Wow. August 8th, as many who love the ocean and love taking pics, was called Big Wed. as the swells rolled in from the South due to a huge hurricane down south. I, as a long time surfer, made sure I was at Malibu and other points North, taking unreal pics of famous surfers such as Laird Hamilton, shooting the Malibu pier, along with life long friends catching monster waves at county line/Neptunes net. I brought four rolls of 35 mm film to the Walgreens on 47th st. East in Palmdale. These were taken in around Aug. 10th. It’s now Sept. 25th and guess what? One roll was not developed properly, negatives were ruined and, what is worse is that one roll of very special footage was lost. I made several calls and finally the store manager, a Mr. Rogers, said the film was found. They offered me a bribe by giving me four rolls of film, a lousy digital camera and did re imbursed me for the two rolls of film developed. That was nice but I want my roll of film back. Why? Because I had planed on submitting pics of so many, surfing the biggest waves ever. Mr. Rogers finally called saying my film was found. So now, three trips later, I ran up to Walgreens to pick up my roll. NOPE. Wrong film. So now, I had to make a fourth trip to return the film as I sure don’t want anyone going through lost pics, like myself. Finally, I have called now for two days to find Mr. Rogers, who knows about the problem, not at work and no one in the store has a clue as to when he will return. My film is lost, my hopes of being published by Surfer Magazine are crushed and I’ll never have the opportunity again to film such an amazing event. How sad to know that again, Corporations have no thought or care for their customers. I asked to be reimbursed $ 250.00 for my travel expenses and the possibility of publishing my photos. I got a lousy $ 10. camera and four rolls of film. Should I take further action against WalGreens? What would you do? You can email me at . Aloha

My go to store instead of Wal Mart! Prices are a little high, but the convenience of easy check out is great. It’s never packed, on the rare occasion there’s a line, they’ll call another cashier and speed you through. They seem to be understaffed since someone always needs to be called to a certain department, but the store is always clean. I always use their photo center for prints, just order online and pick up within an hour.

First of all their hours are from 8AM to 10PM I went there today January 30, 2014 at 9:40PM and they were already closed and not letting anyone in I went to my car, and called to see why the doors were closed already and a recording said they were closed even though Unilocal was still reporting them as open. I was also there two weeks prior and when I walked in the guy at the cash register was on the phone on a personal phone call and he was having a very belligerent conversation with very sexually explicit words with customers in the store and speaking loudly has he did not care if he was heard. Not a very respectful atmosphere.

I sometimes stop in if I’m not feeling well and I pick up some over the counter medication, cold remedy or cough drops but what I usually stop by for is the Photo Department. Not many of us shoot film anymore and digital is very convenient but sometimes you want a print that you can actually hold in your hand or hang on the wall. If you need prints or enlargements the Walgreens Photo Department is a quick and easy way to accomplish this task. You can use the machine in the store, just pop your memory card or CD in and choose the photos you want prints of. Or you can do it from home like I do. Just go the the Walgreens website and open an account. Then you can upload your photos and send in your order right from the comfort of your own home. You will get an email when your prints are ready! Your uploaded photos will remain on the Walgreens website(password protected) so if you want reprints just log in and order them. You can also have your photos printed on all manner of items such as Mugs, T-Shirts, Clocks, Mouse Pads, etc. You can also have them printed into a photo book to give as a gift or keep as a memento. You can also get your Passport photos taken here. I have used the Photo Service many times and haven’t had any problems. The store is always neat and clean and checkout is quick and easy.
