Best Tacos In Town. Everything else on the menu is also delicious. Also try their shrimp caldo. Their Cucumber water is delicious as well.

If you’re looking for authentic taco spots, this is the place to go to. Located in downtown Oxnard, it’s easy to miss if you’re not looking for it. But it’s been around for years. Family owned, and they’re still the ones serving and cooking. Corn tortillas are made fresh and they’re so moist. The meats are well cooked you wouldn’t need to add anything. Quick service, little to no wait. There’s a lot of space to sit – one long table in the middle, cafeteria style and other smaller seats scattered around. Order the tacos, they’re my favorite. My husband and I got 6 tacos, one sope and horchata. $ 11 was our total.

I have been coming here since I was a kid. Owner still runs business everyday. Nothing has changed. Great service great food. I still pick up my usual 5 asada tacos(con todo) and a coke still wrapped in foil and in a brown paper bag, nothing has changed because it is good as it is. I also recommend the birria here and menudo! Delish!!!

My friend went here a lot when he was younger because he grew up in Oxnard. He took me here recently twice. Tacos are about $ 1 each. I love cilantro and I was bummed they didn’t have any or even a salsa bar. I haven’t been to a lot of taco places in the Oxnard/Ventura area so I don’t know what to compare it to.

I haven’t had Tacos D.F. in a while and I just happen to have my Ventura County Star Card(20% off food and drink purchase, which Tacos D.F. was listed under the many restaurants) so I thought it would be a great time to get some tacos :) I was the only customer in the restaurant at 4pm and I order 3 asada tacos and 3 pastor tacos. Tacos are priced $ 1.00 + tax(which is pretty cheap compared to $ 1.20 at El Taco De Mexico) and when I asked if they accept the Ventura County Star Card discount, the employee said that was a promotion from a long time ago but since the card didn’t expire, they were willing to give me a discount this time only. My tacos came out to be $ 5 and I was thankful to get some kind of deal(though it seemed like business was kinda slow). My favorite were the asada tacos and pastor was alright. Same great flavor of mild salsa, cilantro and onions on their delicious tortillas: D

I ordered four tacos, and they came(and they will come) – about the size of your fist – on hot, fresh corn tortillas, stuffed full of pastor, or asada, or carnitas, and then laced with chopped onion, cilantro, and drizzled with mild verde or spicy red sauce. I used to get street tacos in Mexico and dreamed about them. Finally, I have found a place where those dreams can be realized. $ 1 for 1 taco. I was stuffed on 4 bucks. They have other food stuffs that I have not tried(I’m only here for the tacos), and canned and bottled drinks. They are located in an area of Oxnard that might not look all that delicious, but don’t judge a book by its cover, Jah know? I work down the street, and found this place by chance on my way to the Subway(not like a transportation subway, but the place that makes sandwiches) Anyway, if you like little street tacos, you should come here, put a taco in your mouth, shut up and chew.

I just moved to Ventura County 1 month ago and I always find myself stopping here for alpastor tacos or tortas. I just moved back from Mexico and I can tell you these tacos are the closest to the ones I would eat over there. the only reason I won’t give it a 5 star is because of the closing time. Moving here from L. A county I’m used to places open till at least 10 pm. othere than that, you have to stop by here for tacos!

Im telling you right here and now the BESTGORDITAS ever made in a restaurant. They are just like my childhood years in Mexico. I try to eat two but can never make it past one and a half. The rest of the food is ok, i suppose, but I only go for the gorditas, theyre EXCELLENT! They’re not sopes, they’re GORDITAS! You gotta try ‘em to believe me.

Burrito Al Pastor — Under $ 4 and you get what you pay for. The beans were refried and tasted like they were from a can. The meat tasted like chili instead of spicy pork. The burrito wasn’t mixed well. Meat over here. beans over there. Taco de Carne Asada — Meat was okay, but the salsa was weird and a little unpleasant. There was an infomercial playing on the TV. Annoying. If you’re going to have a TV on, play something interesting and/or pleasant. There is a sign on the wall that reads: «No food or drinks allowed» I’m not going back.

Looks like I found my new $ 1 taco joint in the 805 – ’nuff said. Key factor: homemade corn tortillas. Thick, yet fluffy, with a soft and chewy consistency. Probably one of the best corn tortillas I’ve had. I dig the horchata here! The rice flavor is more prominent and the cinnamon is very subtle. Refreshing if your mouth is burning from the grilled jalapeños they offer at the counter. And yes, their carne asada burritos pass the test. Kinda bean-y, but I like it! I nicked a star off only because the meats here aren’t as tasty as other Mexican joints. The carne asada is choice, but the al pastor and buche(two already flavorful meats) failed to thrill me. Bottom line: come here for the $ 1 tacos and horchata. PS: It’s not on the menu, but they have french fries! Haha, seasoned fries like the kind you get at Denny’s or at the frozen aisle in Costco – whatever. Anyway, $ 3 for a plateful! Oxnard hasn’t caught onto the carne asada fries/California burrito trend, so I’m pretty sure they don’t offer it. But… tacos + french fries = for me this is heaven.

Ever since El Taco De Mexico left Camarillo, this was my place for menudo(served sat and sun only). I also tend to pick up tacos($ 1/each) and love the selection of meat(carne asada, sesos, buche, carnitas, al pastor, cabeza). I always get a great bowl of menudo at this spot. Broth is always flavorful without being overly spicy, with hominy. You also get a choice of tortillas(corn or flour), side of chopped onions, dried pepper flakes, dried oregano? Their tacos are al carbon style(meat, onions, cilantro, hot sauce). I love this place. If you’re ever in the area, stop by for a $ 1 taco, or menudo on the weekend.
