I work in town and always fondly remembered going to the Einstein Bros. when I used to work in Glencoe. Not so with this location. The food options are great but the employees have consistently been frazzled or apathetic. As I’m sitting here writing this review I’ve been waiting 15 minutes for a bagel sandwich and there was only one other person in front of me in line. I keep saying I’m not going to come back here but I continue to come back. Never again after today. There’s no excuse for such a shoddily run business.

I like the coffee here so I go a lot dying the week. The service has always been just OK. It’s hard for them to keep employees and the place is poorly run. This is a corporate staffing issue. The people that are working are overworked and often screw things up. It’s no wonder they can’t retain employees. Think I’ll start going to panera.

I’ve been in here quite a few times over the past couple years… Each time it seems like half the employees don’t feel like doing anything and the other half are frazzled and annoyed. Really should hire more professional, friendly, hard working employees. The people in charge are usually good, but seems like the employees are lazy. Food is usually good but can be mediocre if you get a mostly lazy staff that day.

Good bagels but it’s so unbelievably slow that they mess up your order and it’s not even worth the money

teach your employees to be less frazzled and more friendly. I didn’t have my bakers dozen sliced for fear of getting yelled at. 2⁄10 would not recommend, and if panera hadn’t run out of bagels I wouldn’t have come here at all.

I ussaly go here for breakfast every week. But almost every time I come now they either have no bagels or only a few. I recommend going to panera bread

This location apparently closes at 5PM. Myself and two other customers walked into the store at 4:53PM and were greeted with«hi guys we close in a few minutes.» I believe that to be very unprofessional & very unwelcoming, considering’s Starbucks three doors down is open till 9PM. I have been in business for many years, and I assert that when the customer walks in the door during business hours they are your customer. If you choose to lock your door and inform people you’re closed after business hours that is your prerogative and much more professional than making the customer feel rushed and uncomfortable. This is not the first time I feel like I was inconveniencing the Einstein’s crew. This type of overall attitude starts at the top. Starbucks from now on.

If you like good strong coffee that’s not burned, bypass Starbucks down the block and get a cup of Melvyn’s Dark Roast at Einstein’s. Throw in a shmear and you’ve got a tasty breakfast for less that $ 5. Park on the street or across the street in the Village lot.

I love Einstein’s yummy bagels and the many cream cheese flavor options. They are always fresh and I prefer them over Panera’s bagels. Einstein’s are a bit softer where I can eat them without toasting them. and when I do toast them, they are just so YUM. Breakfast sandwiches are OK — I don’t really care for processed egg patties, but they are pretty decent if you want a quick bite in the morning. Service is fine. No complaints. Will continue purchasing bagels from here.

When I went in I asked how much my order would be with a bagel and drink i got a snobbish reply. I was pretty much discouraged to make an order because my server told me they were about to close and they turned off the lights before I could make my order.

I love coming here for my bagel fix! They have a variety of bagels & schmear. Yes, I used the word schmear. The service is always quick and they are never out of my favorites. The menu has expanded to lunch sandwiches and little dessert treats. This Einstein’s has been at this location foreverrrr, so they must be doing something right!

Two stars for the food which, I gotta say, isn’t too bad. Have never had a complaint about it. I mostly come here because of the coupons and deals I get. As for service, I think the reason it’s so lacking is the manager’s fault. Teens are teens. They’re broody, moody, can be immature and give you attitude. It’s up to the manager to lead his or her team and teach these young men and women how to run a successful establishment. Like a few reviewers I also noticed the dirt all around, the 4 kinds of chips(didn’t realize it at first until I found it strange that I’ve been staring at the chips for 5 mins and still haven’t decided which ones to grab). The coupons keep me coming back, but if not for that, I don’t think I’d give this place another chance.

We used to come here every Sunday for bagels. Every single sunday. We overslept one sunday and showed up about an hour before close. The following is what happened: We ordered 2 broccoli cheddar soups and two bagel sandwiches. I watched the girl who was working literally scrape the innards of the soup pot for more soup. She ended up throwing orange refuse and burned scraps into a cup for my manfriend. I then watched her try to do the same again and got her attn and stated, we don’t want the(literally) bottom of the barrel. Just no thanks. Not other sides were offered to sub, no apologies were made for the grossburger slop they tried to give us… they just wanted us to take the gross orange mess and go!!! I emailed corportate specifially stating that I wasn’t asking for anything for free and they should know that they messed up and I got a generic email reply. Totally done with this dump. You might have awesome bagels but you suck a lot. There I said it.

Delicious and affordable food served quickly will always have a place in my heart, even if it IS a chain restaurant. That being said, I agree that not dining in would be a better idea for those who don’t want to be surrounded by kids(me), but it isn’t all that bad eating there, either. The servers aren’t exactly the friendliest, but really… they’re young. I was jaded in my teens too… I don’t expect them to be enthusiastic about my order.

Neighborhood bagel shop. It’s super cute, they remodeled it a few years back and it’s definitely a cuter, more cozy place to have some breakfast. Luckily, though, they’re right next to Starbucks because although they have good coffee, Starbucks has the Clover, and nothing beats that: P Head on over here and try my favorite: chocolate chip bagel with whipped strawberry cream cheese. Yum! I have yet to receive a negative comment about my combo! :]

Good, quick food. I had the breakfast bagel sandwich and it was made with good ingredients. I would go back if I was in the area. I like that the menu has a ton of choices not just with bagels but with the types of sandwiches you can make.

Einstein’s serves up some decent bagels. I get the lox and bagel sandwich to share with mom and we always enjoy it. This location seemed clean and the service was fine, so all in all, I have no complaints.

Einstein’s has great marketing — particularly with their free bagel/smear coupons! I’ve been coming to Einstein’s more because of the coupons, but I can’t say I’m always that impressed with the service and/or the lunch fare. The staff is young, and not all that friendly. When I ask for cream cheese on the side, I often get it ON the bagel. The place is usually not very clean either… probably from all the kids who frequent this location! I tried their new bagel thin today and although I wanted it on a wheat bagel thin, they only had plain. I thought turkey-bacon, avocado, tomato bagel thin meant turkey AND bacon AND etc etc. Well it was essentially a very lame BLT — the actual bacon was turkey. I guess that’s what you get for less than 400 calories! Pickles are a hit or miss — sometimes you get one and sometimes you don’t. And I don’t like how they only have 4 varieties of chips — it’s just strange. You must either like jalapeño, cheddar sun chips, baked plain chips, or classic lays. I wish they would offer carrot sticks as a healthy side too…

I like Einsteins as a lunch option. It’s a nice change from Subway, Quiznos, Panera which are all very close by. The veg out bagel sandwich is great! I think it’s pretty much the only thing I ever get when I eat here. For a side, you can now get any salad in a very small size, which I think is pretty neat. They have also put two tables out front. When it’s nice out, you can actually sit outside. My only complaint about this location is the large number of small children who are here during the lunch hour. This is due to the fact that kids love bagels and also the Park Ridge library is across the street. I don’t think this is going to change anytime soon.
