Tiramisu Trattoria

Food tastes fresh & delicious! Classic Italian food. I went there on the recommendation of my grandfather. He said that this is the only one place has lasagna as good as grandma’s. Well, he was absolutely right! Delizioso!
The lasagna isn’t made with ricotta like American versions. All I can say is that it’s just beautiful & delicate flavors! I just had one luxurious bite, I’ll order the full dish for myself next time ;-) Bellissimo!
Mixed grill plate was delicious with grilled sea bass, salmon, prawns, & steamed spinach. Comes with a juicy lemon half to squeeze all over the seafood & spinach. Yum. Mamma mia!
The waiter speaks Italian to the other staff that assists him. It was fun trying to understand what he was saying. He made everything sound so delicious!
So, honestly, I don’t know the name of what I ordered. It was one of the specials for the night. Hahaha. I just asked which special had the shrimp, tomatoes, & pasta… That one! Haha… Lots of fresh ingredients in my dish… Very yummy… Grazie!
The Tiramisu Dessert was tasty too! It better be with it in their name… hehehe :-)
The outside patio was a comfortable temperature because the the pretty trees enclosing us in & the overhead heaters weren’t too hot. Semplicemente Perfetto!
Next time I’ll also get a nice glass of wine! ;) Provare con un buon bicchiere di vino!

Christmas Eve dinner was outstanding and on point! This restaurant has been here forever, but for some reason this was my first visit. It’s small, maybe 15 tables and a little patio. The service went above and beyond all expectations and by that I mean they don’t have a kids menu and my six year old is kind of a picky eater so they went down the street to their other restaurant ll Corso and picked up a cheese pizza for my boy and brought it to him. That act of awesomeness is worthy of five stars all by itself. The food was amazing! The shrimp, asparagus risotto would have made Anthony Bourdain proud. The lasagne was divine as were the meatballs, sausage and penne. Delicious desserts, formidable wine list and wonderful cappuccino. The owners could not have been more accommodating to our party of 8. They even let me keep one of their spoons. Fascinating clientele and just an overall spectacular evening. Highly recommend. Thank you.

Went here last year during our annual trip to Palm Desert and loved it so of course we went back this year. It is a small restaurant but is decorated very nicely. Our waiter was very attentive. I ordered the shrimp asparagus risotto and is was delicious. My husband had a pounded calamari steak appetizer which was amazing. The other entrees at my table were scallops, veal and a rigatoni dish. Everyone ate every morsel of food. For dessert I had a mango sherbet served in a scooped out frozen mango. It was fantastic. My only complaint is the temperature of the restaurant. It could have been a lot cooler. They had ceiling fans going but I think they need to pump up the AC. I’m sure I will be going back next year.

This hidden gem is in a run-​down shopping center but the food and service are as good as you will find in the Coachella Valley.

Made a reservation and went on a Friday night. The restaurant is in a shopping center on a corner. Difficult to find the entrance. The entrance doors are hidden. We walked in the back door and found our way to the front. Tables no booths. I ordered Veal Milanase and my friend the Sand Dab Special. Food quantity was large. I thought all the food was prepared and cooked excellent. Great service. An older crowd of patrons but a few young ones 40’s. Great service.

This is short and sweet: Great service, phenomenal food! Best gnocchi I’ve ever had! Their seafood platter is also very impressive!

Whenever I’m in Palm Springs this is a must stop. The food is consistently delicious, and they are always willing to go out of their way to make you happy. What you want isn’t on the menu? Just ask for it, they will make it happen. The only thing I wish was a little better is the bread basket… but hey at least I don’t catch myself filling up on bread before the meal. I had the pappaderlle (homemade noodles woop) with tomato sauce and pork cheeks, so so good but still felt like a light meal. Beware of the chili flakes they are super fresh, and therefore super spicy. Good thing I like it hot! :-) tried everyone else’s meals and they were all winners. Especially the Alfredo sauce, yum!

Absolutely the best for real Italian food anywhere near Palm Springs area. Chef and all waiters are Italian. Wonderful, very careful service, the best saltimbocca I have had since Rome, and probably the best cannolis I hve ever eaten. Another nice feature is that they offer wines by the glass of very high quality Italian wines — usually by the glass means just passable wine. Nice setting, great food, quick and quiet service. Superb!

Arrogant isn’t even a strong enough word. I don’t care if the pasta is handmade and the menu written by God herself. You don’t brush people off who were referred to you about Il Corso (their next restaurant venture, on El Paseo) leaving you standing on the sidewalk during a business conversation.
You should be asking yourself what your 1 – 5 rating on Customer Service is before testing a professional in doorway.

We had dinner there last night and it was excellent. It had a cozy ambience too which felt nice especially this time of year. We had an appetizer special of bread with ricotta cheese, sausage & tomato sauce… It was delicious and so much better tasting than my description. We also had an entrée special of sea bass and it was cooked perfectly with nice side dishes, it was a very thin filet which was so nice compared to a big thick piece… Really well done. We also had linguine vongole… it was also great. We ordered a nice bottle of champagne and only drank half of it so we had the pleasure of passing it on to a lovely couple who sat down next to us and they had just arrived from Minnesota … So we ended our evening at Tiramisu passing on a bit of holiday cheer to someone else! Great dinner and evening! We will be back again!

This is the best Italian food except Rome! Try the gnocchi.
They are light as a feather. My grandma from Italy would agree. Service is terrific. If we lived closer this would be a regular spot. Grazie, motto bene!

Pizza is the Bomb and the place is really nice inside good service as well.

it is reasonable priced authentic Italian restaurant. Almost everyone works in this restaurants are Italians
As soon as you sit they bring for you bread, eggplant caponatina, oil&winger (note: bread was kinda not fresh)
We had smoked salmon salad, tuna carpaccio, beef kabobs with pasta, some grilled fish dish and tiramisu for desert. Everything was delicious and nicely presented.
They have $ 5 Peroni (italian beer) which is my favorite house wine also $ 5
It is a small restaurant and gets full very fast. Make sure to have reservation if you going on the weekends or the high season.

Maybe the best Italian in the Coachella Valley. However, being an Angelino, I’m forced to compare this Italian to LA’s finest such as Drago Centro, Piccolo Venice, Marino, and as such, it ranks to me as 3+ Unilocal stars, but not quite 4.
Trattoria Tiramisu is in a glorified strip mall, and they have managed to decorate and place various furnishings to create inviting, warm, comfortable camere as well as a nicely planted small patio that uses greenery to provide a shield and screen to hide the parking lot beyond. A very charming space indeed.
The chef/​owner, Mario, is from the south of Italy, but his menu is pan Italian in order to please most palates which is fine with me. However, since I felt he may be the most comfortable in creating dishes from his region, I asked my helpful and friendly waiter, Mimmo, who also hales from Sicilia, that I wanted an all Sicilian meal.
Under good advisement, I ordered Insalata Siciliana which is romaine, fennel root, radished, cured olives in a redwine vinaigrette.
Then, Vitello (veal) Conca d’Oro, which was medaillons of veal topped with eggplant and melted Mozzarella, in a light tomato sauce.
There was a special dessert made up of summer berries and sweet pineapple pieces with crème chantilly and a drizzling of crème anglaise.
With Mimmo’s knowledge of wines, I ordered a Sicilian wine, Lamuri made from Nero d’Avola grape varietal that was fruity with dark fruits such as a touch of blue berries, black berries, plum. Lamuri had a light berry like nose and was medium bodied with a nice light sweet finish.
Since I had ordered an entire bottle for myself, in true European fashion, I was allowed to take the bottle so I could enjoy it later instead of downing it all on site. A warm desert night with personable service, this restaurant is very popular even on a late Sunday evening. I would imagine that on Saturday and Friday nights, reservations would be de rigueur. Tiramisu is not an inexpensive restaurant, but worth going to if you are visiting or living in Coachella.

Not your average Italian. Too me, this is the best meal I’ve had here. Service was great, and the chef was very accommodating to changes. The sauce was perfect, pasta cooked correctly for me, and the whole experience will be memorable. Sadly I can’t come back this trip, but it will be my first dinner when I come back

Might as well start at the begining. Table was set Bread, Balsamic, olive oil set, missing was a plate to mix oil and balasmic. Ordered Calamari — very chewie «like leather» flavor was so so. Ordered pasta with porcini mushrooms. Had the feeling they used Porcini mushroom oil, not real procini’s. If they were a poor quality lacking in the robust flavor expected.
Finished w/​an espresso approx ½ ounce.
Over all impression you can do better. Place was busy, typical of desert restaurants claiming to be the best and sorely lacking. Expensive

A real gem in the desert
Went here on our last night of vacation and we all thought it was our best meal of the week from start to finish. My DH & I had the Caprese salad and special veal & porcini mushroom ravioli. It was one of the best salads ever with a wonderful blend of fresh flavors and excellent golden tomatoes. The ravioli were absolutely delicious and the homemade quality of the pasta was appreciated. Daughter had an equally excellent pasta dish with peas, prosciutto in a creamy tomato sauce. We enjoyed the homemade cannoli for dessert. The service was excellent and not oppressive, and the owner was friendly and courteous. We will certainly be back to this little gem in the desert when we return

This region has an unusually high concentration (given that it’s outside the Northeastern US) of Italian-​American restaurants, which some US diners call «Italian.» Italian-​American fare is like spaghetti with meatballs, large round pizzas cut in wedges (maybe including pepperoni); large commercial manicotti tubes stuffed with cheese; fettucine «Alfredo» with a cream sauce. These items are either unknown in Italy, or considerably evolved from Italian origins. (If you haven’t seen it, the food movie «The Big Night» plays on this difference.)
Tiramisu serves Italian, not Italian-​American, food. In one visit so far I thought it was well executed in an elegant upscale setting. Many of the restaurant’s personnel were evidently from Europe. The kitchen very nicely accomodated a request to improvise a «tasting menu,» several small courses typical of the restaurant. Not all restaurants will do that, but creative small independent ones whose kitchens take pride in their craftsmanship have been the most often willing, in my experience.

If you’re looking for great Italian food, this is the place to go!
Went with friends on Saturday evening and had a fabulous dinner. We brought our own wine and it was decanted and served properly. Appetizers were delicious; my Cold Octopus Salad was served similar to a Beef Carpaccio, very thinly sliced and drizzled with the perfect amount of lemon and quality olive oil. For dinner, I selected the Branzino, a seabass prepared in Italian style ~ truly delicious!!! My friend ordered the Swordfish special and loved it. My husband enjoyed his Proscuitto e Melone appetizer and the Veal Entrée was good.
The restaurant was packed with elegant customers, and it looked like everyone was having a good time. I agree with Luci B. ~ the front door area is congested and it’s awkward to walk in, as all the other diners are trying to come out. They don’t have a bar or a waiting area. Make sure to call ahead for reservations because they fill up early. Already looking forward to our next visit.

When it comes to Italian food, I’m very picky. Tiramisu definitely exceeded my expectations.
The restaurant was completely packed when we got there, but luckily we got a table right away. Our waiter was VERY Italian (as in the accent) and he was fantastic. We did have one misunderstanding where we thought he said «cupcake salad». Naturally the salad did not have cupcakes in it.
I ate the Pappardelle alla Bolognese and it definitely hit the spot. There was a pasta special with Gorgonzola cheese that I got to sample which was amazing. I wish I had ordered it.
When I came to dessert I had to order the tiramisu. How could you not? It was the best I’ve ever had.
It may seem a little pricy but at Tiramisu Trattoria you get every penny’s worth.
