Went to go there for breakfast today and the place was burned down to the ground. Apparently the fryer malfunctioned last night and ignited. Oh well. Maybe they’ll rebuild. I’m off to The Best Breakfast & Lunch Café down the street on Saviers!

Well ill just keep this review short and straight to the point. The food was great i really liked it. We got serve in a decent amount of time especially for being Sunday morning. Presentation wise it wasn’t the best. A nice detailed clean now and then wouldn’t hurt.

Great food for the price, gets busy on Sunday morning so expect to wait in line especially if you have a large party,. The wait staff is very nice and willing to accommodate most reasonable request. I have only had breakfast here so can’t comment on lunch or dinner

Definitely an old school diner and its always packed on the weekends for breakfast. My husband and I have been here a couple of times and its been very good both times. Yesterday he ordered the ‘Special #2′ which comes with 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, and 2 sausage. Basic breakfast and he had no complaints. I ordered the omelet special which was written on the board. It had bacon, spinach, mushrooms and jack cheese. I skipped the potatoes(even though I love hash browns) and opted for cottage cheese instead. The omelet was nothing to look at but it was delicious. I loved it. Total with coffee and an iced tea came to $ 21. That is very reasonable. It’s good, the prices are right, and it’s so close to our house that I am sure we will be back.

Went to Henri’s with my wife just before a symphony concert in Oxnard. It is a charming old fashioned diner with decent food. My favorite thing about this place is the fact that the entire kitchen is right behind the bar. That way you can observe the chef work his magic. I ordered the Patty Melt, which was very good. The rye bread was very flavorful and had plenty of butter; the party was perfectly cooked medium; the cheese melted nicely; and the onions beautifully caramelized. I had onion rings in the side, which were battered, not breaded, which I prefer. My wife ordered the burger, which was also cooked to a perfect medium. The veggies were very fresh and crisp. The fries had a pleasant texture(crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside), but were somewhat under seasoned. They were somewhat understaffed but the server was quick, friendly, and efficient. Watching the chef quickly go through orders was impressive. The only complaint is the bathroom: it was filthy, so they lose one sat for that. Perhaps if they had one more person on staff, they could’ve taken care of that.

The eggs are just better here: tastier and the the yolks are more golden, The egg salad is better. The pancakes are a the of beauty. The hash browns are crispy and not greasy. I love the short-order, open diner style. The chef comes out in his nice white uniform and produces breakfast and lunch items, simultaneously right before your eyes. It is nothing short of amazing, Fast, friendly service. They are attentive with coffee refills and priced reasonably. I like the parking because I can see my car.

There’s a first time for everything… Unilocal finally let me down. Henry’s was well reviewed and it was just plain disappointing. Went there for lunch midday on Thursday and place was empty, not a good sign. We got seated immediately and ordered drinks, then our waitress disappeared for a good 10 min, another guy who I assume was a cashier then took our order as he saw we’d been there for what seemed like an eternity. Food arrived and was just very bland. Did I mention it was like 95 degrees inside? Never again Henris

So after we left the nearby, terrible Thomas’s Café, we landed here!!! What a difference! Pros: Ample parking. Friendly, accommodating service. Club sandwich made with REALTURKEY! Very good chili! Generous senior menu! Cons: It’s hot! But you can sit between the front and back open doors for a cooler experience. Décor could use an update, but it makes for a true American diner experience! Bottom Line: Great for breakfast or lunch! Try it!!!

Tried this place for the first time for a couple of reasons. 1. The reviews on Unilocal seemed like it’s a hit and 2. I’m on a mission to find which spot in the county has the best chicken & waffles. I wanted to give this place 5 stars because the food was fantastic, but a few things just weren’t right. We got there and it was crowded. After putting our name on the list we asked for a menu and the lady in the front said«ok» then walked away. WTF right. Five minutes later we finally got a table. I put my phone down in the corner of the table, picked it up a few seconds later and noticed that it was all sticky. So i looked at the area where all the condiments were and noticed it was filthy. So of course I was turned off immediately. There were a couple of guys sitting across from us who got there over 10 mins after us and yet they still got their food before us. It was really difficult to flag a person down to get anything. We never got any refills on our drinks. They can’t even use the excuse that they’re busy because there are places like BGs Café and Café Amri where despite it being super busy still manage to provide excellent service. So basically, good food, but shitty service and the place needs a good and thorough cleaning. Not sure if I’ll ever come back.

This place was adorable and it was everything I would have expected in a small town diner. Floral wallpaper, upholstery to match the wallpaper color, and china adorning the walls. I felt right at home — I don’t need anything fancy, just give me a cute little diner. I ordered the hot turkey sandwich, which is an open faced sandwich that comes with mashed potatoes, turkey, and gravy, with fries and cranberry sauce on the side. The waitress asked me if I wanted gravy on my fries, too, and I went for it. That sandwich was delicious — lots of turkey and lots of gravy. The gravy was clearly homemade and it was fantastic; I was using the bread to wipe up every bit of that gravy. The fries were perfectly crisp on their own, and paired with the gravy, I was in fry heaven. The cranberry sauce appeared to be homemade, too — at the very least, it wasn’t the stuff you get from a can. My grandparents liked their food, too. The vegetable soup was said to be very good and clearly homemade and the vegetables that came with the steak were not bland. Every plate at the table was cleaned, if that is any indication as to how much we enjoyed our meals. Funny story — my Grandma didn’t think I could eat all the food on my plate, so I ate every last bit of it. I am a food eating machine. If you’re driving on Highway 1 and you want something tasty and filling to eat, I highly recommend this place. It’s only a little more than two miles from the highway and very easy to find. They have something for everyone here and it’s good food that is clearly made with care.

This place is amazing! They’ve got this Delicious honey coated fried chicken. It’s truly a gift from the gods– especially when paired with a Belgian waffle. It’s simply the best thing I’ve eaten in a very long time. I loved the decorations of the restaurant. It feels like grandmas house and has all the feeling of being home. Don’t think twice about coming here, just come and order chicken and waffles. It’s not a labeled plate on the menu but you can order them a la carte and have a delicious meal. I look forward to when I can come back here. The service was fast, friendly and the food was well worth the drive. My friend ordered the corn beef had breakfast and with my plate and hot tea it came out to 20.70. Another awesome thing about this spot. The pricing is good.

Classic diner! One of the few remaining in our area. This building has been here forever, although, the names have changed a few times. Why venture here? Well, I enjoy Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles, but requires too much travel time from Oxnard. Not many options locally to satisfy Roscoe’s cravings. Dragged my family here based on Abby L.‘s review about the fried chicken & found out they served waffles, too. Friendly welcome as we walked through the door & seated promptly. Place has an old rustic divey vibe. There’s no menu item labeled chicken & waffles so I mixed 2 menu items together: Belgian Waffle + Honey-dipped Fried Chicken meal. Good waffle, nothing to complain about. The chicken… wasn’t expecting much, but it was REALLY good! Perfectly cooked meat with a wonderful sweet crunch to the outside. This chicken definitely gives Roscoe’s a run for its money! Still love Roscoe’s, however, it’s nice to have found a convenient local substitute. Service was attentive. Prices were reasonable. Overall, a pleasant experience! A fan of their chicken & waffle for sure! Trying to turn into Henri’s can be a challenge. Just remember it’s on the NE corner of «5 Points» in Oxnard. Parking has never been a problem.
