I’m amazed with their salsa… It’s terrific. I enjoy eating at small mom and pops restaurants such as these. There is excellent customer service and the menu is very different compared to your usual Mexican restaurant. The Burrito Durango is a must try. It definitely has some spice to it. It’s also in a great little shopping center with Bristol farms:).

First time here. Was hungry for a egg and cheese burrito and they made it for me service was friendly, place is clean and has a pleasant atmosphere. My husband had a fajita omelet and thought is was delicious. We like the chips they served before lunch. They were fresh and warm. Try the fried ice cream with strawberry sauce, yummy

My friend and I were in the area and looking for lunch. She wanted to have Mexican and we ended up at Los Pepes. I attempted to not let the poor reviews sway me. The parking was a littler cramped around lunch time, given that Los Pepes is wedged in the center of a shopping mall with Bristol Farms and a gas station. It never hurts to walk a little further… especially after Mexican food. The décor is Spanish style with adobe and some paintings on the walls to give the appearance that you’ve escaped into a Mexican retreat and are sitting outside drinking horchata on a patio somewhere… or something I guess. I enjoyed that. We were seated promptly and were given waters when we asked. When I got my water there was a hair in it. Not very appetizing I asked and was brought another. I think the waitress was embarrassed by this, and service was scant the rest of the meal. The complimentary chips were thin but good. The salsa is more of a sweet flavor but I find that it goes with the salty chips just fine. I ordered the Albondigas soup, my typical order at Mexican restaurants. It came hot and was a good sized bowl of soup. The albondigas themselves were smaller than golfballs in my large bowl of soup and there were four of them total. They had a good flavor that wasn’t spicy, but more of a savory herb blend. They did not taste traditional to what I’ve grown accustomed too, but I enjoyed them. I wish there were more in my soup though. The vegetables were also tiny. Overall, it was mostly broth. I didn’t try my friend’s tortilla soup but they said it was okay. Overall the experience was not the best, so I do not plan to return. Cute little place though and maybe other dishes are good but I don’t think I’ll be trying them any time soon.

Very good food but a little on the expensive side for the portions. Carne asada was very tasty with the onion glaze. Fresh frijoles de la olla. Shrimp cocktail on the small side. Very good food.

There is a lot to like about Los Pepes. When you arrive the welcome is immediate and sincere. The ambiance is authentic and the food is delicious. We are fans of Mexican food and there are many in the area that are good, but the wait staff at Los Pepes was outstanding, particularly our waiter Victor. From the moment we arrive he was attentive and did everything you would expect from a great server. Thank you Los Pepes and that you Victor!

Let me start by saying the food isn’t great but it’s also not bad, the resturant wasn’t busy and service was very very slow. The major problem, That I can’t stand, was the flys! They were everywhere, and we had to constantly swat them all meal long and we weren’t the only ones. The couple behind us were also having the same problem. If flys are that heavy inside the resturant I can only imagine what is going on in the kitchen.

Should have known better when the place was empty on a Saturday night not to eat there. Tasteless food horrible service. Margaritas are really $ 7.50 each. Not $ 3.25 like the online webb site said… Big ripoff. It for old people that can’t eat spicy Mexican food.(Cafeteria food)

Never have had a bad meal. The Street Tacos are So Good, ask for some salsa arbol to go with it! Yummy. Staff is so Friendly, they treat you like family. After being here about 99 times just since getting my iPhone 5, isn’t it nice to read how many times you’ve been somewhere, here on Unilocal. As I was saying Los Pepes food is Outstanding ! Hubby & I have tried just about everything on the menu.((Him more than me, I’m not as adventurous) I’m Irish, we have a tendency to stay away from hot & spicy things. But I’m learning there are A Lot Of Good food, across the Boarder. Come on In Try The Food, Meet The Family, at least 1 or 2 Family Members are here each day.

This was a little unexpected need to grab lunch before catching a plane. It’s a very casual friendly place. The service was wonderful. I Loved the food. The Chips and Salsa had us asking for round two. I had the BBQ Chicken placed on top of a salad. It was Delicious !!! They make the sauce in house. This is a little hole in the wall I have thought of often and will go back. Kelly W.

It’s a poor cry to Mexican food! They have good customer service but the food quality was a very low. I was very discussed when my plate came out as a Latina I have pride for our culture food yet this was very sad for me.

We were pleasantly surprised to see the décor in this place, which we had never been to before. Nice wooden chairs, etc. Cloth napkins! Hooray! I judge a Mexican place on how they do their Chile Colorado; my wife on the Chiles Rellenos. Well, all the Chile Colorado I’ve lapped a lip around before had chunks of beef, like stew meat. Theirs was flap meat, the same as they must use for Carne Asada. The taste was kind of bland and a bit of salt helped a bit. My wife said the Chile Relleno was not very tasty as well, and was small. She still prefers Casuelas Café in Palm Desert for Chiles Rellenos. To sum up, it’s OK, but nothing special. I can think of several restaurants that do Mexican better.

First and last time at Los Pepes. Horrible service as it took one hour to receive our meals. Then two out of six of us had to send theirs back because they were cold. Food was bad, service was horrible. We spoke to the manager and we were told that the cook quit. What did that have to do with the waitress? My advice, find another restaurant.

It’s California, so the measuring stick for Mexican fare should be more stringent. In that case, Los Pepes suffers. I’ve eaten better Mexican food elsewhere in the Golden State. The staff was very nice. They accomodated shrimp tacos for me, which wasn’t on the menu at all. For that I was thankful, because it was decent. The other dish was not so good, essentially a pretty dry chicken burrito.
