I had a 12pm appt. I didn’t end up leaving until after 2pm. The exam is done by one of the floor associates. No problem there. However, it wasn’t until after I saw the dr and had to pick out my frames that everything became a disaster. The lady that was supposed to help pick out fames disappeared. After 15 minutes of waiting someone else finally took over. The staff are completely unprofessional. Taking personal phone calls and discussing their bonuses out loud. Do yourself a favor, go to Cohen’s. At least you’ll get your glasses the same day.

I had a great experience at Visionworks in Paramus. I made an appointment and didn’t wait at all. Front desk was very polite and professional. Was initially examined by Sarah Park. She was an absolute pleasure. Very thorough and informative. I gave it only 4 stars because honestly the glasses are expensive. In this day and age where you can get a full pair of glasses online for under $ 100, these storefronts need to get creative to compete.

Took a client here for work. 4 floor staff and no assistance for wayy longer than it should’ve taken. Then the staff tried to upsale my special needs client just to make money since insurance covered a free pair of glasses. Not before telling her that her frames choice wasn’t a good one smh. It took over an hour just to put in the order for the glasses… in the meantime, another customer is ranting about the wrong rx being put in her frames. Do yourself a favor and go to lenscrafters or cohens.

This firm does poor quality work and is basically a fraud… I had ordered a pair of reading glasses and when they were ready, I picked up, did not get offered a «try-on» or any face to face with optician. In 3 weeks, one of the temple pieces fell off… I took it back and had to buy a new frame… another $ 100 down the tube. After getting the new pair, one of the lenses fell out and I lost it… I have no idea how or why VISIONWORKS stays in business. I am now requesting that they replace the lost lens at no cost to me… No word yet from a so-called manager as to whether they’ll do what I requested. The new frame was done in July, and the lens disappeared in August… I will update this review when I have received an answer from VISIONWORKS.

Great selection and the staff is knowledgeable about our insurance options and how to save money. One doc(female with an accent) is good, another older male was TERRIBLE, even messed up the prescription.

Recently me and my husband went to this place because of our insurance I use to go to Sears. A friend of mine told me to check this place out. so we did. The eye dr i had was a very nice man. I don’t know his name. Big older man he did my Rx correct. My husband had some woman Eye dr. he didn’t give her his old eyeglasses. 1st when he picked up his glasses he couldn’t see out of the one lense the eye dr said someone made a mistake with his Rx. 2nd time he went back picked them up still my husband was seeing blurry and he was told he has to get use to them and he said it magnifies alot. He drove with them on still no good. He got a severe eye pain and felt sick like he was going to vomit. We went back to complain 2 days later. He had a new eye dr. check his vision and he gave her his old eyeglasses. The new woman eye dr said the other eye dr gave you a very very strong Rx. I bitched and said that so called eye dr almost messed my husbands eyes up she shouldn’t have a license. That’s if she did. Fuckin asshole. Be careful when you get your eyes checked. You know your eyes and body.

The doctor at this place is nice but the staff? Totally unprofessional, rude and uncooperative. From the way they greet you to not calling when your lenses are in I give them not even one star. The only reason I go there is because it is located close to my house and also that I can get the exam and the lenses at the same place.

Worst experience ever! The staff is extremely rude and ridiculously unprofressional. My husband and I were stuck in traffic on Rt 17N on our way to our appointment and there was an accident so traffic was not moving. I called to tell them that we were almost at the uturn exit. About 5 mins away and the lady on the phone said«well you guys will just have to wait as we are going to see the next customer». I said again, that we were literally 5 minutes away and late due to an accident on the highway and she said«well too bad, you guys can wait until we’re done seeing everyone that showed up „on time“ for their appointments». To no surprise we wound up waiting three hours to have our eyes examined! So after making us wait three hrs to see the eye doctor for being 5 minutes late, they had the nerve to tell us that they were closing and we had to come back another day to pick out our frames! We will NEVER go back there again! I was so upset I brought this to their corporate headquarters attention. Hopefully they straighten that place out, because I don’t see that location staying open much longer treating their patients the way they do!

I will never go to this place again. I have been a loyal customer for years, but their service, attitude, and lenses have made me regret going back to them. Last year, I had same problem, I had this year. Who ever makes the lenses are doing something wrong. Last year they corrected lenses and I was able to see better. This year it took me 3 visits back to correct the lenses. A waste of time, patience, and worst of all the staff is always chating it up. So while you wait to see doctor, they are chatty. Then when you call over phone, they hang up too fast. When your lenses are«fixed» they don’t even call you. I don’t even think they bother to fix the lenses the first time I told them something was wrong. The worst part is staff says, wear them, and let your eyes get use to them. If I tell you, they are not clear, then why make me drive with them and settle for lenses that make me want to squint. Their frames are nice, and that is why I went back to them. I didn’t expect them to screw up my lenses again, and again.

I’ve been coming to Visionworks(formerly EyeDrx) on and off(mostly off) for about 20 years. They take my vision plan and they have a few locations around NNJ so it’s convenient. Definitely try and make an appointment if you need an eye exam. I spent about an hour and a half in the store from start to finish without an appointment.(no glasses needed…20/20 vision!) The staff was great and the female optometrist(krau??) is great. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely would recommend. The only drawback is they don’t carry higher– end frames. If your looking for that you will have to go elsewhere. Located on Route 17 south in the Staples(formerly Gap) strip mall.
