Last great clock shop I know of. been bringing different numerous clocks here for years. This shop has great integrity, pricing is in line with what others charge. sorry to see this place go. I currently, for the last couple years have brought my clocks all the way from ventura ca. Just cause I know they would fix it and fix it right. This last week I saw they are going out of business its a shame. Small business are slowly dying. Last day is supposed to be December 19th and right now they are offering discounts on their current inventory.

A relative of mine suggested this shop to clean my mom’s time x travel windup clock. It was in great shape and worked very well and as I was new to the area I took my relatives advise and was quoted 30 dollars for the cleaning. When I went to pick up the clock, the woman behind the counter asked me if I used the clock. I knew something was up at that question. I answered yes. Nothing more was said to m about the condition of my clock. When I got back to my car I examined the clock and found it to be nonfunctional. I have since taken my clock to another shop in orange county and have been informed that It will cost 70 dollars to repair the clock. I have not yet been informed as to whether the damage to my clock was normal wear and tear or negligence. when I know I will update this review for now I am giving this clock shop 1 star if I could give them no stars I would.

I first heard about Ye Olde Watch Shoppe from an ad they had posted on Criagslist, and I immediately knew I wanted to visit this place since I am a huge pocket watch collector. I gave them a call and asked them if they had pocket watches and they said they did and to come on by. Unfortunately they are about 40 minutes from me so I had to plan a whole day just to drive up to Palmdale where they are located. One Saturday my Fiancé and I got up early and made the trek out to Palmdale. I was expecting a shop full of watches and pocket watches judging by their business name and I was very excited, but when I got there I couldn’t have been more wrong. My Fiancé and I walked in and all we saw was a very disorganized and messy shop with a bunch of clocks and not very many watches. My Fiancé and I started to walk around the shop and they had a pretty impressive selection of clocks. They had everything from grandfather clocks to cuckoo clocks. One thing that I thought was pretty cool is that on the top of the hour all the clocks go off at the same time and it sounded pretty awesome. One thing that I really didn’t like and it made my Fiancé and I very uncomfortable was when we were walking around there was the sound of a child screaming the most horrifying, shrill, blood curdling scream I have ever heard coming out of this back room. It literally sounded like a child was being beaten, it was terrible and no one else but us seemed to notice or care. Anyway, after walking around, I proceeded to walk over to a lady that was behind the counter and I asked her if they had any pocket watches. She directed me to a section with only about 20 pocket watches and I could not believe how much they were charging for them and how little of a selection they had for being the«Ye Olde Watch Shoppe». Their prices for pocket watches were outrageous. There was one pocket watch there that I had recently bought off of ebay for $ 75 and they wanted $ 300 for the same exact watch. Talk about a rip off. Once I knew I wasn’t going to buy any pocket watches, I asked if they could appraise some of my pocket watches and the lady I asked was kind of rude and said it would be $ 5 per watch to appraise. I told her I did not want to do it if it was going to cost money and then she said she would do it for free. So I gave her four of my pocket watches and she pulled out this book and started to look the watches up. I could not believe that she wanted to charge me to appraise watches that she is just going to look up in a book which is something I could do. Not only that, she completely low balled me on the value of my watches. Once she was done with my watches I left and I was very disappointed, my 40 minute trip to Palmdale was a waste of time. So if you are looking for a place to buy cool clocks then come here, other than that, don’t waste your time.
