Bikram Yoga Palm Desert El Paseo

I love this studio! The instructors are excellent, the facility is clean, and has great energy! The staff is always helpful, professional, and welcoming!!! The chilled lavender towels at the end of class are amazing! Ann Marie makes everyone feel me feel right at home!

This place stinks, literally. The carpet is crazy dirty. It’s a little embarrassing to go inside and hang out what with its stained ceilings from leaks, space heater heating system and elementary school art class décor. Serious upgrades long overdue at this place.

I have been going to Bikram Yoga for 28 years. I have gone to at least 10 different studios and trained with at least 20 different teachers.
Bikram yoga uses set times for each pose. Today the teacher radically cut the time for each pose. This for anyone who regularly does Bikram yoga ruins the class. I asked the teacher why they were doing this. I was made the problem and told to follow the class. Huh?
Then at the break (the standing poses were finished 10 minutes early in only 50 minutes) I asked the woman at the check in desk why the teacher was holding a 30 second pose for 10 seconds over and over. I again was made the problem.
Then upon finishing the class I was asked to pay.
I stated that I had previously purchased a $ 50 thirty day pass which due to a family emergency I did not use at all.
Effectively I had a $ 50 thirty day credit.
I was told this had expired and could not be used. WTF?
I then said I would take this up with the owner and tried to leave. I was told she was out of town and I had to pay an absurd $ 18 drop in fee.
When I tried to leave the studio, the desk attendant stood in the door until I paid. This is illegal. So to avoid a problem I paid $ 18.
So I have now paid $ 50+$ 18= $ 68 for one yoga class.
I will never be returning due to the incompetent instruction and shocking rudeness of the staff. I recommend you go elsewhere if you want competent training and to get what you pay for.
