Man this is not a legit chinese food place. It’s great that they give you free soup at the start, but unfortunately the food quality isn’t great. We got the sichuan spicy chicken, which was a wet mix of chicken covered in a lot of sauce – the real thing is supposed to be dry! That’s like if you ordered fried chicken at KFC, and then they give you curry chicken. It doesn’t make sense! Overall, not a great chinese place to hang out at.

This place is always reliably delicious. Dishes are served quickly and hot, the staff is extremely friendly, and the prices are about the most reasonable you could expect in downtown Palo Alto. I had the beef with broccoli for lunch, and I’ve had numerous other dishes at other times. The hot and sour soup was wonderfully spicy, and served very hot, perfect for a cool damp day in January. The only thing I consistently avoid is the eggrolls, which are not their strongest offering.

For years now, this has the GO-TO place of my whole family, when it comes to chinese food! Personally my mothers No 1, and you know mom always know whats best! from any other chinese restaurant ive been too, no other compare to their exquisite compound chicken, its taste is like no other… makes you wonder what other restaurants definition of compound chicken is when you try theirs… now should we talk about their sour soup… Awesome!

I ordered delivery on a crazy lazy sunday at home and it was pretty fast-less than the estimated time! Yummy wontons in chili sauce! Seriously I may re-order just for those puppies! The Chow Fun was also okay and the fortune cookie was a bit stale. Overall I can see myself trying something new from here and re-ordering the wontons in chili, I’d recommend it if you’re in the area and want delivery. I can’t really comment on the restaurant for dining in.

Pros: Décor and nothing else… Cons: 0verpriced, below average menu. Panda express orange chicken is waaaaaaaay better than Jings orange chicken. Extra charge for rice with almost $ 50 worth of food???

I went here for a casual lunch on a Monday, and it was pretty busy. I loved the design of the building. It was interesting! However, I ordered black bean noodles but what I got was noodles with ground beef. That’s it. It was pretty underwhelming. Plus, the soup was okay. I’ll probably go here again but if your order is wrong, speak up!

Fantastic vegetarian lunches. You can order fish/meat too. Authentic Chinese décor and family owned. $ 8.99 or $ 9.99 includes outstanding vegetarian hot and sour soup. Downtown Palo Alto off of University Ave.

Quiet find. Soup is ok, but the main course dishes we ordered were really good — Pork with Mango, and Chicken with Garlic Sauce. Help staff is very good too — courteous and on top of things. Bön appetit!

It can be greasy and Americanized — but the Dan Dan noodles and honey walnut prawns are my guilty pleasure. It was packed when we came on a Sunday night…

The food is ok and a bit overpriced, I’d give it two stars. What I like about this place is how quickly food comes out of the kitchen.

The kung pao chicken was spicy and well seasoned with more peanuts than chicken. At least three dollars overpriced. The dinner food is entrée style, so better for groups. They do have a dinner special for parties of two. The service is great. They are swift with the takeout orders. I’d go back, but only for the lunch specials. Also, I love that they use the paper cartons!

The best chinese food in the Bay Area, easily. Hands down. The pricing might be high… but it’s Palo Alto so everything seems high(to me). It doesn’t seem out of line with everything else locally. I order from here at least 2x a month, and it’s always delicious. My personal favorite is probably prawns in garlic sauce, but their Kung Pao chicken and original sweet and sour are the best I’ve ever had. I usually order take out, but their location is really cute, very clean and nice. It’s my favorite Chinese place of anywhere. :)

Decent Chinese food and great, fast service but a bit overpriced for the portions. I’ve eaten the food from here a bunch since Facebook always orders late night from here during our company hackathons. That’s always been solid but I’m probably biased because I always eat that late in the middle of a night of hacking. The frozen cream puffs(I know, so random for a Chinese place) are so good! I just ate in the actual for the first time for dinner. Service was good and food came out piping hot literally 2 minutes after we ordered it, which is fast even for a Chinese place. The Dan Dan noodles were pretty good, a little on the salty side and heavy on the sesame paste/peanut butter(whichever it is they use) and I wish it was a little spicier for Dan Dan noodles. The pan fried noodles were also a bit salty and I generally prefer thin noodles to thick ones.

Solid Chinese food for the price. The dan-dan noodles were good, but a little on the non spicy side, but you can always add your own hot sauce to it. The pan fried noodles used thick noodles which I was not used to, and not as crispy as I had liked. The honey walnut prawns were nice and fried and a great dish. We came at around 8, and the restaurant was only 25% full. Service was great, and we got our food less than 5 minutes after we ordered!

Wonderful! Everything from the chilled wine glasses to the quality of the tea gave me the impression that Jing-Jing really knows how to serve their guests. The noodles, hot and sour soup, and the fish,(I don’t know the specific names of the dishes, because my uncle was doing all the ordering in Taiwanese) were all light on oil and refreshingly delicious. The decorations inside also left an impression, because there was a huge painting of an Imperial Chinese city, and the lights were ornate. There’s also free two hour parking in a lot across the street.

I have come here twice because my uncle knows the owner. Whenever we have family gathering, my uncle always suggests that we come here.

As someone who is half chinese and lived in Asia, it’s not exactly authentic but it’s fresh and very edible — it’s not quite ruined by catering to western tastes as so many restaurants are– and you can get high quality, wholesome food at a reasonable price. In particular, the black bean items are excellent and fresh. The soups are fresh. The fried rice is non-greasy and with excellent quality ingredients. It’s at least on a par with the best fried rice one can get around here. The 5 spice beef is not something you can get everywhere and very much appreciated(I think it’s under noodles in the menu — szechuan style, long cooked beef — YUMMY). What sets the place apart and thus why I’m writing review — beyond the above — is every time we order for delivery, we get thoughtful extras. Today, we received some sauteed green beans(YUM!) and some appetizers. Another time, there was a small soup. Almost always we get pickled veg, an addiction of mine. The owner is so thoughtful that the other night I called for delivery and she asked if my son was home yet. I said, «No, not until 7 or 7:15». She held the order so it ws delivered at 7:18 p.m.(I called at 6:30) so that it was piping hot for him. They are always very fast in delivery so it was obvious she thought this through. We don’t order often at all, but she knows his name, knows our address without asking. The dog ate ALL the food yesterday so I just asked today, «Can we get the same order as yesterday but swap out chicken with fish for the chicken in black bean sauce?» She knew the orde so I didn’t have to repeat anything, they were closed but she answered phone, and we got the food delivery as soon as the chef arrived. I frankly miss my mother horribly even 26 years after her death, and the owner at Jing Jing’s fills part of a hole for me for when you want«Mom» to take care of you.

Pretty hefty portions for a decent price($ 17 – 20 per person). We ordered takeout, and I can’t comment on speed since I got there later, but the dan Dan noodles, Kung pao chicken, steamed broccoli and Sichuan tofu were great. Really solid. The sweet and sour pork was just… awful. It was gray and tasteless on the inside, while the outside was drenched in a violently fake pink sauce. Their potstickers are more like meat buns than anything, since the dough is uniformly too thick all around and the bottom wasn’t crispy at all. Please try harder.
