Pastelitos con pollo y pupusas de revueltas, $ 11 con un botellita de agua. ¡Qué rico! Highly recommend their pupusas $ 1.80 for revueltas with plenty curtido and salsa to go. The pasteles were like deep fried tamales, really yummy & affordable! Must try if you’re in Pacoima ;)

I fell right in love with this place. Being from salvadorean descent, I’m kinda picky when it comes to my Salvi food. I came here with my bf, because of the Unilocal reviews. I can honestly say they did not disappoint. This hole in the wall is a golden spot. First of all, I felt I was back in El salvador. The staff had that old school Salvi friendliness. «AL la orden». The staff are super friendly and attentive. The pupusas were amazing. Good consistency, my pupusas were not greasy or did not lack the yummy filling. I had revueltas and queso de loroco. We also had a breakfast platter and OMG the salsa they put on the eggs amazing, giving them a great taste for my over easy eggs. Overall this is a gem stop, not to forget $ 1pupusas on Mondays. Definitely will be coming here again. Oh FYI they are open from 8 – 8 but close on Wednesdays. :)

If you live near by, you must try this Pupeseria. Their menu has a variety of Pupusas(including vegetarian), Yuca, Tamales, Empanadas, Taquitos, Mojarra Frita(Fried fish), cakes. The restaurant is a very small with mismatched chairs, run by a brother-sister team. Sister is in the kitchen while brother serves with a gentle smile. Most surprising was how quick the food come out. Overall, it’s an authentic taste of homemade Salvadorean foods.

$ 1 revueltas on Mondays. Curtido done well. Worth the drive from La Crescenta. Small restaurant with not much décor but staff very friendly and welcoming.

Little hole in the wall place. Very simple décor, leaves much to be desired, but the pupusas are AMAZING! They are a bit small compared to other places but definitely worth it. They are made to order and come out nice and hot! The curtido(cabbage and carrots in vinegar… amazing!) was fresh and flavorful. The salsa was delicious but not as spicy as I’m used to. Also tried the empanadas de leche, which is basically milk custard covered in plantain dough(cooked and mashed plantains) that is then fried and rolled in sugar. Very sweet and the filling is heaven! Lastly, I had the«ensalada» which is a popular drink in el salvador of diced fruits(mango, pineapple, orange, apples) It was sweet and refreshing. Overall, I couldn’t have asked for more. The service was great and the food delicious. I will definitely be back.

It’s a low key place but the taste is amazing. The pupusas were great and the staff were super friendly. The pupusas were perfect with not too much masa. And the curtido was on point I definitely want to come back for the $ 1 Monday special.

Cordial, nice people. The service was quick. Plentiful for the price. The pupusas are authentic, not greasy. Freshly made. The fried yucca with carnitas plate can probably feed 4. My little girls and I really enjoy this restaurant. It’s become one of our favorites. I’m always exposing my girls to other ethnic foods for education and they have made this one a top choice. ***** We tried the Salvadorian Restaurant at El Carbonero(10720 Sepulveda Blvd, Mission Hills) We waited forever to be served. The waitress kept avoiding us, even after standing at the counter. She looked at us funny, when I speak fluent spanish, as if she couldn’t understand my questions. I will NEVER come back to this place. Serious thumbs down. The food was OK, however, not worth my hard earned dollar.

Usualmente compro la especial de pupusas los lunes. El motivo que les dí nomás 4 estrellas es porque varias veces se han equivocado en mi orden. Usually I get the monday specials of pupusas for .99 each one. The reason that I rated it 4 stars is beacause I“ve gotten my order wrong. But otherwise the food is good. and the place is small but clean.

OMG!!! I am defenity a fan! $ 1 pupusas! I can eat em all night long. The Curtido is really good. Tastes fresh. And of course, the pupusas were delicious. Really, they were. Also ordered the yucca frita(see pic) and ensalada as my drink. Unfortunately they were out of the atol de elote. :( It’s a small little restaurant and you have to find parking on the street but the service is really good. The young man who took our order also mans the register and has great customer service. My friend ordered the sopa de pata and it took a little longer than usual but they were very apologetic and it looked like they mean it, which i appreciate. If I am ever nearby and in the mood for good food, I’m coming here.

I was riding with a friend who had never been to a bar before and didn’t think he’d ever had Salvadoran food. My man, it is time to broaden your horizons! The chicharones, mixto and frijoles pupusas were pretty tasty. The queso y loroco seemed somehow to be missing loroco and they were also out of ensalada drink. Too bad. But the curtido was amazing, the other aguas frescas were solid and the owners were very friendly. A good, solid introduction to Salvadoran people and their remarkable food. 2013 #33 /365
