They are famous for their noodles and dumplings, which is wha I go for along with the mung bean pancakes. If your cereal about your wet Korean noodles, this shop will get you dancing gangnam style.

I grew up in Korea and the dishes Youchun sell are those I ate while growing up, all year round. I’ve tried both of their cold and hot noodle dishes. I like their cold dishes much more and now that summer is just around the corner, it’s a nice option to have whenever we are in the area. I love red spicy pepper paste based cold noodles and I make them all the time at home. But the homemade dish is not the same as that I get from Youchun. In a painfully honest way, restaurants use lots of processed ingredients and MSGs to make their dish more flavorful and tasty. I can tell because whenever I eat out, especially at Korean restaurants, I lack energy and become sleepy. I don’t have that when I cook my own food, using only the fresh and the less processed ingredients. Anyway, aside from that, their potion is huge. The two of us always get the cold red noodles and additional noodles, and we still end up with leftovers. We both didn’t enjoy the slate fish taste and the texture, so we always order the noodles without the fish. When we ordered the mung bean pancakes last time we were at the restaurant, we basically inhaled all of them. We contemplated placing one more order to go, but I remembered that I had mung beans at home. So we went home and cooked ourselves some more of those mung bean pancakes, big and plenty enough for us to have some for the night and for next day’s lunch. I realized the restaurant must be using lots of oil when frying the pancakes for them to get to that level of crispness. Almost to a degree of deep frying. But hey, it’s a restaurant. Their side dishes are good, but they have always been the same since our first visit earlier this year. Hope they would have more varieties. Their frozen dumplings are fairly good as well. They come with some broth that you can use to make the dumpling soup, but we use the broth for cooking other soups, pan fry the dumplings. The frozen dumplings are just so convenient and easy meal that can be bought on your way out from the restaurant. All staffs have been nice and the service has been quick and attentive.

I always get the small nengmyun and the meat dumplings. The meat dumplings taste better than the kimchi ones in my opinion – and I generally love kimchi. They give you beef broth, and it’s delicious! Their kalguksoo dish is pretty spot on too! This place is definitely my go to nengmyun place in palisades park.

Nengmyun is the best in the area. The rest of the menu is pretty average. Frozen mandoo dumplings(meat or kimchi) for $ 10 a bag is a good deal and they give you broth with it.

From outside, it looks very secluded and intimidating especially if you’re not Korean. Since most of the advertising, menu, signage, etc are in Korean. But who the hell cares, good food is good food and good food is for everybody! They have really good korean dumplings, freshly steamed to order. They also give you lots of banchan before any meals. Really awesome korean mung bean pancake! Do try the galbi tang, it was amazing! Very reasonably priced and it’s close to lots of Korean cafes to grab dessert afterward.

Approaching You Chun, you can be slightly put off by its outward appearance — it looks like an abandoned old sports bar from the outside. Cast aside your initial trepidation. This place is legit. From the bottled water to the thermos of hot broth when you sit down, this place is very well run. Plentiful and flavorful banchan. We had the traditional bulgogi and the spicy short rib stew — wow — absolutely first rate. Upon leaving and venturing to the back to peek into the kitchen, all that was visible was a small hot plate and a large window refrigerator — what kind of magic is being worked at You Chun to provide patrons with such a delicious meal? Service was polite, laid back yet attentive. We will be back. Loved it.

This place never disappoints. Yes, their nengmyun is the best around, but their other dishes are quite solid. Usually most places have strong specialty dishes, and other dishes are a kind of an after thought or just an add-on for a variety, but this place has great hot dishes and rice dishes. In addition, their apps are not bad either. I enjoy the Korean lentil(?) pancakes-savory, crispy goodness. Their mandoos are also very yummy and filling. Besides nengmyun, I love the yookgejang kalgooksoo, spicy, rich and just satisfying. You need a big appetite to finish this. Just recently I discovered their winter special– soft tofu soup. I was actually going to go to so gong dong, but decided to come here because of the pancakes. They offered 4 varieties I think, even mandoo soft tofu. Whoa! Each just $ 7.99!!! In addition, they offer combo deals like stone pot bowl plus soft tofu soup for only $ 13.99. I tried bibimbap hot stone bowl and the soup. The soup was insanely rich and spicy too(Korean level spicy). I loved the thicker broth in their soup vs the watery broth at sogongdong. Too bad the soft tofu soup deal is just a winter thing. But then again, I’d be just as happy eating their nengmyun when the weather gets warmer.

This place never fails to deliver great Korean food. We got the naengmyun(cold noodles), hae jang gook(cow blood soup), and galbi jjim(braised beef). The naengmyun is always bomb here; never fails. The hae jang gook is refreshing, but the congealed cow blood is something a lot of people don’t enjoy so be aware. The galbi jjim was pretty good, but wayyyy too sweet for my taste. But the one thing I always enjoy here is the soup they give for appetizer. SO good. Again, great Korean food, but they can make some changes to that overly sweet galbi jjim.

Great little Korean place with a limited menu but what they make is jam packed with flavor. The handmade Kimchi dumplings are lite and steamed perfectly, but the Spicy Cold Noodles made me really happy. What really grabbed my attention though was the service. You’re greeted with a warm smile and a sincere hello — not mention the waitstaff’s eagerness to wanting to help. Try it out is all I have to say. Yums!

My first impression of this place was a good one. I really liked all of the ban chans they provided. I also loved the soup in the thermos! So flavorful and hearty. Mixed Dumplings(kimchi and beef): My favorite part of these dumplings is the thin, fresh, al dente skin. I enjoyed the beef ones a bit more. They had some glass noodles inside. The kimchi one was good too, but it was just a little weird to me that the dumplings are sour. Kimchi Pancake: Delicious! It was a really big portion. It had a good amount of scallion and kimchi. Not too doughy like some pancakes I’ve had. Spicy Pork Rib Stew: This soup is quite spicy! Definitely better as a winter dish, but still very tasty. The bones are really big and there is surprisingly a lot of meat on there! Mul Naengmyeon(cold noodles in beef broth): Perfect dish for the summer. The broth is chilled with ice in it. The noodles are chewy and very refreshing. There were some pear slices in it which added a nice kick!

Best nengmyun place in all of Nj/Ny. Im so obsessed with all their noodle dishes and steamed kimchi dumplings. I’ve been coming here for a few years now and i never had one complaint about this place. Even their banchan is delicious! I would highly recommend this place! Great food & great service :)

First of all, I would give 5 stars for the fact that they give you a thermos of bone marrow hot soup and bottled water. My friends love their neng myun. I personally didn’t like that it was spicy; I think I prefer the more traditional style, but the buckwheat noodles were plentiful and the spicy kalbee jjim was delicious.

This isn’t a spot for ‘traditional’ nengmyun(like they serve at Choiga nearby, or at Myung Dong Hamheung Nengmyun, or at Homung). It’s ‘chik’ nengmyun, which might as well be a whole different dish, according to my tastebuds. I crave it sometimes — and when I do I come to You Chun. You Chun offers different sizes — so you can get a smaller bowl to hit that craving, then try some of their dumplings, which are decent. IMHO, the star of the show is their yooksoo /broth /magic canister. It’s unlimited! I like it better here than at other nengmyun spots in Northern NJ(even better than at That Nengmyun Place). Another bonus — they give you individual bottles of Poland Spring :) Street parking is hit or miss since at dinner rush, the whole area gets flooded with hungry people. But if you score, you’ll only need a few quarters and you’re set!

I disagree with the negative reviews. This is one of my favorite places to get mul naengmyun. I order it without the spice on top. The broth is flavorful and you don’t need to add much, if any, vinegar or mustard. The texture of the noodles is just right, not too chewy. It doesn’t come with any meat though… Drink some of the hot yook soo while waiting for your noodles. They give you Poland Spring bottled water which is nice, since I’m not a fan of NJ tap water. They also give you japchae, potato salad, and a small variety of ban chan. On some days the japchae is good. On other days it can be too bland. The mandoo is average so I usually just skip that. Service is quick. I find it strange that they don’t give you spoons for the mul naengmyun unless you ask. Make sure you do, so you can enjoy the refreshing broth.

My goto place for nengmyun in Jersey. They start you off with hot beef broth which I think is used for nengmyun. Love their dumplings and their portion is very generous. I tried both mool and bibim and both tasted great!

I came here for their naengmyun and left satisfied. I got the spicy naengmyun and my companion got the mul naengmyun. Go with mul! Though mine was good, it left me wanting mul! The mul’s broth was clean had solid flavor and you could tell was slow cooked and frozen just right.

I’m giving 2 stars in light of the attentive service. If you want neng myun, go across the street to Choiga– it’s about 50 times better in taste and self service(so no tip). Homung is best and Choiga is a close second in our county. My experience today at You Chun was just as disappointing as it was when it first opened– it’s bland. Not a good mix of the ingredients, like sesame oil. They just added a lot of spice. I’m almost not a fan of putting spice in mul nengmyun. We also ordered a seafood pancake — excessively oily that I got nauseous. Bottled Poland Spring for every patron– the only thing that stood out about this place. The banchan(side dishes) and the neng myuns lacked freshness– and tonight will be the last time I’m coming. A boatload of MSG can’t save the taste.

Big fan of the cold noodle, this is the very few of things I am craving in hot summer days!!! I always order petite size of cold noodle, the noodle is good enough for 1 people, and since cold noodle is not good for take the leftover home, if you are a small eater or you are not that hungry, I would recommend you to order the petite size of cold noodle. The petite size is still with good amount of noodle and the side dishes and hot beef soup can definitely feed you up!
