Last week, my furnace went on the blink. When it’s 57 degrees in your house and not getting warmer, you become very motivated to find someone to repair your furnace pronto! I was mentioning my predicament to a board member who told me she had just had Anthony from Coastside Mechanical repair her furnace and was very pleased with his service. Would I be interested in his number? Oh yes! I called Anthony who came out to my house in the evening to inspect my ailing furnace. Taking off the cover and inspecting it, he told me it needed a new gas value and was good practice to replace the pilot light assembly as well. He told me he’d need to order the parts and they would come in on Friday. In the meantime, he cleaned out the interior of the furnace, moving a chest of drawers near the furnace and replacing it without being asked. Anthony was prompt, easy to work with and friendly. After fixing my furnace, he also showed me how to program my thermostat which I’d found daunting despite having read the instructions. Now my furnace works like a charm, and the heat turns on before I wake up as well as just before I come home. Anthony said the difference in having one’s heating system on a regular schedule wouldn’t cost much more than my old system of turning it off and on manually, and was easier on the furnace as it only cycles on and off for a few minutes rather than running for 30 minutes to achieve the desired temp done on a manual basis. If you need HVAC help, call Anthony.
