If you are looking for a good south Indian close to home made food this is the place to go. They have AYCE Sambar(Lentil soup) which you can server by yourself, They have a wide variety of Dosas, Uthappams and other South Indian breakfast and snack items. I tried most of their items and was never disappointed. Their chutneys can get a bit bad sometimes and all you have to do is ask and will get you a fresh made one. Tip: Dont expect service.

love it — just wish they used paper instead of styrofoam. There is a Bollywood station playing in the corner.

Excellent spot. 1) Come here for Indian vegetarian food. Always excellent. 2) Make sure to get the Masala tea. Do not skip it. It is unbelievable. 3) Service is quick and ambiance is nice.

Dosa is good but Sambar has too much Red pepper in it .Lot of people have problem with this. Make less spicy & put hot sauce on side or two types.

Amazing dosas! After having sub-standard dosas in New York and Edison for several years, I was amazed at the quality and taste of these dosas. They were exactly like the dosas I had when I was a child in Bangalore. The place itself is no frills, but the food is so cheap, what would you expect? The masala dosa/vada combo for $ 8 is a great deal. The dosa is crisp, the masala is spiced just right and the sambhar has a great consistency. What’s more, you can have as much sambhar as you want. We will be back.

Awful service. 5 people got fed before me, and I waited s long time for food that was slopped together. Also, overpriced. What happened? It used to be so good.

I have eaten here before had been satisfied overall, however, all that changed this past weekend. It was a busy Saturday night, though late and I did not appreciate the cashier/manager taking orders over the phone while keeping me and many others waiting for almost 10 minutes. The sambhar was barely passable… hardly any veggies and bland in taste. Dosas were just alright and I couldn’t finish my Uttapam, being as we had been waiting in the restaurant for over 25 minutes for our food. When I went over to ask for a take out box, the cashier(who was again putting together take-out orders and not paying attention to those waiting) just pointed to an open small container for me to take. He might have also been on the phone again. And I agree with other reviewers about the condition of the floor, tables and restroom. Since they are attracting large crowds, they can probably afford to hire more trained staff and improve the quality of the customer experience. I will not be going back.

Aaaah! This place. My mouth waters when I think of this place. You know how when you see a menu, you tasted all those items there, and not sure what to order because you like everything in it? Well, this is that place for me. Its been a while since I have been there since I moved out of state, but by far to me its the best veg Indian restaurant in Parsippany area. The Sambar(Lentil soup) is just sooo delicious. Indian food lovers who happen to visit Parsippany, must check this place out.

It’s hard to find good cheap vegetarian food anywhere. This place is all that and more. If you don’t like to try new spicy things, this place is not for you. Almost everything on the menu is hot, hot, hot. Don’t come here for the décor. It’s a dive and everything is served on styrofoam plates. Come here for cheap, good, spicy, hot, vegetarian, south Indian cuisine. I would stick to the Idly/Vada Masala Dosa Combo, Vegetable Biryani and the South Indian Thali. You could also do the Chapati with Curry and Dal which is essentially the Thali meal without rice and Mirchi Bajji(onion fritters) with a different bread on the side. The Briyani comes with Mirchi Bajji which makes it a pretty good deal. If you feel like experimenting, my favorite dosa is the Pesarattu with Upma. The dough is green from the spices but not too spicy and the filling(upma) is a grain I am not familiar with, as opposed to the potatoes you get when you order masala. Don’t forget the Sambhar which is a spicy lentil soup. Comes free with every meal but it’s self serve from a hotpot next to the drinks fridge.

Not a dinning experience. But for the price and quality of food I will give them 5 stars. Perfect South Indian food.

Food and services were on of the worst, the masala wada and medu wada were refried and hard as rock. The dosa was bit greasy served on a cheap Styrofoam plate. The tables dirty, bathroom overflowing and food on the floor. The cashier was the cook, made the food without washing hands after taking money for the food. Wonder how Parsippany health department rates thus place. Never visiting again.

Sri Ganes’s Dosa House. Wow this is some exceptional Dosa. It’s my all time favorite dosa house. It’s «a hole in the wall» authentic dosa palace. I love«hole in the wall» eating places. I find they have the most authentic cuisines. You can tell the food is authentic by the number of Indian patrons.

This is a quintessential Dosa«dive bar.» The Dosas are very good. The sambar is well seasoned, self serve and right on point. The dosa shell isn’t the most exciting but totally adequate. The chutneys round out the flavor well. This isn’t a spot for a date and there is zero ambiance. $ 6 masala Dosas. If you want a solid, inexpensive Dosa experience with no frills and a step into India vibe including Indian Blue and white walls. Forgetaboutit. Oh and 100% PURE Vegetarian. Lol.

If the review was for just the food it would probably be a 4. However the overall experience is underwhelming. Seemed like no one wanted to be there at work and the process of ordering food was confusing. We wrote what we wanted on a sheet of paper and handed to the chef/clerk. We were a party of 15. The variety of Dosa offerings was amazing. Food was okay, but was served in flimsy Styrofoam plated the dosas overflowed touching the somewhat filthy table. Plasticware was similarly cheap. Okay for an occasional South Indian food fix, but don’t expect a stellar dining experience.

I love everything here. The food is great and the sambar delicious. The only thing I would like is probably a bit renovated look to the place and a bit cleanliness… If they renovate the place a bit… it will sure be a crowd puller for the food and location they r at.

Food was good but the vibe was gross and weird. It was confusing to order and pay and there were flies buzzing around us as we tried to eat. It feels like a creepy cafeteria. I love dosa, so I will be trying the one in jersey city, I did not feel welcome here. It was gross as far as ambiance. I was not happy with the bathroom here– sketchy.

If you want to have an authentic dosa then this is the place to be. I simply love different types of dosas. My favorite is cheese plain dosa and cheese rava dosa. Mango lassi is also delicious. It has never been that I have visited there and have not had mango lassi. Not much has been done for the ambience. Buy who cares for the ambience if the good is delicious.
