SADPIZZA that is how I describe it. I looked at it, and it looked sad. It tasted even worse. The frozen pizzas I buy are miles better, and it’s not like I buy high end frozen pizzas. It tasted like it came out of a microwave, it was truly awful. The Mojos are pretty good, and the arcade leaves something to be desired, but you know, it kept the 4 year olds occupied. At least they have a decent beer selection. If you just want to eat beer and salad while the kids play video games, cool. If you want halfway decent pizza steer clear. SADPIZZA.

It’s sad to see how this place has gone down hill I spent many years in Orange County and I use to go to shakyes, always consistent, this location in Palm Springs I eaten here 3 times and let me tell you, this place needs a new direction, pizza it’s just ok, the place in general needs some cleaning I don’t mind spending my money, the place it’s a little bit pricey for what you get… Any way this is my last time coming here, gave them 3 chances they failed.

Well another 80’s staple that can’t be found in Texas. Pizza was average at best(pizza buffet) and just warm. I’d suggest the fried chicken, now they did chicken great! Chicken very hot and moist. Shakey’s Chicken, nice ring!

Shakey’s Pizza Parlor is a legendary establishment. This particular restaurant is in it’s original building from decades ago and still lives up to everything Shakey’s stands for. Great Pizza, Better Mojos and Chicken, great service their way. For those who have given this place low ratings, Wow! what are your expectations? We ordered extra food for the four of us who recently visited(three adults one child). The Large family meal of a Large Pizza, Chicken and Mojos(Plus extra full order of mojos) We added a Small Shakeys Special to see if it was still the same(it was) and finally an order of Chicken wings that were really good. While it wasn’t rush hour or very busy it had enough customers to surprise us on how quickly our order was taken to our table. Everything we ordered was brought to our table and ALL at the same time. There was no waiting for anything and that also surprised us with the amount of different for we ordered. Served piping hot and with great customer service met all expectations if not more. The restaurant was very clean, NO attitudes from any of the employees as some have mentioned. The arcade room was a bit small with about nine games of which all but one distributed tickets for prizes. What gave the arcade room some extra points was the Barrel of Monkeys game. Two of the adults in our group were hooked on it and one of them hit the jackpot of 350 tickets. The only negative about the entire visit was the prizes you can buy with tickets you win through the arcade games, there isn’t candy available just little trinkets. Candy is usually offered at other similar arcade rooms but not at this one and we were just craving sweets by the end. Overall, if you have read this far into this review, I give this place a 9.9 out of 10 possible. For those who loved Shakey’s this is the one that will bring you back to those«Ye Old Good Times» for family fun and dining. I also made the Manager on duty aware of my appreciation of the food, staff and overall experience. She seemed surprised I am sure only because when people want to speak to Management its usually on the negative.

Don’t ever judge a book by its cover. The outside of the place looks shabby and potholes in the parking lot. Inside is super clean and really helpful/friendly staff. The lunch buffet is $ 11.22 including tax and a drink. Fresh food and self serve beverages.

Been coming here for the lunch buffet. Dollar for dollar, its pretty good deal. If you get there right when they open, some of the salad items might still be frozen or way too cold. The pizza is ok. They usually make me whatever kind I want, so thats a nice touch. Would I ever order a pizza at full price, no way! Dominos and Pizza Hut are way better and much cheaper in my opinion. So for about $ 10 with a drink, you can enjoy the buffet with salad, pizza, chicken, mojos, pasta and mashed potatoes. Fill up and go on with your day.

The pizza is surprisingly good for this type of place. The fried chicken was excellent — it fell right off the bone and had loads of flavor. The demerits are the noise level and the cleanliness.

It’s Shakey’s pizza, been around for decades, just not as many now. Place is dated, but clean. They have a lunch buffet of pizza, small salad bar, chicken, pasta, mashed potato’s etc. I go for their chicken, really good

Shakey’s… where it’s always 1978 — and there’s nothing wrong with that. There’s definitely a place for throwback pizza, and this place is it. Con #1: Hate the communal tables, tho, and most everyone else does as well because the booths around the perimeter of the dining room are always packed well before anyone wants to sit at one of the picnic tables in the center of the room. Con #2: Sadly, the pizza — especially on the buffet. Thin crust only. *Very* thin crust. Paper-thin. I guess they do that to save money. Pro: Everything else on the buffet is superb and makes up for the lackluster pizza. The potatoes(locally called mojos, where I come from they’re called jojos) are stupendous and the other items are plentiful and tasty. I go when I need a mojo fix, because the pizza isn’t enough to draw me in.

Such amazing service. So kind. My group and I went there today and they treat us so well. They let us in a few minutes early so we don’t wait in the heat. So kind and friendly. We come here every two weeks!

I really enjoy Shakeys pizza. A bit pricey for pizza but we treat ourselves every few months. Looking forward to trying the new one in Indio. Wish we had one in Palm desert. The PS store always feels a bit dirty inside, it’s an older restaurant that’s in need of some TLC. The food is always good and staff most of the time is friendly as well. Only one time a young gal had a bad attitude. Don’t think she’s there any more.

Took our family to Shakeys for dinner, great experience, the manager and his employees really made us feel like we were at home! James warmly greeted us all smiles, Horasio helped us pick the right pizza crust, toppings and sizes(wonderful positive personality) and Juan was out going and nice. I’m sharing a review on a very great crew and positive team and because of them I would recommend this place to anyone. Thanks Shakeys for hiring employees like this!!!

Let’s just say… I will not be coming back here ever again. We were excited to finally eat some fattening pizza and chicken. When we arrived we were only the 2nd guests in the whole restaurant. We ordered and they gave us a number to put on our table. I guess to tell the waiter where to deliver the food. We waited and waited then they finally brought out our pizza. Small for the price but good. Another small group came in while we ate our pizza. Then we waited and waited for the chicken and mojo’s… Nothing… Then the waiter comes out and my husband says… I bet that’s our food going to that table that just sat down. As long as we waited for our pizza it was clear that it was our food. My husband gets up and goes up to the ordering area and told the employees that«was our food!» The waiter came over a little after and brought us some mojo’s and said they were going to give us some extra pieces of chicken to make up for the mistake. So we waited and waited and waited… By this time more people had come in and some for take out! They all got their food and we kept contemplating leaving… But our chicken had arrived at our table. They added an extra breast. My husband cut open the chicken breast on my daughters plate and it was Raw! Pink! He cut open more pieces all undercooked! I have never been to a restaurant in 30+ years that has ever serve raw chicken! My husband went up and gave back the chicken at this point we needed to leave and get our money back but I talked my husband into staying! I was at the point of leaving but I wanted to stay and have the chicken. The main guy, I would think it was the manger came over with over fried burnt chicken. He literally stuck the cut open chicken back in fryer!!! And a few pieces were missing when he returned! We gave up and could not believe someone would fry up opened chicken and serve it!!! I would of hoped he would of offered us at this point our money back, pitcher of beer or even a gift certificate. It’s sad that the place wasn’t busy and you would think if there are only 2 groups in the entire restaurant that the idiot waiter would know where to deliver the food! Especially with the tickets they give to you to put on the table. Why give out numbers of you can’t read! Imagine when this place is busy!

This place had been in this location as long as I can remember. On our most recent visit, I got a combo pizza and the Fried Chicken with Mojo Potatoes. I realized quickly why we don’t come here but once or twice a year and I can’t see myself ever returning. The place is unchanged in the past 20 years. The pizza is not much, kinda bland. The Fried Chicken? Ew. The limp Mojo Potatoes? Evil. If you have a Little League team and you need to shovel some Carbs into them on the cheap, this is the place.

My take out order was forgotten about when I arrived to pick it up. While waiting for them to prepare my order I witness the cook lick his fingers multiple times and not wash his hands afterwards. Then he caught a piece of chicken falling off of the counter with his apron and served it to customers. This place is insanely overpriced with mediocre service at best and horrible food safety practices. Never eating there again. Ever.

It’s Shakeys! Here’s what I know… I fed three kids and four construction workers for forty-three bucks. Cant beat it, I tell ya! The pizza was good, not great, but good. The chicken, on the other hand, I thought was above average. I enjoyed it too much I think. I tried the potato rounds(thingamajiggers) and they were good. The kids loved em anyway. Listen, Shakey’s is a chain pizza joint. The food is doable, not great. It’s not school cafeteria like, but it isn’t the palace either. Take it for what it is, a decent place to take the family and get them full for not a ton of dough.
