SUPRISED — THINGSAREBELOWAVERAGEINSPA We checked into the spa and all seemed well. However, when we went outside and entered the Red Sea pool, there was a lot of hair floating on the surface, like the pool skimmer wasn’t working. This had to have not been working for some time, as there was a lot of hair — and this made me wonder how clean the water was of bacteria and whether the pool filter was also not working. Since our spa visit occurred in January 2016, we were taken back by the aged locker rooms, especially since their website had a claim of, «Our four-year, $ 100-million-dollar, resort-wide renovation.» The food and service served around the outside pool were above average. Finally, the massage was below average. They guy had long fingernails that hurt me when he performed the massage. When it was over, I provided him that feedback, but he disagreed — why would anyone disagree? Either way, we spent $ 450 that day and I will not go back.

My husband and I arrived 15 minutes prior to our massage time(4 pm). After check-in, we weren’t called until 4:10. The front desk never checked us in with our masseuses, who still stopped our massages precisely at 4:50. Massages were good, but we’re very unhappy about the lost time and money due to no fault of our own.

I have been to the spa a few times for spa services. In the past the service was great. This morning, I called and was placed on hold only to receive an automated voice message and I left my contact information for someone to return my call for an appointment. No one called. I was in the area, stopped in and went to the spa front desk. The woman was immediately cold and unprofessional. I explained that I left a message for someone to call me back because the automated message stated that all representatives were busy at the time, I didn’t even receive a compassionate«oh, I’m sorry about that, how can I help you»? Instead she looked down and didn’t acknowledge my statement. I asked her for a list of facial services and she didn’t know where the list was located. At that point, two other receptionists came along to help other guests and they saw that she was looking for a list of services. Which they had to direct her to. She asked me in a snotty tone if I would like to book today, and I stated that I would like to review the service list first. I became so turned off by the experience with her that I said that I would keep the list for future reference and said thank you, because I am a classy woman. As I was leaving she didn’t say a word. Very cold. There are other places I will take my business to and spend my money on from this point forward. I do hope that the managers see this review, so that they can better train and hire more friendly, helpful and knowledgable staff in the future.

PGABLAH is more accurate. What was once an amazing escape has become an over crowded, poorly managed affair. As a mother I come here for a day off. To relax and unwind. Not spend my time waiting in line for lunch or using a plastic chair pulled from the shed and squeezed into a spot behind other people. This is not a reflection of the employees. They do what they can but would it hurt to staff a few more people? We have been coming here for years and the new changes have ended that run. Get it together PGA.

I am a self proclaimed spa junkie. I heard great things about this spa and was excited to try it. The treatments are extremely expensive(I went during a promo). It was a really nice experience. They had mineral pools outside — which was a nice treat(something different than the usual — sauna/steam room). The treatment itself was very good. The therapist was strong and listened to my requests. It was a very relaxing afternoon!

The spa was fine-not mind blowing, and the staff there was okay. I am giving this place five stars because of the amazing massage I had with Mary Smith. While I know that her style(cranial sacral) definitely isn’t for everyone, it worked wonders on me. I have been in severe pain for months and I walked out feeling night and day better. Thank you so so much!

Nothing extraordinary. Spa could really use a renovation, especially in the sauna/whirlpool area. Whirlpool was dirty and the light were bright. Reminded me of a high school shower room. Mineral pools outside were nice, lots of bugs floating around, but they can’t help that. Very relaxing none the less. Definitely need more servers outside. We sat there for 45 minutes, never received service, even when the server said she would be right over. My masseuse was great. Massage was on point. Got a scrub, really didn’t like the way the scrub room was. They close at 6pm. My appt ended at 5:50pm. I was changing and they were literally standing there and picked up the robe instantly, my feet weren’t even out of my sandals and she was trying to take them. A little awkward having them stand there and watch you change. Lights were off as we walked out at 5:55. Didn’t even give me an opportunity to shower before I got dressed because I was practically being kicked out. I guess all in all it felt more of like a medical institute or a outdated high school gym than a true spa. I don’t think I will be returning.

This review is from April 5.- I used to love this place, back when it opened. What happened? I recently moved back to the area and am in need of finding a good nail tech who does gel and a good hairdresser. I’ve had no luck so far so I figure, PGA National, you spend more, but at least I’ll get top quality and service. I spent over $ 400 that day, having a massage, hair color, cut, pedicure and what was supposed to be gel nails. The good: my hairdresser was so nice and so were her assistants who helped with the wash and color. The color came out fabulous. I gave her the«recipe» from my Chicago stylist and even though the product is different, she had no problem. Reception was great and wanted to be as accommodating as possible. The woman who showed me to the locker room; also fantastic and helpful and kind. The locker room was also fine, but it stops there. The bad: The little things like the furniture fabrics falling apart in the waiting area, the clock is set to 6pm in the hot tub area, when it’s really 9am, the ceiling looks old and the air duct grates look like they could use replacing. I arrived at 9am and they had not yet put the washcloths out in the steam room area. The woman who was putting things together there was very unfriendly, almost hit me with the door not once, but twice(she didn’t look to see if anyone was coming; just plowed through), I asked her what time it was and she seemed very inconvenienced to answer. I mentioned the clock was wrong, but she did nothing to fix it. She just said, «I know.» How is someone supposed to be on time for a massage if you don’t know what time it is? My massage, which I asked for deep tissue and the strongest person they had, was not very good. The man, as nice as he was, had very shaky hands. It was not at all relaxing. The pool area, I agree with a previous review, was full of hotel guests who sat around talking loudly and drinking. I ordered a salad and the server actually tried to push alcoholic drinks on me. It was as if drinking was supposed to be part of the relaxing spa experience. That may be fine for others, but I wasn’t interested at 11am. My hair and nail service was at the end of the day and I was just a little turned off at this point, but not annoyed. That came with my nail tech experience. I cannot believe the things she did. I have a different kind of gel on my nails and while she was doing my pedicure she was asking how to get the gel off my nails. I said you have to file it down. She proceeded to get a bowl of acetone and put it on my lap(over my nice clothes) while she attempted to do a pedicure; lifting and lowering my legs into the tub with acetone splashing around. The acetone did nothing for my nails and she finally took the tub away before it ruined my clothes. Then she was annoyed, visibly — rolling her eyes and sighing. She sat me down finally to attempt the nails and said they don’t do gels. The desk told me they did. She kept shaking her head as she was trying to file down the gel, that she asked over and over how my nail tech had done it before and I kept telling her. She treated me as if I were stupid and as if I were inconveniencing her. I finally told her just to give me a regular french manicure and she said«I think that’s a good idea.» She was absolutely horrible and extremely unfriendly to boot. Needless to say, I doubt I will ever return to this spa. Too bad. I used to love it — a former piece of paradise gone bad.

My best friend and I purchased a Living Social deal for this place that included an one hour swedish massage, lunch and access to the properties four pools and grounds(sauna, etc.). Upon arrival, I was just blown away… this place is extremely nice and very classy. My friend and I checked in and were given a tour of the entire facility. We got to our lockers and changed and then sat in the staging area or waiting room to be called for our massages. There was fresh fruit, tea, water and coffee for us to have. My massage was top notch. I pretty sure i was snoring at one point because I was so relaxed. After our experience with the massages, my friend and decided to add pedicures to our day and picked the 75 minute reflexology massage. This was not part of the living social deal but we figured we were worth the extra splurge. There was a few hours between our massage and pedicure so we went out to have lunch by the pools. The food was ok but nothing I would brag about… I guess that is why it was free. The server poolside was originally very grouchy and not helpful. When we were done with lunch she finally smiled and told us to have a great day. She was really busy so I will give her that but I expected a little bit more from the servers at such a nice place. I have to assume that she was only like that because we had the Living Social deal and were not club members. After lunch my friend and I soaked in all of the pools — my favorite was the French saltwater pool. We enjoyed some alcoholic beverages and just relaxed. We then went into the spa and tried out the saunas and were only able to stay in for a few minutes… they were too hot for my taste. Then it was off to get pedicures. The description of the pedicure sounded amazing but during the pedicure I was slightly disappointed. I assumed that when they said 75 minutes that meant that someone would be rubbing my legs and feet the entire time. This was not true. In fact, there were several times when the nail tech just walked away for 5 minutes or longer. I guess that is what they were supposed to do but it seemed like a 30 minute pedicure if you counted the time the lady actually worked on my feet. All in all I do have to say this was a good experience and I would try it again(just not the pedicure).

This place is beautiful. They have a great outdoor area if your going to the spa for the day with your honey. its a great place to hang out by the pool/Jacuzzi and drink cocktails or eat lunch. There is a steam and sauna in the locker areas with another Jacuzzi. they usually have fresh fruit chopped up in the ladies locker area but not in the men’s(just whole fruit, which is weird). As far as spa services, this is my industry so im honest: i liked the facials there, they are very kind and go above and beyond. The massage i was not impressed with. the girl talked the entire time and didn’t work what i asked. Please keep in mind they offer a «Deep Swedish» but, i like deep tissue and this didn’t come close to what i was hoping for, unfortunately. so if your looking for a pool day with amenities this is your place!

Yesterday AM after training my guys, I decided to come here. It was my fourth time here.
The bartender Leslie is the BEST. She is awesome. Simply awesome, fun, chatty and sweet. Remember that I always order water and she was still fantastic towards me. I don’t drink. ever. The pool area doesn’t impress me one bit. A lot of pompous attitude from the women who try to walk around acting like they are hot sh*t, but are really poorly dressed and very, very overweight.

The Spa at PGA National is a testament to how awesome customer service can overcome a rather dated facility. Every single employee was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I don’t mind spending the money if I get what I’m paying for — and the Spa at PGA National truly exceeded my expectations. I got a massage and facial and both technicians were ultimate professionals. They really know their stuff — one of the benefits of going to an established spa. We were pleasantly surprised that the spa had its own pool. In fact, it has a mineral pool, salt pool, and hot tub in addition to a regular pool. This area was updated with cabanas and outdoor seating areas. A light lunch is available poolside — served by a very friendly and efficient server. Salads and wraps are featured and they are superb! Okay, so the place needs to be updated which is the only reason they didn’t get the fifth star. But, even if they don’t any time soon, I’m going back for a terrific spa experience!

Maah… it was just okay. I had massage, facial and pedicure and spent a couple hours at mineral pools including a light lunch. The actual treatments were quite good done by seasoned professionals. The spa is older and unfortunately not well kept. All the outdoor and indoor seating was very worn and some dingy. The massage treatment room was okay but the part of the spa were the facials are done smelled old and moldy. The room there was not up to par at all. They need to do some serious soft refurbishments. The whirlpool beside the sauna was gross. That grout and tile needs to be deep cleaned. I think the thing that bothered me the most was the automatic 20% gratuity on all the services. I wanted to tip in cash but that was not possible. I did not get the correct facial and basically too bad for me. I won’t be returning.

The pace is beautiful and tranquil, but that’s about as good as this review is gonna get. Customer service is awful! In fact it was so bad that my very passive girlfriend wouldn’t even call or go up to the front desk to see if we could ADDON a treatment! She was terrified of the lady. Massage was nice, however it was very clear that I had laryngitis and the lady even commented that I should drink some tea with honey, but she never shut up. And that would have been fine had she not kept encouraging me to chat with her. If you must go here, make sure you have enough time to spend at the mineral pools. That was the highlight for us. Very nice, but they wouldn’t let our spouses in that area with out them buying a service too. Seems odd that they couldn’t hang with us at the same pool despite the 800 dollars we spent there. Not sure if I’ll be back

They’ve things around recently poolside at the spa, but overall I think it makes you feel more pampered. I always love coming to this spa for my massages, they are the best. The locker room workers are awesome and remember us every time we go(about 2 – 3 times a year), and so I have to give them an excellent for customer service…

A wonderful experience. A lovely place to unwind, relax, enjoy good service and be pampered. Outside pools are an added plus but weather dependent. Food by pools is very good, but a full day spa package should include lunch — IMHO. I will go back.

Pretty solid spa experience. The mens locker room was a bit crowded, but I did enjoy the multiple mineral pools and massage was pretty decent for a Swedish.

This is just a review of the customer service where they do makeup and hair for wedddings. My lady was rude as hell to me. First of all, I could’ve done a better job with my hair. And I can barely put my hair in a ponytail so that says a lot. When I pointed to my friend’s gorgeous ringlets she snarled at me and said«Well you don’t have hair like her so I can’t do that for you.» Bitch. And my makeup made me look like a two dollar hooker. Grandmothers looked at me like I was doing something wrong just because I showed up. Not cool.
