Such amazing service from Steve at Claro Pools. He has gone out of his way to help me understand the automated pool heater/light system(Pentair) that was installed by the previous owner of the house I help manage. Everyone that has answered the phone at this company has been great as well and quick to respond when I need a technician to come check on pool issues. Thank you, Claro!

I first got to know Steve and his team about a year ago when I did a web search in the Coachella Valley for a reputable pool company. My need was to have pool automation equipment installed — which he carried out professionally. Now I can monitor and control my pool via the internet, and also via a wireless controller in the house. Its AMAZING. Fast forward to August of this year when a supply pump broke and left a ‘pool’ of water right next to the pool equipment. Claro was here the NEXTMORNING; fixed the broken pipe but also told me that my 10 year old pool motor was shot. We replaced it with one of the new variable speed super-efficient motors. Not only did I receive a $ 200 rebate from DWP, but the energy savings each month will pay for the pump within a year. AMAZING. Totally convinced — I have also opted for Claro’s twice weekly pool service. EXCELLENT — they even email me when the maintenance person enters and exits the property!

Claro and their owner are a little more expensive but he is an organic chemist and is certified to do the work that many do with pool care in palm springs without proper training and or certification. He trains his staff properly and provides support as well as pays a livable wage which we like very much. Every time one of his personnel enters our property they have technology that sends me an e mail which is good too. So far the best of pool vendors we have had. PT Kenin

Having a Vacation Rental home in the area, we had decided to switch over to Steve and his crew after years of inadequate services from another pool man. Since then, we have had nothing but quality service. Maintaining our pool has been nothing short of a nightmare over the years, so the communication and service that Claro has shown has been a big weight off of our shoulders. Any concern that our renters have had has been promptly solved.

I was introduced to Steve and his team and Claro about a year ago after going through several pool companies. I have a salt system that continually failed due to high calcium build up. I also had to have the glass tiles cleaned several times as they too had excessive calcium build up. Steve assured me that rather than absorb costly fees to bead clean the pool, he could get the same results by properly servicing the pool and managing the ph and salt levels. It took approximately 3 months but it worked. My pool has never looked better, the water clearer or my equipment run so well. Steve and his team(Aaron, Scott and Denise) are always responsive to my needs day, night or weekend. I read the other reviews and must say this is not the service or treatment I have received. Steve is always looking for ways to improve his business and customer satisfaction. I have since referred him to several of my friends and neighbors throughout the valley. I highly recommend Claro.

I have a story to tell you, My father passed away and they were under contract to continue service on the pool, Once this CEO Steve Little, got word of that, he took license to screw me over on the contract. Says he charges $ 399.000 to cancel a contract. He overcharged my father, by over $ 5000 for one thing after the other, he had the pool inspected and moved in before he could say hello they had him replacing everything pump, twice, filter, you name it. They caused me a gas leak, I still don’t think it is fixed. I sold the home and have warned the new owners about this company and the creep CEO. Never Hire this company. I give you fair warning. The only employee worth his salt water, is Jeremy, he does the cleaning, chemicals otherwise, forget these rip off company. NEVERUSETHISGUY. YOURHEIRSWILLINHERIT A NIGHTMARE.

Thx Steve and Team! My pool looks better than it ever has since 2004 when we moved in. The Tue and Fri weekly visits have made a big difference. Thanks for locating and fixing the water leak problem too. If anyone is looking for a pool cleaning business definitely call Claro.

These guys turned my pool a nice shade of green, broke my pool light, had the pool chemistry completely out of whack, and probably broke my filter. I terminated them and they are threatening legal action. So if you like the idea of being taken to court by your pool company for a $ 100/mo pool bill(payed in advance by the way)… by all means do business with this clown.

Totally agree with reviewer Shan S. Claro pools, formerly«hire standards» are absolutely atrocious! They probably changed names to try to hide from all the bad reviews of Hire Standards(read the ones that are ‘not currently recommended’; wonder how they got Unilocal to bury theses reviews??) Our pool recently turned green(again) obviously because no one had shown up to service it(it’s a vacation home). We finally had enough of them not showing up and the shoddy service even when they did, and terminated their services. The owner Steven Little, actually lectured me on «summarily firing» them and argued that that my pool turning green, was not sufficient cause to fire them and demanded an early«contract termination fee»!!! Rather than fight further with him as he seems almost deranged, we just let him keep the pre paid month’s service fee. When our new pool service tested the water, sure enough they confirmed the chemical and salt levels were all off; so much so that it will take several services to get things back to usable condition. Do yourself a favor and use pretty much any company, other than Claro/Hire standards if you actually want your pool to be serviced.

This company used to go by the name«Hire Standards.» We had a very bad experience with them. Very poor pool cleaning. Our pool almost always looked foggy and green with a rust color build up on the white pool base, and we rarely even go in! We let Scott know and while he sent someone out to clean it when we called, nothing changed with our regular pool guy. Sometimes they would just pull up out front of our house to clock in, but not even come around to our back yard. We caught them on 2 occasions doing that. How many times did it happen when we weren’t home? Additionally, they told us we needed a new filtration unit(not just filters, the whole deal). So we bought it. Very expensive, then 3 months later they left a message for us again saying we need to replace the filtration system. My husband and I called back and asked what exactly we paid them to do 3 months before hand, because we were told they replaced it. Then they back pedaled and said it must have already been done… What on Earth? So then, feeling really unsure as to whether we actually needed the new unit, or if we were just being«Jiffy Lubed» we decided to look elsewhere for a pool service provider we could trust and not have to constantly micromanage to even get subpar pool cleaning. They apparently changed their name to «Claro Pools.» I can’t imagine why… Whatever you do, don’t sign a contract with these people or you’ll be locked into paying for pool service you aren’t actually receiving FOR A YEAR. **Update: got several messages from Steve Little asking me to change my review. When I finally replied«no» and why not he kept messaging me over and over like a crazy person, refusing to take responsibility for his employees and trying to tear my current pool guy’s character to pieces. Steer clear!
