stuff mainly because it’s in a college town i’m sure. It also isn’t dirty like a lot of walmarts.
