Sad to find out that Palm Springs store had closed just a couple of weeks ago. So, to continue our tradition of always visiting The Alley when in Palm Springs, we had to find out if there are any others around. There are two, one in Palm Desert and one in Indio. Alright then, we’ll go. This store is just so full of great kitchen and bath and furnishing and odd and ends… amazing things you’ll find here. Stuff made and coming from world wide locations. We bought two red cushions, some memorabilias, some kitchen things, and gosh so much more. Why 4 stars? Not the same vibes as the Now closed Palm Springs store, BUT, Glad to have come and hoping this store will survive.

Kinda cool place to find gizmos and gadgets that no one else has. However the store always smells musty and moldy. After about 15 — 20 mins I have to get fresh air. Not the best customer service either.

WARNING: I’ve shopped here several times over the years. Always enjoy the selection of kitchen gadgets. 5 months ago I bought a cute sofa and chair combo which we paid for at one visit and picked up later. The other day, I was aware that one of the sofa legs had collapsed and come unscrewed from the sofa base. Upon inspection, I could feel that the housing for the sofa leg to screw into is cracked and will not hold the leg securely anymore. There are only 3 of us using this sofa(in the normal way). When I called the alley to let them know that I was never given any info upon purchase as to the manufacturer or warranty and ask for help, the customer service person who answered the Palm Desert store phone stated many times, emphatically that no furniture leaves the store without paperwork showing their 30 day warranty. I didn’t call to get talked down to, I called for information and help. I guess I’m supposed to infer that you only offer a 30 day warranty when you deal with crappy, subpar manufacturers, but that is still no reason to be rude. Buy the decorative items and kitchen stuff, but don’t buy their furniture!

Whoever said that The Alley is like Pier One, Cost Plus World Market, a swap meet, and Bed Bath Beyond all rolled into one… that’s a pretty spot on description. They seriously sell the most random stuff: If you need a gun-shaped candle lighter, you can get it here. If you need a masquerade mask, you can get it here. If you need a picture of the Eiffel Tower you can get it here. If you need a biography of Oprah Winfrey, you can… well, you get the point… Aside from the randomness, they have a lot of chic-looking furniture at very decent prices. If you’re looking to decorate and you’re on a budget, it’s worth checking out.

One of my favorite stores here! Really cool unique imported furniture and great prices. Lots of other great home goods. My only complaint is that the store closes at 6.

What a neat store to shop in. Great variety of items and the prices are very reasonable. I wish I needed more things when I was there.

The Alley is a fun place to visit because of all the neato trinkets that they have. Unfortunately although i see a lot of cool things, nothing actually entices my wallet to open and I leave empty-handed. I know my mom likes to buy stuff here because if you find something you want, it’s very reasonably prices.

So, I am originally from the southern most parts of this sunshiney state we all know and love to be cali. More specifically I was born and raised in the desert lands… Palm Springs, Palm Desert, La Quinta. And when i finally learned to spread my wings and fly from mommies nest into my own endeavors i would frequent this lovely store to find all the right decorations. Even when i moved away to San Diego, and San Francisco… I would always come back to the alley, load up the ride, and head on down the dusty trail… with candles, and pots, and weird paintings of fat men cooking pasta and drinking wine… you know why… cause the shit is CHEAP! Thats why. They have everything from kitchen accessories(pots, pans, ceramics creamer cows, spatulas, egg poaching thinga-majigs…pretty much every«as seen on TV» gadget you could imagine)…beautiful candles small, large, micro… all at super reasonable prices… they have more silk and fake plants then one knew could possibly exist under one roof, they have beautiful carpets(large small, etc…), tons and tons of paintings and frames for pictures… all at a price that will make you want to buy that funky rooster that sits by the front door for no good reason, just cause its so freakin cheap. I will always and forever be a fan of the alley. and when i visit the fam over the holidays you know im leavin room in the ride for an Alley stop! word.
