The team here is so warm & welcoming! I met primarily with Dr. Abby and I deeply appreciate her passion and mastery of the body grounded in chiropractic knowledge. The practice draws a community of people working toward healthier lives, which is the kind of wellness care and support I seek and appreciate. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for chiropractic adjustment, and for pregnant Mamas to restore balance in the spine, pelvis, and whole body while preparing for birth.

We’ve been going to University Chiropractic for years. Dr. Kaiser has helped us through injured knees and feet, headaches, lower back pain, and aching elbows! She is amazing! The staff at University Chiropractic is gracious and welcoming.

I have had a great experience at this office and would definitely recommend it to others. I started going there about 3 months ago for lower back and neck pain and the treatments and advice have made a significant difference.

I feel like I should have shopped around more. My back does feel better after going through a full course of treatment, but it was very expensive and I felt like there was too much pressure on selling the chiropractic treatment not on actual care. I felt more like I was in a chiropractic factory not a doctors office. Once I had signed on to a large course of treatment, (that I couldn’t really afford but was in so much pain I had to do something) I felt like I had to see it through. That being said for me it was 70 dollars a session that dropped to 40 after I had gone through. I feel like I could have gotten better value at somewhere that doesn’t have to pay Palo Alto rent! Do your research and don’t get suckered in!

I had an accident and my neck got really bad. While I was being treated I felt great. I wish I still lived close-​by to continue treatment at University Chiropractic. The massage therapy followed by Patricia’s adjustments made me feel great for weeks.

I received a very good evaluation when I responded to an offer from University Chiropractic a year or so ago. I did not follow through with care here, because I decided the distance was too far from my home for ongoing appointments. Fortunately, I was subsequently able to find very good chiropractic help much closer to me.

I am really conservative when it comes to give up stars, so Dr. Kiser’s shop gets 4. Awesome office. Doc immediately found the pain and developed a plan to get my subluxation in order. Feeling better in two weeks, but that can be deceptive and I plan to see it through. Look forward to getting my adjustment.

I came to University Chiropractic with shoulder and neck pain, a result of a misaligned spine. My current insurance didn’t cover the care, but it has been well-​worth the money for me. Three months after I started being adjusted with Dr. Kaiser, I had impressively marked improvement. I have now been going to regular appointments for over a year, and continue to notice improvement. Everyone in the office is friendly and straight-​forward, and it never feels like you’re in a doctor’s office. I trust them with the health of my spine, and look forward to continued improvement in my spine alignment and range of motion.

This is my follow up review.
I have spent there over $ 3,000, on those 1.5−3.5 minutes treatments and I ended up having my pubic bone totally misaligned, than I quit the place.
It has been over 5 years now and my sacrum connected to my pubic bone is till out but better with self care. This is my story. I regret it was a wasted money.
After going there for almost a year I do not recommend the place, mostly because the health practices do not seem to work. It is de-​humanized and robotic. This explains the franchise aspect of it –this is a chiropractic factory. Most chiropractors make around $ 200 /​hr, Patricia makes over $ 300/​hr and drive a Porsche and runs a fancy office. Well you are the one paying for it with your health, please realize it.
I have received the same cracking on the same places, and asked for toe alignment which she could not or did not want to do, it simply did not fit into the limit of 3minutes treatment plan, Sorry.
Did anyone get your toes aligned before? It is chiropractic adjustment also, maybe you did not know before.
I recommend an old fashioned practitioner, who do not follow the corporatric one size fits all practices.
I agree with some of the other Unilocalers, this way of practicing do not help the body.

I wish I had read the reviews before going here for a free wellness check. I had a very similar negative experience as Wil S’s review. After the x-​ray, Dr. Kiser most certainly used a scare tactic to get me to come back. She said my case was worse than she thought and then proceeded to tell me– I’ll have to take time to review everything and you can return as early as tomorrow so I can explain your conditions. I was quickly ushered out to schedule a follow up appointment. Never in my worst medical experience have I been treated like this or felt so violated. I felt completely scammed. Never will I go back, and I hope this place gets shut down. It’s a completely unethical practice and no one should have to experience what I did.

I’ve been going to Dr. Kiser for chiropractic care off and on for over 15 years. I first met her when my former roommate was a chiropractor in her office back in 1998. Since then I have gone to Dr. Kiser every few years when my upper back, neck and shoulders tense up from too many hours in front of the computer and too many flights for business travel. I usually go to her once a week for 3 – 4 weeks, and the tension dissipates, I feel better, and I stop going until I feel the need for a tune up.
Dr. Kiser and her staff (Rita and the team) have always been very accommodating at getting me in when I have a flare up in my back/​neck that needs attention, and I feel immediately better that night and the next day. Their practice is easy to get into and convenient to my work and home location, and the environment is calm and relaxing.
I always feel like I’m in great care with Dr. Kiser at University Chiropractic and would highly recommend her to anyone seeking chiropractic care.

Before you go here you need to understand that this isn’t a local practice, this is a franchise chiropractor. I hadn’t realized these were a thing, but apparently they are. Not only is this a franchise, it’s a franchise that uses extremely questionable tactics. Their goal is to get you coming in 3x a week for the rest of your life. By whatever means necessary.
I’ll repeat differently; the goal is not your health… it’s your wallet.

Or you should do your own research and search the Internet for the keywords «Maximized Living Scam». You should always do your own research with anything in life. You’d research an Internet purchase of $ 20, you should then absolutely research someone you’re taking «health» advice from.
Known tactics of this franchise are to give a free exam that includes x-​rays, find something interesting in these x-​rays that can be used as a scare tactic, get you to agree to 3x per week, once your insurance runs out get you to agree to a prepaid package in the $ 3,000 range. All the while giving you religious pamphlets that promote total care by chiropractic and buying their products.
My personal view is that I cannot trust them. I had a total of about 4 sessions here, and while Patricia is the nicest person you’d ever meet, her associations with Maximized Living are completely untrustworthy.

I went to University Chiropractic with a Living Social coupon. I figured it would be a good way to see if I wanted to continue with them. I feel there is too much of a «sales pitch» about their services, which are really nothing new, innovative or special. I’ve gone a few times, but am not impressed enough to return. Staff is friendly, but there is nothing that special about their treatment methods. Also I do not care for the lack of privacy when you are getting a treatment or doing the «exercises» they require. And charging me for doing «exercises» is a bit of a rip-​off! I’ve had better.

After moving, I was on the hunt for a new chiropractor so I thought why not try them out with a package deal that included the exam, xray, a massage and an adjustment? I don’t need to go into extensive details since many of the previous reviews have already outlined everything that wasn’t satisfactory about this place.
I was scheduled for my initial exam followed by my massage. I arrived 15 minutes early to make sure we had everything taken care of before my appointment time and even then, there was still a bit of waiting around in between getting the «tour» of the facility, meeting Dr. Kiser, getting my x-​rays with Dr. Mason, and finally getting my massage. After I was done with my x-​rays I came out to the front and was told to wait and I did for a while before the assistant remembered that I was scheduled for a massage. This resulted in a mediocre 35 minute massage (supposed to be 60 min) that I was so glad that I didn’t pay full price for! I don’t know if they’re unorganized or overbooked but had I known all the sitting around was cutting into my massage time I would have said something.
Then, Dr. Kiser offers me their package deal of over $ 3000 which is suppose to be cheaper than individual adjustments and said that I should come in 3x a week (seems to be their sales pitch for everyone).
Anyways, long story short, I came back for my adjustment a few days later. Sat through their sales presentation thinking wtf is this? Am I really in a doctor’s office? The adjustment took all of 3 minutes and I was done. I think they aim for quantity over quality and just getting through as many patients as possible.
I just have to comment that the chiropractor that I am seeing now does a lot more than the quick 5 min adjustments that I experienced here. She does a bit of soft tissue work (nice little back massage to get your muscles relaxed) and has me lie with heat pads for about 15 minutes on my back before finally doing the adjustment. She says working with the muscles as well as the spine helps hold the adjustments longer so I wouldn’t have to come in as often, thus saving me money in the long run. AND her individual appointments cost less than buying an extensive package from Dr. Kiser. Of course, it’s not just about the money to me but I feel better prepping my back for an adjustment rather than just jumping in cold and just surprise it with some cracking.

I met Dr Mason at the Menlo Park Arts and Wine festival. I signed up for their special (which was $ 20 for free X rays, posture check etc.) Then, because I suffer from almost crippling lower back pain, I bought a month’s worth of adjustments, because I am desperate to feel my age again. The adjustments have helped. .
It is not a constant sales pitch. The two girls who work at the front counter are very nice and would entertain my baby while I got an adjustment. I never felt forced to buy anything, I felt comfortable and not guilted into buying anything.
I did not buy another package simply because I realized Kaiser has chiropractic services and when we get back from vacation, in a few weeks, I will look into that to see if I can take advantage of the huge premiums we have to pay for our healtcare. If the price is the same however to go to Kaiser vs Dr Kiser, I will go back to Dr Kiser because she knows what she is doing, the appt’s are quick, and I feel comfortable with her.

I really wanted to like this place. It’s fancy. It’s got neat electronic gizmos and things. But at the end of it all, I just felt like this place was a chiropractic factory. I originally came here through a deal from LivingSocial. There was an offer for exam/​adjustment/​massage. I started with the massage. The massage was really good, but it was well short of an hour. More like 40 minutes. That was really disappointing. It’s ok. I’ll soldier on since I am here on a deal, after all.
The exam went pretty well. I liked getting my body nuked with x-​rays. That’s always a good time. After the radiation, the doctor said that we’d have a follow up where we’d discuss the findings.
I came back a few days later to review my x-​rays. I sat through a 30 minute preso of why chiropractic health is important. Fine, I get it. I need to get my spine properly aligned for maximum awesomeness. Duh. That’s why I’m here. But do you have to make it feel like I just sat through a time share meeting? I felt dirty walking out of that room.
So we finally go and look at my x-​rays and it felt really alarmist. «Here are ALL of the things wrong with you.» Look, I know I have problems. That and the deal are the reasons why I’m here. Now that you’re presented with the problems, the doctor tells you about how they would like to fix you. Now here’s the sales pitch. I should have run away when the sales began. I hadn’t given them any insurance info yet so he told me of their basic deal. It’s over $ 3500. Sure it includes a bunch of stuff like 36 adjustments, but holy carp! That’s a lot of money to be asking.
Regardless, I get my first adjustment. It’s part of the deal. As part of the adjustment, I get the tour of how their system works. You get a key fob and there’s a robotic overlord that dictates where you go. The adjustment goes quick and feels nice. Yay. So I decide to cave and give them another shot. I’ll come in a few days later for another adjustment. (Oh, they were recommending that I come in 3x week.)
For my second adjustment, it was just a mess. I get there and I get to sit in the row of seats for about 45 minutes for my turn. Now I’m finally seeing the factory that is University Chiropractic. Basically it’s one doctor with three tables. She just goes from one to the next churning through people as quick as possible. This is what it feels like to be cattle. Meh.
I have no doubt that some people have had their problems relieved by University Chiropractic. For me, I just don’t like it when these types of services feel so alarmist at what is ailing me when I didn’t have any trauma or any significant issues to trigger my visit. I also don’t want to feel like meat — well, at least not at the chiro. I want somebody who talk to me and guide me to feeling better. Not just a crack, crack, gimme money now please. kthxbai.
These guys definitely have the technology and fancy office space. But it’s just not for me. I wanted to like this place more. But the heavy sales pitch really turned me off and the long wait was the deal closer.
