The Rock Cafe

Someone recommended this place to us while we were visiting a local car dealership. Not sure why. I ordered a Rachel on Rye and got a Ruben, french fries were clearly leftover and room temperature and my husband sandwich bread was hard as a rock on one end (clearly microwaved). We didn’t even complain because we were starving and my husband offered to eat the sandwich that I didn’t order. Won’t be back here.

If you are looking for something to eat in this area then you can’t do much better than The Rock. All of the food is a step up from most diners, and fast food has nothing on this place. If you like real ice cream shakes or scoops then it’s just icing on the cake. It’s not that one part of a meal is amazing, it’s just that every part is thought about. For example, the bread is not just plain cheap buns.
I like the BLT (when the bacon is crisp, sometimes it’s not), the cheesesteak is good, the fish sandwich is good, potato salad is nice, soups are decent, the ice cream is great.
The place is clean and the young staff is pleasant and helpful. The location is convenient and the food doesn’t usually take more than 5 minutes.
I have been to Paris, KY about 10 times and have not visited any other restaurants here since finding this place. I even plan my trip so I’m hungry when I get there.

Such a wonder place to eat. Their food is delicious and the ice cream is awesome. They have free WiFi. You can sit inside or outside. Great service and they also offer books and more. Definitely check this place out.

I’ve always enjoyed the sandwiches here. Usually a Philly Cheesesteak & it’s the bomb every time. Always fresh! It’s a little pricey but the food quality is HIGH and CONSISTENT.

Alright, here it goes.
This place is what you would expect if you took a Dairy Queen and smashed it into a Barnes and Noble.
The food wasn’t spectacular or anything to die for, but it could have been a lot worse.
The outside patio mostly stone work that you would find in a Dairy Queen patio but it had the chairs of a bookstore. Well shaded.
Inside were books stands between the tables and a separate room were also some books, the selection was small.
The biggest problem I have, the lunch special with $ 9.69. The Big Jonah, fish sandwich side of onion rings and a pop. I however wanted to substitute the root beer float. Rather than giving me a charge for the difference though, the clerk insisted on ringing everything separately which brought my total up to around $ 14.
After checking the menu on what the cost of an ice cream scoop would’ve costed to place into my root beer, I realized I would only be saving about $ 2 and decided that I would rather not disrupt the serenity of the atmosphere by pushing the issue. (Which is not my usual response by any means.)
The only review I can even think to give this place is, to bottom line it, could have been a lot worse.

The Whale sandwich lives up to the name and with the full flavor profile of a great fish sandwich. Makes the sandwich worth every bite. If you can finish it. The Rock staff are always friendly, prices are great, and the place is clean. Highly recommend.

Best Philly cheesesteak in Kentucky! The staff is friendly and the service excellent, but beware, you’ll be surrounded with fundamentalist Christian books and gift items — not something I’m accustomed to at an eating establishment.
Still– well worth a visit. The food is great!

Employees were very friendly and helpful! Had the pork BBQ sandwich and it was great! They use Sweet Baby Ray’s sauce, which I love, so that was a bonus. Nice atmosphere… a busy place at lunch. Free wifi. Will definitely make the drive from Georgetown again!

Try their Philly Cheese steak. Very tasty! Salt carmel ice cream is deliscious as well.
