The range was excellent and the taste was incredible. My personal favourite was Mango but the selection is phenomenal and they will let you try before you buy. I will definitely be back, and to top it off the staff were really courteous as well. Perfect stop for any pick me up.

Food = 5(this place gets a 5 for the Liliko’i(lee-lee-co e) «Passion fruit» and goat cheese Gelato alone. This is the best thing I’ve ever tasted… bar none.) Price = it doesn’t matter Experience = very chilled in Paia

Drove to Paia from Makawao just for the gelato. Pretty good soft and smooth. Melts quickly so eat fast. They make fresh daily. There’s a section for non-dairy and dairy. I had cheesecake and peanut butter. My daughter had vanilla. We brought the lilikoi and sandy beach home in quarts. I also sampled the tiramisu. Cheesecake was pretty good. The vanilla tasted like marshmallow crème. Sandy beach tastes like peanut butter with chunks of coconut. Ooh hands down is the lilikoi. I am not a fruit fan but they just did it right. The combination… I don’t know but it was fabulous! Down side — Few seats to sit, scattered lines, parking sucks and not a fan of the drive. Oh and I wish they made an Oreo flavor!

I have been here twice, Lets start off the with good They do let you sample there Gelato flavors and they do have Local Flavors such as Lili koi and Guava, I noticed the chocolate based Flavors sold the best during last nights visit. Here is where I think our visit took a weird turn my friend asked for a Flavor that did not currently have fresh in the display case. So the scooper behind counter put the hard sell on my Friend to buy Two pints of flavor from the take out case saying it was on great deal because it was on sale. This suggestion was not going to meet our needs. I decided to ask the scooper to stop her sales pitch and fill our order. The Gelato is good-I but have had much better off Island.

Meh. Really just meh. Expensive for what you get. Not very gelato-ee. More like sorbet in texture. The four flavors we got between the two of us were lacking in any gelato creaminess. Talenti gelato, which you can find at most grocery stores, is 100% better than the«gelato» we got from here, and is cheaper. Also lacking at this place is any line control. I had people walk up in front of me to look at the flavor choices who then got service before i did. Pretty lame. Also no seating inside or out. Really no reason to go back here. Too bad. We had been wanting to try this place out for the last couple of weeks but the lines kept us away. Now, after eating the gelato, i really don’t understand the lines.

This gelato is full of fillers. Read the ingredients on the box. We had the vanilla and we could no taste the flavor at all. Felt sick after eating it.

Tried this place after dinner at Flatbread, and was very happy. Staff were friendly and helpful in offering taste tests – each flavor was delightful; I chose a coconut and chocolate combo. Chocolate was pretty good, but coconut was better. Overall, great little place!

Stopped here for a delicious dessert after lunch in this quaint little town centre. The staff are soooo nice. They have some unique flavours like the coconut chai… Try it. Eat it! It’s so cool and refreshing. The mango is also very good. Tastes like real mango and not the artificial kind. Compared to most gelato places, this one is a little bit pricey. The small size only gets you one flavour whereas most places will give you two. It’s a clean place with a little shop area selling local coffee and treats. Some souvenirs are also available. Be sure to try the coconut chai… It’s sooooo good!

This place rocks. Only problem with this joint is that I’m thinking about it right now and can’t wait to go back. Oh, and every flavor was delicious which made it very hard to decide what to get. Do yourself a favor and go get some gelato here!

Nice place but was expecting more. Maybe I should have tried more unusual flavors instead of classic ones. I would say moderately pricey($$) instead of $.

This place is honestly just a rip off. You’re better off buying a pint of gelato at mana foods up the street. The smallest size, for which you get 1(!) flavor, is $ 5. And when I say small, I mean small. The one we ordered was okay.

They have pretty good gelato selection; facing the counter, on your left would be non dairy and the left would be with dairy. Myself and the hubby shared a medium(2 flavors) chocolate lava bar and sandy beach(chocolate w/a hint of peanut butter). Prices– Small comes w/one flavor is 4.99 Medium w/2 flavors is 5.99 And L w/3 flavors is 6.99 Their cups are pretty small; similar to dippin dots but maybe even smaller. Ambiance is good as well but lacks sitting areas. Service is okay as well; samples are also available if you just can’t decide what to get.

Yummy gelato, lots of good flavors. Friendly service! No seating, though, so you have to walk around with it – I recommend a cup so it doesn’t drip. Had this every night for 10 days, lol.

I’m not sure what all the hype is about? The gelato was average for me. I’ve had much better. Traffic on a Sunday was a nightmare getting in and out of Paia. There was a line out the door here and only one person working; at least she was friendly and fairly quick. tiny portion for the price; only gelato place I’ve been to where they portion the gelato to the top of cup. So for $ 6 a tiny portion.

I’m all about finding good ono gelato but unfortunately you have to pay a hefty price for it. I will say that I have been spoiled good after having a variety of amazing gelato in Italy at such reasonable prices. Ono gelato offers a variety of your standard american flavors and also some fun Hawaiian flavors like lilikoi, passion fruit, guava, coconut, and mango. We opted for more local fruit flavors and they were true to the taste of the fruit. I liked the lilikoi where you get an extra crunch inside. The gelato isn’t your typical italian form, it is more like a taste of Hawaii and not as creamy like they normally do. It tastes more like a refreshing sorbet with the tropical flavors. Customer service is good as they let you sample different flavors without any hesitation. Then why just 3 stars? The hefty prices and small portions. The gelato has to be the best gelato out there if the smallest scoop starts around $ 5 for a teeny tiny cup. Most gelato places usually slather on the scoops on top of another but unfortunately, they stop the limit right at the tip of the cup making it flat and even. There are multiple locations throughout Maui so only stop by if you really want something sweet. Otherwise, gocheck out Island Cream Co, a new ice cream joint that serves good creamy homemade ice cream. Owner is super friendly, go support him!

My mouth immediately begins to water when I walk or drive by an Ono Gelato location… and writing this review, remembering my last experience, makes me want to skip dinner and go straight there. I love that their gelato is made fresh and incorporates local ingredients. I haven’t counted, but they have roughly 20+ flavors. Some are non dairy sorbets. I don’t prefer the fruit sorbets as much. But they are still tasty. Dark Chocolate is the one sorbet exception which taste like creamy fudge almost, so good! The staff is usually pretty friendly and helpful. I try not to annoy them by limiting my samples. However, one awesome staffer suggested the flavor combo of coconut & dark chocolate. After I’d already ordered, she gave me a spoon of each to try together. It was so tasty. The coconut is my favorite, made with fresh real coconut — not extract or artificial flavors. A close second is the Kona Coffee and the mango. For something really unique and delicious, try the lilikoi quark. I could eat scoops of that. This is a must try place in my opinion. If you’re a visitor, try it early in your visit because you’ll want to go back.
