This place is never disappointing. Very good food in quality and taste compared to the rest of surrounding restaurant. Good for take out and parties rather then sitting in restaurant

If my food wasn’t cold then it would have been a 4 star. I will definitely order from them again. Shrimp was way too salty, naan was cold and stuff. Chicken tikka wasn’t tender enough. My hubby liked the lamb. I’m super happy that they deliver

They’re open! Go! It got a small facelift, but the menu is the same — still delish and a good value

Came here for a buffet on a Friday with a few friends who had high praises for it. Tower of India is a small Indian restaurant in the middle of a pretty busy strip mall that seems to specialize in ethnic foods, and has very limited parking. Luckily for us, we managed to find a spot fairly quickly, and ventured inside. The restaurant is pretty typical for décor — a few Indian-inspired paintings adorn the walls, sitar music hums quietly in the background, and the buffet is laid out in an «L» shape along the back wall. Our server /the owner was very friendly and quick to take away our empty dishes, and it was pretty nice that they offered both roti and naan as options for the table. The roti came out fairly quickly, and was pretty good. The buffet had an… interesting layout. The plates were by the salad station(a closed metal refrigerated fixture that houses all the chutneys, salads, etc), but the rice was on the opposite end of the buffet inside a giant rice cooker(no basmati pilaf here, folks). A little awkward, but I guess it works. The food more than made up for everything, with the chicken makhani & the kofta being my favorite — full of flavor and perfectly cooked. We also ordered a few lassi’s(mostly mango, I got a salty), which while tasting OK, were room temperature. I’ll probably skip the specialty drinks next time — kind of wanted something cool and refreshing to enjoy the buffet with. Pretty good prices and decent food means I’ll be back again at some point. Since I’m often in the area to visit friends, this will be a solid option for takeout.

I guess they read the bad review here from 2009 and stepped it up. I’ve been eating here/taking out for almost a year and at least once every two weeks. Their chicken tikka masala is very delicious! I also like their okra dish a lot. I tried lamb here once but never ordered it again because I had too many fatty pieces. But the chicken is only white meat and very tasty. The flavor and quality have been consistent.

I have never had better malai kofta at any other indian restuarant than this place. The consistency in the taste and color of the gravy has been the same ever since i started eating at this restuarant 2 years ago. I like their palak paneer as well. Some of their lamb and chicken curries are very flavorful. I have been going there for last two years almost once a month. You will not be disappointed.

Been going here for years since it is so close. I love their Malai Kofta & Palak Paneer. Be prepared that a spicy will be extremely spicy(we usually get a mild or medium despite being a fan of spicy food). Lost a star because I have gone to better restaurnts in Edison so while I cannot say it is the absolute best it is def. up there. Also lost a star because I have never tried the buffet because there wasn’t too many options and since I am vegetarian my options were narrowed down even further. Def. try it if you are in the area.

This review is for takeout only. We placed an order for take out and it was delicious! I was really surprised with the quantity of food that was given. Normally with indian take out we get a few pieces of meat in our food, but this was not the case here. We had 1. Malai Tikka chicken 2. Chicken Tikka Masala 3. Lamb Briyani 4. Garlic Naan All the dishes were flavorful and not bland at all. I’m indian and I’ve eaten at a lot of indian restaurants so I am usually very picky. They did not skimp on quality or quantity. Both of the chicken dishes were fresh and the chicken was tender and they used white meat. The only drawback was that the briyani was TOO spicy. I can handle a large amount of spice but this was just way too much for me. Besides that I really liked this place and will continue to get takeout from here.

probably a sub par indian restaurant… had two items to go… once had the paneer tikka… it was average… not the worst, nor the best. it was a little heavy in cream for my taste… i prefer my north indian food with less heavy cream. or preferably yogurt instead of cream. anyway, also had a fish pakora appetizer. these were very bad… the fish may or may not have been good, but the batter used for coking was not very good, and pakora are supposed to be crispy, these were soft and oily. overall not very pleased.

One of the best in area. I was here on vacation and decided to stop by on the way to NY. Their chicken kabab was awesome. Amritsari chholle was something I can never forget.

worst. chicken. tikka. masala. ever. The chicken tasted like it was past it’s prime and it was all dark meat. And there was hardly any of it in the huge container of sauce I received. And it was $ 10.50. Ridiculous. Not yummy. Not a good deal. Not happy. RAR.
