Owner is so rude to his employees. Does not respect. If he can’t handle the pressure then he shouldn’t be their.

Segregated seating at this Café Verde restaurant. While the physical restaurant is truly beautiful, Café Verde’s customer service is downright ugly, degrading, and hurtful to us customers/community members that come in to patronize the establishment. There is definitely a trend/pattern of favortism towards customers of certain/specific cultural/ethnic backgrounds. Came into Café Verde on 6÷12÷16 at 9:32AM. Was told to sit in a specific area of the restaurant, despite asking to be seated in another area. Was told that we had to sit in the first front room of the restaurant. Despite that, I continued to walk through the entire restaurant, because the décor is so beautiful. I wanted to see everything and plus I wanted to find where *I* wanted to sit and not where the waiters wanted to tell me to sit. As I walked through the restaurant, I noticed the seating became progressively nicer in each room. I also observed two waiters following me, asking me to go back to the first front room. It was almost as if they were not wanting the other customers in the nicer rooms to see me. Why? Observed a trend of other other customers coming in who were given a choice as to where to sit and asked where they wanted to be seated. They were allowed to choose their tables and seats in the other areas. After several groups of customers coming in and being given a choice of where to sit, we noticed we were the only ones in the first front room area. Decided to get up and do a walk through the restaurant and noticed a pattern/trend of the other rooms including the second and third room areas filled with people from only one specific cultural/ethnic background. Also noticed that customers who had walked in 20 minutes after us already had their food brought to them, while we were still waiting on ours. As the restaurant began to fill up, observed another pattern/trend of that individuals that were told to sit in our area were of similar cultural/ethnic background as we were. They were not given the choice or asked where they wanted to sit, although there was still plenty of room and tables in the second, third and fourth room area. The food was ok, the bloody mary was delicious and on point. The coffee was good, nothing out of the ordinary, hash brown was ok, but quite thin. The décor is absolutely beautiful and I love the color scheme, but the customer service here has some interesting trends. This was our first time visiting this establishment and have to say that the customer service here is a bit weird. Definitely interesting trends/patterns with the seating… a shame too, because the physical café is beautiful, but the ugly treatment completely destroys any beauty that may have been left to this place. Café Verde is a huge Disappointment. *Epic fail*.

If I could put zero stars on this review, I would! The worst service that I have ever received in my life. Not only was my server beyond rude, he charged a tip to my card after I put zero and a line through it! Unbelievable! I would never return nor recommend to anyone. The staff sucks so much he should just close shop.

Do people actually eat here??? I honestly don’t understand how this place is still in business with these employees. When can you start applying negative stars to reviews? My boyfriend and I dined here today for Sunday brunch, it was slow at about 1 pm there was only 3 tables sat. We ordered 2 waters, a coffee, crab cakes and an omelette. We specified for the omelette to only have bacon, tomato, and union. When the omelette came out it was covered in cheese. We explained my boyfriend has a dairy allergy and the waiter began to argue with us, that we never specified«no cheese». After an extended argument, he brought us out a new omelette with a bad attitude, this time only mushrooms… What is going on?! He argued with us a second time and eventually told us we would need to keep it and thy can’t remake it. This entire time our water was not filled once. Completely dumbfounded at all the great reviews of this place. The two hostesses and two waiters stood at the host podium the entirety of our time there, talking and sharing iPhone photos. Just don’t come here.

4.5 stars. Absolutely love this place! Had brunch outside(at their outdoor seating) and it was fabulous. Enjoying the delicious Blueberry Waffle with Scrambled Eggs & Bacon $ 12.50. Reading while sipping iced tea $ 2.75 and enjoying the breeze while sitting under the shade. Like the feel & vibe on Green St(minus the cars that go by). Such a delightful morning/noon & nice meal~

Stopped in for a Saturday lunch at about 2pm, they offered both breakfast and lunch menus. So it’s nice to have the option, especially so late in the day. We tried this place when it first opened, many years ago. We were impressed then. They must be doing something right as they have enlarged their location. AMBIANCE: Great to have the larger rooms, but the layout is not only a bit choppy; but very tight quarters. Getting to the bathroom from the front room; you are sharing space with wait staff coming/going, as well as bar patrons sitting up at the bar; which is very, very close to the opening for ingress/egress. Tables themselves are very close to one another. You are definitely not going to have a quiet private experience. In the front room, there is a counter that looks something like a deli-counter, really seems out of place for the type of restaurant this is. Also, the day we were there; they had a soccer game on the TV that was apparently a very important game. The wait staff was very interested and involved in this game, and very vocal about the game. To the point of distraction. In fact, when seated, we were approached right away about cocktails; which we opted for. But I finished my appetizer salad before the cocktails were ever served. We believe it was because the wait staff was very involved in that soccer game since they were all congregated behind that deli counter watching the TV, and talking animatedly and not using their«inside» voices. DRINK: Tried their berry habanero margarita, very inventive. The berry habanero is actually in the rim salt, not in the margarita. Very nice flavor to the margarita, not harsh at all. And the berry habanero is that typical relationship we have with peppers — hate it, but need another hit. Hate it, but need another hit. I would definitely order again. FOOD: I also had the appetizer stuffed chili. It had a wonderful taste. I couldn’t identify the sauce, but it was great. The appetizer was just the right size for me with a side salad. Lite, yet filling Spouse had the Cobb salad and it looked lovely; and even though I saw a row of bacon, he felt it didn’t have enough bacon. But I think that was him. I’d try they again; but perhaps ask for another room or check the TV Guide to make sure no soccer games were on.

Was optimistic when we decided to try this new café, but we won’t be coming here again because of the food quality and hostess’s attitude. Their breakfast combo tasted bland and my bacon was 95% fat. The coffee was average and you could taste that the beans were old or low quality. Throughout our time there, one of the girls at the front was too busy gossiping and acting like she was on a power-trip than focusing on providing good customer service(don’t assume people don’t understand Spanish). It seemed like she was intent on getting people out ASAP. Well you succeeded and we won’t return.

I don’t think it’s as good as some of the other cafés in the area. My husband and I were both disappointed today on a Sunday morning. Granted Sunday brunch is the busiest time anywhere, but it’s not just the forgetful service that surprised us(such as serving our toast dry, without providing butter. And not offering to refill our coffee cups until they were long empty and we were planning a trip to Starbucks). The food was tasteless and overpriced! The venue was packed because of its location but my scrambled eggs left me hungry(it was about $ 10 for a tiny serving with just one slice of dry toast!) I asked for fruit(I would have paid extra, as I do at the Lovebirds Café) instead of potatoes with my scrambled eggs and got a garnish of one wafer-thin piece of orange. But my husband’s omelette actually tasted bad! His was a ham and cheese omelette and he said the ham tasted of aluminium or something from a long-standing open can. I’d give it 1 or 0 stars but actually I’ve had worse and the«food» was served quickly. 2 is fair. My top nearby breakfast spot is Green Street Café. You pay the same amount and get twice as much food there, with extras like butter and quick refills on drinks.

Kid-sized portions for delivery, the hash browns were burned into the styrofoam container, the order was missing items, and the manager David was very rude over the phone(after I had already waited on the phone for 10 minutes to complain) Very disappointed with the food and customer service

Bad experience. Look at the ribeye. The service was so slow, no one really understood us and we speak English. The eggs benedict do not come with potatoes or fruit? That is a first. Im still hungry, spent 50 bucks for this?!!

I ordered the savory crêpe with scrambled eggs and sausage. By the name, I thought it would have been savory but it was sweet. I think they used the same batter for both savory and sweet crêpe. There was white sauce over the crêpe and that was heavy and sweet. The eggs where very rich in flavor, almost like they add heavy cream to it. The only thing that was savory was the sausages. But it was the shortest pair of link I ever had. The atmosphere was a little weird. They are suppose to be Spanish breakfast/brunch but had diner tables. The entire restaurant was separated by small little rooms. Not what I had imagined as a breakfast/brunch place would be.

I came here to try it out because of the Unilocal reviews and recommendation from my dad. I had been before but waited for over an hour and left. I decided to come back again and check it out to see what all the hype is about. This place is definitely not worth the time and money. The food is mediocre at best and overpriced. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros and it was just bland and the ranchero sauce had no flavor! Even my work commissary has better Huevos Rancheros than this place and that’s saying a lot! Their hot chocolate was way too sweet too! Overall our experience was just not good. The service was ok even though there was barely anyone in the restaurant. Even with their expanded restaurant the seating is so tight! We were still really close to the table next to us. Definitely won’t be going back again.

Came here again, not by choice, but for a friend’s birthday. I just don’t like the vibe here. The waiters are not nice. The tables are so close together. The diner chairs makes no sense with the entire décor. The food sucks. I had chicken pasta and it tasted like it came out of a can. The dried chicken was precooked. The kind they use for grilled chicken salad so basically that was what I was served. Horrible! Anyway, we all agreed the service is bad and finally will not have to return ever again.

My wife brought us here to try the chicken sandwich because it was so good. Turned out they have a different brunch menu on Sundays and it wasn’t available, so we got a Rib Eye sandwich, Huevos con Chorizo, and blueberry pancakes. All three were absolutely incredible. The atmosphere is very cozy and mom ‘n’ pop. This has become our new goto place for sure.

We chose this place based on all the great reviews on Unilocal, but no. Just No. First. Was told to sit upon arrival, and a menu didnt get set in front of us for what was just shy of 10 minutes. There was only 1 other table there, so they werent busy. Second. Eggs benedict was not good(I saw so many good pictures!). The eggs were poached well, but that was good as it got. Crunchy english muffin they just popped in the toaster for too long. Ham tasted rubbery, and the hollandaise sauce was literally flavorless w/no hint of lemon at all. This was a first for me where the yolk literally overpowered the taste of the sauce, but again this hollandaise was basically flavorless.(be aware that the hashbrowns are extra) Third. Do the opposite of Nike and Dont do It. Go somewhere else for your breakfast.

Spanish/Mexican Breakfast? Never thought of it, but it was quite good! Parking lot behind the restaurant, with plenty of street parking as well. We tried the blueberry waffles, Coconut pancakes, and French Toast. All were good, but I feel that the Blueberry waffles stood out as my favorite! It wasn’t the traditional thick Belgian waffles I was craving, but the flavor was there for sure. Will come back for their signature Heuvos Racheros, but was just not hungry enough for a big breakfast.
