Very rude. The staff never greets me when I walk in. They are sooooo over priced! Skip this shop and go where you are appreciated!

Well, I’m sure I would like Raffio Gifts if I could get in. My wife is out of town for a few days and wanted to get her a gift that I saw online Raffia is one of the only places in the area to have. I work in downtown Park Ridge, so I went this past Saturday after work at 3:30pm knowing they’re open til 5. I walk up to the door which has the hours stating open til 5, and a big«OPEN» hanging sign… yet the lights are all off and the door is locked. No one is there. Today their hours are Noon-4. I wised up this time and called ahead figuring I’d probably be left out in the cold again if I ventured to the store again today. 3 calls and an hour later and still no answer. No phone message saying they’ve closed for another reason, no explanation. Maybe I’m asking for too much, but I figure that if hours are online, in your window, and a sign is hanging that says«OPEN,» you should probably be open. Sufficed to say I’m going to be looking elsewhere for the gift for my wife.

Sometimes I have a problem buying gifts. As in I often follow the one for you, one for me rule. Oh well, I’m stimulating the economy, right? Raffia seems to be the quintissential gifty place. It’s chock full of delightful smells and goodies. Beautiful and funny cards, Catherine Popesco jewelry, local magnets, funny trinkets like travel air freshener(«poo pourri»), locally made tees from Megan Lee designs, scarves, wallets, and even delicious snacks! Prices are a tad high but that seems to be typical for gift type locales. So, if you find yourself traipsing around Park Ridge and you need a gift for someone at some point, do stop in and check out Raffia!

This shop has the cutest gifts to buy anyone! The shop owner is very friendly, and helped me choose some hard to buy for people… and they loved each and every gift! I think shopping local is very important these days too!

I’ve been stopping in here for years now, and not much has changed — and that’s both good and bad. The store is huge inside and carries a bunch of different cutesy gifts — perfect for last second shopping. There’s bath and body, jewelry, stationary, holiday, etc. My main prob with the store is the employees. I remember times as a teenager when I walked up to the counter w/purchase in hand and the girls working there just carried on their convo totally oblivious to me. Umm… I may be skinny, but the tomato red hair — kinda hard to ignore. This, coupled with the fact that I’ve always thought they were a little pricey, allows my cheap ass to find something I like, run home, and buy it cheaper online — easily saving at least 30% w/no guilty feelings. And just yesterday I walked in, waved, did the whole«hi, how are you?» thingie — I can’t believe I totally just used thingie like it’s a real word — and was ignored. Guess some things never change.

This cute little nook in downtown Park Ridge truly is a one stop shop for any occasion. You can get holiday decorations, purses, jewelry, wedding gifts and much more for whatever price range you are looking at. The workers there are always so nice and helpful; you can get lost in this place for hours. They also gift wrap your gift really nice and will cater to whatever type of gift it is. So if you happen to have 3 parties in the next week or so, stop by here and your shopping with be done!

Stop in and look around you may find something for your wife or girlfriend or Mom at this pricey gift shop. It’s the location and the decorative store that will get you in once and maybe more if you liked it more than I do.
