The pool has improved! Friendly staff, warm water, clean. Good Job!

Nice swim facility — which is pretty much a required thing out in the desert! Olympic length multi-lane pool that’s open to lap swimming in the mornings and the evenings. There’s a second pool that’s used primarily by the local HS teams for water polo and swim. There’s also a shallow kiddie pool. What’s nice for me is that it’s outdoors and open, so I can use my Garmin to track my swim without a problem. Haven’t been there in the morning to see if it’s crowded or not, but the evenings definitely aren’t crowded. Locker facilities are available, so bring a lock. The locker room is open-air as well, which was a little weird at first, but it’s not like people are climbing up the walls to check you out or anything. Keep in mind the skatepark is right next door. If being in the same vicinity as skaters is going to bug you, you should probably find another pool. Five dollars for adults, four dollars if you’re a Palm Springs resident. They have multi-use passes too.

What a pleasant surprise while on vacation. As an avid long distance lap swimmer(4 – 5 days a week for 30 years), I did not want to miss my workouts. The hotel where I was staying recommended this place to me. I swim in @ 12 different pools in the greater LA area and this pool surpassed all of them(except Loyola Marymount University). It was so clean and spacious. I even had a lane to myself unlike in LA you have to share up to 7 people sometime. I especially loved the open air dressing room. I will be dreaming of this pool while I am back to work this week. Would gladly pay $ 5.00 to swim if I had this choice every day. See you soon Palm Springs Swim Center!

The pool just reopened after putting in a new $ 300,000 pool deck. It looks and feels great. Not $ 300,000 great, but still pretty awesome. Come on Palm Springs, get out for some exercise at our beautiful pool! Everyone asks me where its located. Its between Sunrise Park and the high school.

Beautiful facility concidering its age. Lots of shade trees and a cool water fountain inside. The Life Guards are friendly and helpful and have a snack bar set up most of the time. The locker rooms need some love. If Parks and Recs had a better handle on the skate park next door I’d give the Swim Center a 5 star rating. The non-athletic kids hang out out front and trash the place every chance they get. I wish I had all of their parents cell phone numbers. Security is unhelpful and usually befriends these kids so we have no protection. I’m sure it will get better as we’ve seen many fixes already in the past year.

I love the PS Swim Center … the city’s fantastic municipal pool … and one of the best kept secrets in town. At a constant temp of 80 degrees, the water feels toasty warm on the winter days and refreshing on the hot summer days. Public swim times are convenient and you can’t beat the admission price, especially if you’re a resident and buy a punch card. The pool is clean, the pool staff are friendly, and ending your swim with a nice shower in the open-air locker areas is soooo Palm Springs.
