Rip off! Wanted to support a local business but was ripped off! Took my ten speed bike in for a tuneup which I was told included a cleaning.
After picking the bike up I commented that it still looked dirty and was told that a more in depth cleaning was extra. But the bike wasn’t even cleaned.
After paying and hoping to ride home I noticed once I got on the bike the tire was flat. Took it back in and said how could miss a flat tire. Was told nobody’s perfect.
Okay tire fixed and start to ride home and test the gears and not shifting smoothly and brakes are screeching. Once again I return and showed the brakes were metal to metal on the rim. Chain was not cleaned or lubed.
I said nothing was done and asked for a refund. The worker said he had no authority to refund without the owner. I asked him to call the owner and give me a refund and he refused.
I filed a complaint with the better business bureau and waiting for the refund.
One other note. While I was there another customer came in and complained he came in for a flat the day before and it’s flat again.
Avoid this place for shoddy workmanship if they even do the work.
Too bad can’t give negative stars!

John the owner is great! Went in to the store not knowing what to expect and hoping that I could find a bike. Just moved from Orlando, FL to Chicago and it has been quite a change to say the least. Long story short– John is informative, kind and very helpful. I am so happy I found this place!
Parking on the street in front of the store is free for two hours. There is a selection of beautiful new bikes and a few used (I purchased a used bike in amazing condition). This place has bikes and all the accessories and necessities you will need!

Walked in ready to buy. The owner greeted me and everything started out just fine. He started showing me different bikes and answering questions and then the phone rang. He picked up the phone and instead of telling the person online to hold or he would call them back because there was a customer in the store he started talking to them at length asking questions ignoring me completely. It’s the same as if somebody else had walked in the store and he would start paying attention to them and ignoring me. That’s unacceptable. So I walked out.

This place is THE BEST! John, the new owner, is amazing. His prices can’t be beat and the service is top notch. For example, I went to take my three little kids on a walk today and found the front tire of my stroller had a hole in it. I took it there this morning and, without my having to ask, he went in the back and fixed it for me in 2 minutes! I thought I would have to wait at least a day or so.
We also have bought stuff there (helmets, grips, etc.) and his prices are great, especially for a small independent shop like this.
He definitely will be our go-​to bike shop from now on.

Marty’s is a great bike shop, John works exceptionally well with his customers. He is very helpful and experienced. I will return to his shop, whenever I need service.

I would give this place more stars if possible! The nicest man (although his accent may make him seem mean at first). He is willing to teach you how to do things has reasonable prices…(unlike some other Park Ridge bike stores) He didn’t even charge me to deconstruct my bike and helped me pack up my bike! I cannot say enough good things about this place. There may not be a huge selection but with repairs he is my main man. I am off to bake him some cookies in thanks but you should go there and see the kindness yourself!
