Great Mexican breakfast options and cute retro diner. Nothing fancy but we like that.

Lovely old fashioned diner. Time travel back to the 50s. Wonderful food if you have a good appetite and strong coronaries. Great service.

Very disappointing, I took my wife here because I remember coming hear years ago. First impression it was very dirty, the ceiling fans were dirty, my wife’s coffee cup was dirty, and my knife was dirty. Everyone was pleasant, but service was very slow. The place was less than half full so it shouldn’t have taken so long to, get a menu, place an order, get food. The salsa was indeed good but most of the other food was marginal, the worst part for me was the corned beef hash. The menu claimed«old fashioned corned beef» in fact it’s just canned corned beef hash. This seems like deliberate misrepresentation. At the end of the day there are better, cleaner diners in the area I find it hard to give it more than 1 star with all these issues.

I came in on a Thursday morning around 11. Plenty of street parking. I love diners. This one is about 4 blocks west of PCC. It’s right along the Rose Parade route on Colorado. I can see why Mad Men was filmed here. Anna Kendrick’s Cups music video was also filmed here. Lots of studio people must come here. Steve O(Jackass) has his own quesadilla named after him. Lots of pics on the wall. Very nostalgic feel. Service is slow. I sat at the counter for 10 mins before I was acknowledged. Luckily there was a menu nearby. Found out there was only 1 busser and 1 waitress for 10 tables. ½ of them were regulars. LOVETHAT! I got my food within 5 mins of ordering.(Andy’s breakfast with scrambled eggs and bacon). Food was good for what I paid. I would come back to try their sandwiches.

A neighborhood treasure. Short-order food is an art and this place is a classic. A diner that has been a location for tv and movies. My favorite lunch is the grilled chicken with fruit. I’ve sent others here to try this moist and flavorful sandwich and they agreed… better than some table cloth restaurants. This is a great place for talking and meeting some nice friendly people. Jess the owner takes care of customers like they are family…(eat all your veggies.) Children seem at home here and enjoy watching all the action. Staff is friendly and attentive and seem to know alot of people by name. Crowded and very popular on the weekends. It is worth the wait. I stop in after 1pm to avoid the noon rush. The patrons are very loyal. The perfect place to meet and talk with some friends.

First, let me say 3 stars because the food was great but the service was horrible. We’ve been to this old school diner several times. It’s usually crowded with locals on the weekends, so expect a bit of a wait. They’ve packed so many tables in this tiny diner, that many people seemed to have trouble comfortably sliding into the booths and the arrangement of the booths is a veritable maze. On this visit, we went early and were seated immediately. A nice young man named Brangel brought us coffee and tea right away. Then the wait began. Tick tock…15 minutes later we started trying to waive down the waitress(Cami) who we’d seen serving other near us. Eventually we got some’s attention who told Cami to go take our order. To say Cami was surly and cold would be a gross understatement. Keep in mind, it wasn’t busy yet. Cami: Are you ready to order? Us: Yes, we were ready 15 minutes ago. Cami: blank stare, no apology or acknowledgement. Orders delivered without the obvious extras, such as butter for the pancakes and grits and then when she did bring, it was one tiny little butter tub. It was almost funny. She never came back to ask if everything was okay or if we wanted anything else or if we were ready for our check. If this place were really inexpensive, I wouldn’t have complained at all. But when I drop almost $ 30 for breakfast, I expect a smile at the very least.

Andy’s Coffee Shop is a smallish 40’s/50’s-vintage niche diner situated on Colorado Blvd., about a mile east of Old Town. Before stopping in(recently) for breakfast, I had driven and walked past the restaurant on numerous occasions. From the outside, Andy’s appears to be an old coffee house/breakfast spot that would likely appeal to customers looking for a no-frills/short-order grill/dining experience. That’s me! My first soirée at Andy’s was on a Sunday morning around 10:30am. There is street parking and there is a back parking lot, behind the diner, for customers. I opted for the back parking lot. From the back parking lot there is an entrance that takes you through the kitchen into the dining area. One of the employees guided me along the path which I found helpful. Once I made it to the dining area, I went to the«front» of the restaurant near the Colorado entrance. It took a minute before the waitress noticed me but once I called for her attention, I was immediately seated. The menu was as I expected in that it consisted of classic American diner options… eggs, breakfast meats from the glorious breakfast swine, starchy potatoes, and carbs(toast, muffins, pancakes, etc.). I went for the #10, a spinach/mushroom/cheese omelet with hash browns and wheat toast. I added sausage to the omelet. Personally, I thought the omelet was about as close to perfect as I’d had in recent outings. It wasn’t overcooked nor was it undercooked. The portion was on the heavier side of realistic without being too much and all of the ingredients were tasty. The service at Andy’s was«aight…» It wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t anything to write home about either(in my opinion). My guess is because it was crowded and the few servers in the dining room were continually called upon to service customers. The service wasn’t so bad that I would not go back. The waitress was cordial and professional. Overall, I would recommend Andy’s Coffee Shop to others and I will be back :-) It’s a neat little diner that got the job done for me!

This hidden treasure is our favorite. The place is not fancy but the food is fantastic. It’s hard to find old fashioned coffee shops and thank goodness this one is still here. The staff makes you feel like family. My favorite is the house salsa. Yes, the salsa. It’s perfection.

This is a small diner from the 1960s to early 1970s that serves exceptional breakfast and good friendly service. Bacon is cooked right and pretty crispy as it shiukd be. Pancakes, eggs, and hash brown are just perfect. I love it here and this place is far better than any restaurant chains. I highly recommend you stop by. Oh, the parking is in the rear, just enter in the back door where you see cooks and nothing to hide.

This is an awesome old school place to eat it’s very family-oriented their food is deliciously tasty and fresh. Their services is a bit on the slow side but nevertheless excellent. Jesse is super nice and will accommodate to your needs. The prices are great and it definitely a place to try more than once.

An interesting little joint close to Pasadena City College. We orders the corned beef hash and the Denver omelette. The Denver omelette was served folded with the ingredients on top, and without cheese(which I find weird). The various toppings were cooked in a little wine and tasted delicious. The corned beef hash was crispy on the edges and soft in the middle, which is ideal. The hash browns and yoast were both served crispy and delicious. The décor of the restaurant is very unusual in that it seems to be a random smattering of newspaper clippings, movie posters and Betty Boop paraphernalia. The wait staff are friendly and helpful, and service was fantastic. Parking is also good. Portion sizes were large and filling. Prices were very reasonable. Nice to have a decent breakfast joint in the area other than McDonald’s and Jack in the Box.

Andys coffee shop was a unique experience. The atmosphere was a little oldish and classic but I do have to admit the food was delicious. A lot of ways to make ur own breakfasts and great sandwiches. I got the royal club and it was definitely worth it, give it a try

So I came here because of all the positive reviews on here. Well… here’s mine. I came in around 10AM on Sunday morning, so they were a bit busy. We waited about 10 minutes to be sat though, and there were 3 tables waiting to be cleaned! Really? You can’t clean 1 table for me? Unnecessary wait pretty much. There was no one else waiting either. The service here is pretty terrible to. We waited about another 10 minutes to get our order taken and that is ridiculous! They only have two waitresses, and their busser is also a waiter and cashier! Mr multi-tasker I guess but that explains why the service is terrible and SLOW! So now to the food… it’s pretty mediocre. The reviews raved about the breakfast burrito so my boyfriend ordered that. Well, kinda underwhelming! I wouldn’t go out of my way to get this burrito, lucky boy has a better breakfast burrito honestly and WAY bigger! I got the chile quilles, which were pretty tasty but I was disappointed that they ran out of red sauce, so I suggest you get here early if you are looking forward to that. Overall I was super underwhelmed and the reason they lost 2 stars is because they didn’t deserve 5 stars and the service is terrible. I love trying different places so I don’t regret this, since I know now not to come back.

This is a great little 50s diner that I came to all the time when I lived just down the street 30 years ago. But you move and you just get out of the habit. I’ve only been here a hand full of time since Today I was in search for place to eat breakfast with my 11-year-old daughter who’s school is just down the street and Andy’s popped into my mind… I was so glad I did, because I was very impressed with the Huevos mexicanos and salsa verde(the best I’ve had) and great green sauce!!! My daughter had a short stack of fluffy pancakes. The food was great and the coffee was good and so was the service! What more can you ask of a breakfast place? I will be back to try more things on the menu soon!

First of all, it’s a DINER!!! If you’re snobby please do not come in here, you will complain about everything. Personally, I liked my experience. It’s a small place with an old school feel. A waiter named Flo would really fit in(only some of you will get that old reference). It’s so old school that they filmed Mad Men here. Pictures of old school stars also help with the décor. Anyways I had the fit breakfast 2, it was pretty good and it did its job, fill me up. The service was a lil slow but understandable since there’s only 2 waitresses working, plus it’s a DINER! Ot definitely wasn’t expensive because it’s a DINER! So if you aren’t a snob then come on through you’ll get what you expect:)

Definitely a throwback kind of place, serving breakfast and lunch only. I think they close around 2pm or 3pm most days. An usual schedule for me on Sunday had me searching for a breafast place and I have always wanted to try Andy’s Coffee Shop, as I have driven past this place about a million times. The menu is pretty big — all kinds of breakfast burritos, omelettes, chilaquiles, machaca. I was craving french toast, & it also came with 2 eggs & ham/bacon/sausage. I got the ham & immediately regretted it when I saw my plate. I was a big square that looks like it came from a supermarket. Ugh. The french toast & eggs were good, tho. It took a few minutes for the food to come out, but I loved that it was hot. One thing that I thought was unusual was that the syrup was an entire bottle of Aunt Jemima placed on the table. A little ramekin would have been fine. It took forever for me to get my check. I seriously must have sat there for 15 minutes, while a group of college students paid their bills individually on credit cards. They were really lucky that the restaurant allowed this. Now I get why restaurants don’t like it. Interesting place, but I thought it was a little expensive for the atmosphere & quality of food.

I visit this place once a Saturday morning per month. I like the diner atmosphere, which is surprisingly rare to find in Pasadena, and it comes with a Mexican twist. The food portions are on the large side, and I’d give it a 6 on the scale from 1 to GREASEBALL(=10). I definitely come here when I need the energy from a power breakfast — unlimited coffee and a solid breakfast burrito. The food is good and will keep me happy and sated for half the day. It is by no means a masterpiece, and the prices could be lower, but it is what it is and it’s just that guilty craving that needs to be satisfied from time to time. I recommend the breakfast burrito, the huevos rancheros, and the huitlacoches(mushroom quesadillas). My favorite plate, the breakfast burrito is loaded with real cooked eggs and your choice of breakfast meat. It also comes with a side of refried beans to give you that fiber superpower(these beans won’t make you sick, I promise), and a fantastic medium-hot tomato based salsa.

This is your run of the mill breakfast spot. No real original breakfast items on the menu; eggs, pancakes, Mexican specialties and cereal. I recently went for a late morning breakfast and enjoyed the Andy’s special; 3 large pancakes, 2 legit sausages(Not the tiny farmer john styles ones) and eggs. My boyfriend got the chorizo & eggs which came with beans, rice and tortillas and homemade salsa that as other reviewers have mentioned was a solid salsa. For our meals plus coffee was about $ 23 plus tip of course. The price seems to be average and matched the average-ness of the food. I would probably come back because it’s walking distance for me. They also had lunch items which we didn’t try.
