This place is excellent and it confuses me how there is always barely any business! Probably because they have a very hard to see sign, but they have just updated it to a new and bright sign, so hopefully more people will notice this place! Best thai food in the Pasadena area.

I ordered Pad Thai, Green Papaya Salad and the Eggplant. It was delicious and easy to pick up. Still good for leftovers the next day. A place I would come back to when I just want Thai Take Out.

We ordered galanga to go simply because it was on the way home and we were pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I ordered the pad Thai medium spicy. The level of spice was right on point. The container was packed FULL of food; I don’t think they could fit any more food in the container. We also ordered the yellow curry spicy and it was perfect level of spice as well, spicy flavor but not over powering heat. The only complaint I have about the take out was that we ordered an avocado salad with our dishes and when they packed the food they put the avocado salad in between the pad Thai and curry and rice in the bag. By the time we got to eat the salad, it was very warm from the other dishes, which is not so good when you’re expecting a cold salad.

The food here is absolutely delicious. I got the yellow curry, spicy. It was pretty spicy, but I think next time I would get it spicier. Each place has different levels of heat, so I’m totally fine with this. If you love spicy thinga, don’t be afraid to order the hot stuff if you really want a kick. The curry was so good though. The rice and potatoes and chicken and carrots hit the spot. The portion was huge, and I was going to save half for later, but it was so good I ate almost the whole thing. I should have stopped myself because it was definitely two full portions, but I regret nothing. We also got pad Thai, and from my taste it was super good; one of the better pad thais I’ve gotten. We also got an avocado salad, which unfortunately was placed between the other two hot dishes. They should have put it on top. When I went to pick up the food, the place was empty and I had to walk around and find someone. Finally she walked out of the kitchen after I had been standing around for five minutes. They are right next to a hotel, so their bathroom is shared with the pool. I think you need a key? I tried to use it when I was wandering around but it was locked, and no one else was there. Overall, the food was fantastic so I’ll definitely be eating here again.

Galanga Take Two is a life saver when you work in a restaurant-devoid area of Pasadena and am short on time. Their lunch specials are an absolute steal for under $ 10, and the portions are perfect for a girl(dudes may be left wanting more). The flavor of the food is also consistent every time and not overly salty. While I don’t care much for the starter salad in the lunch special, I appreciate the option to choose brown rice at no extra charge. My favorite is the spicy eggplant with tofu, or spicy basil with chicken. Don’t worry, they’re not spicy whatsoever, but have great flavor. I would avoid their noodle dishes(pad Thai, pad see ew, etc) as they’ve been quite bland the last 2 times I tried it. If you want variety for lunch specials, they got it — 2 extensive pages with the option of salmon and seafood as well. The service is very fast and very friendly. Ambiance is modern and clean. Although I’m not sure if I’ll go out of my way to eat here, this place is a good, safe bet for decent Thai food.

I have walked past this place many times and it’s always empty. That has deterred me from wanting to eat here. I finally ate lunch here today. They have lunch specials for $ 6.95. Good variety of options. Small portions but adequate. Service was terrible and the food was far from fresh. The chicken and beef smelled terrible and tasted even worse. Safe to say I won’t be returning.

I ordered the chicken pad Thai medium, edamame, and avocado salad. All of them are tasty. The delivery was a lot faster than the estimated time. I would order from here again.

This place is awesome. Their chicken wonton soup with a little hot sauce and soy sauce was delicious. That was just the appetizer and their cup are generous and loaded with goodies, not just broth. I ordered the green curry and it was the bomb. I’d definitely come back here. The cup was $ 5 and the curry chicken just $ 10(enough for 2 to split).

I don’t know why Galanga Take Two is not as busy as it should be. My first time there was for a birthday party on a weekday night and the food was awesome. Wine and other beverage were also available. The group ordered different things but I particularly liked the tornado appetizer and the spicy basil duck dish. I asked my friends, they all felt great about their food as well. Will return here for lunch/dinner sometime again!

Came here on a Thursday with a group for a bday. I made a reservation a week earlier but it wasn’t necessary since the restaurant was basically empty. Not sure why it’s so empty though because the food is quite good. I ordered a spicy basil chicken with brown rice. It was a decent sized portion as well. We also got the tornado appetizer sampler which was pretty good. Also, we brought a cake and the restaurant provided a knife and plates. Some restaurants charge if you do this, but no charge here. Service was pretty good. For parking, you can just park in the Pasadena Inn lot.

Several times since the baby arrived I have last minute craved Thai food delivery and I’ve had several mediocre ones, but forgot to write a review. Well today’s dinner was so disappointing I vow to remember! Basically the pineapple fried rice and pad see ew both had the texture and consistency of being microwaved. Mushy flavorless rice. Noodles were also mush and falling apart. The BBQ chicken actually had good flavor and was only a little dry, but we actually ordered pork and they called after the order went through to tell us they were out. They have extremely wasteful packaging and bad food. Won’t be ordering Galanga again!

Today for on my lunch break I ordered Green Curry Lunch Special to go. Took it back to my office and after trying to get over the disappointment of the small portions(see desc. below) I noticed that THEREWAS A DEADCOOKEDBEEINMYCURRY!!! Are they kidding me???(I have pics). I didn’t notice until after I took a few bites. I was so disgusted that I completely lost my appetite. I didn’t have time to go back to the restaurant so I called to complain. They said they would deliver me another one(I work about a block away). Excuse me but HOWDO I KNOWYOUAREN’T SERVINGMEMOREOFTHECURRYSAUCETHATHAD A DEADBEEINIT!!! I should have just asked for a refund. Never again will I eat here, nor will I recommend this place. In fairness, it was the appropriate response for them to try to rectify the situation… but YUCK. My stomach has not stopped churning and I’m NOTEATING the 2nd one they brought me! SMALLPORTIONS: Curry came in a 6 – 8 ounce container of mostly veggies & curry juice & very little meat, a small portion of rice and small salad. Price: $ 7.58 with tax for this small meal. I Normally pay $ 7 – 8 for a large/regular portion at other Thai places.

Got their chicken pad thai and the portion was HUGE! It could definitely be shared with two people. Their pad thai is made with fresh ingredients, and tofu is included with the selection of chicken, shrimp, or beef. The only drawback I found was the sauce did not taste like authentic pad thai. It was a bit different and a bit bland in taste. My pad thai was $ 9.75 and I parked in the Pasadena Inn lot right next to the restaurant. It was quite empty at 6pm on a Tuesday night.

Went here after our original lunch choice was closing for there lunch hour. Walked in the place is clean and nicely decorated. Let me start by saying this is Thai fusion so if you like traditional Thai that it is not. My friend ordered the spicy tofu and I ordered the orange chicken as well as the steamed dumplings. The food was decent. I would recommend the dumplings however my friend felt her meal was just okay. The reason they get 3 Stars is because the customer service needs a little work. It started off good and then at one point we didn’t see anyone to help us at all. And this happened a few times. Overall okay. Plus: you can park at the hotel which in pasadena is a major plus.

My boyfriend and I decided on delivery around 7:45 pm on a Sunday night(yesterday actually) and ordered several dishes from this restaurant that I’ve been wanting to check out for a while. Everything was delicious and seasoned very well. We ordered the: Appetizer for 2(all the tasty fried things, can’t go wrong. the spicy mango sauce that comes with the summer roll is a must try) Spicy Basil Duck(not usually a fan of duck but it was seasoned well and not gamey like I think it tends to be, this was probably due to the thinner slices of meat. good flavor) Yum Woon Sen(just the right amount of acidity and fish sauce, again, I’m picky) Seafood Soup(savory and delicious broth, my boyfriend was a big fan) Large Thai Iced Tea(this was huge and filled up one pint glass 3 – 4 times) We were out of delivery range and almost ordered via GrubHub(which was going to total around 70 $). Instead we called and ordered directly from the restaurant and saved about 5 bucks after tip. Everything was still hot after about almost an hour wait, and packaged very well. They’ve got a great menu selection so next time we’re going to try their Panang Curry and Chili Lime Fish. :)

This place surprised me because it’s right next to a 3 star hotel. I ordered the tofu pad thai. The good news is that this pad Thai didn’t have any shellfish in it. Served extremely hot and had all the right ingredients to make me love it(veggies, fried tofu, and crushed peanuts). I didn’t dine in, but the place is pretty big and very clean. It’s a modernized Thai restaurant. They also have a nice wine rack in the front. The restroom is in the back, they give you a key to access it. Nice service for the few minutes I was there. Recommend! Also not to sound insensitive, but the name of this place is pretty weird? It would be nice to know what it stands for. Just don’t know if that’s the best marketing idea. I came in here based on the sign outside that said«Thai food lunch special«or something. Otherwise I would have no idea it was a Thai restaurant since its right off really a busy street next to a little hotel.

Love this place. Consistently good food, friendly service and reasonably priced. Dinner for 2 of wonton soup, kru kai noodles, and orange chicken with brown rice came out to $ 32. Not too shabby. Décor is modern and sleek. Street parking or you can park in the lot of the hotel right next door. Their noodles are always on point. I love the pad thai or the kru Kai. Sometimes Thai food can be a little overly oily, which is a big turn off. But not here, oil content is just right and everything tastes fresh. Another huge selling point is the soup comes out in a device with a lighter underneath, which keeps the soup warm the entire time… nothing worse than cold soup. Love this place! It’s a staple in our restaurant rotation.

I’m so happy my Co worker found this place ! It’s seriously so good, walking distance from my office, trendy, clean, and great lunch specials! I ended up getting the tofu pad Thai for $ 6.95. I was really torn between this and one of their other meals; which range between $ 8.95−9.95(shrimp items too). I’m so glad I went with the pad Thai. I typically get pad see ew because pad Thai is usually dry. Well I guess I’ve been eating at the wrong Thai places because this was so flavorful and delicious. I’m honestly excited to think about going back here and trying other options !

Unfortunately I can’t recommend this place as my mom and I got food poisoning from the Shrimp Tom Yum soup, even though we had ordered chicken… Walked in on a Sunday evening, and no one, not even the host, was in the restaurant. Probably a red flag to begin with, but my mom had heard from a friend that it was a solid spot, so we decided to give it a try. We searched in the back of house/kitchen area for the hostess, and she came out quickly to take our orders. No complaints at all about the service. Pros: –Intimate restaurant with a lot of seating –Service was good, food came out quickly –Price was very reasonable, $ 8.95 for a gigantic serving of pad thai –Garlic spinach was delicious –Parking was easy, street or hotel lot next door Cons: –Tom yum soup made my mom and I sick the rest of the night, and that was the only food we had shared –Food tasted kind of bland, pad thai was really unmemorable So the cons are few but the food and quality are what I look for in a good restaurant, so I won’t be returning :(

Galanga is where Lana Thai used to be. They just opened a few days ago and is currently having a soft opening. Dine-in special is 50% off during their soft opening except for their drinks. We walked in during an odd hour, 3:30ish so the place was empty. We had the option to sit wherever we want. The staff were friendly and nice. The menu selection was not too big so it’s not overwhelming. We settled on trying the following dishes: 1. Red Curry with beef — my favorite. A good kick after every bite. Meat was tender and the bell peppers were crunch, not overly done. Perfectly paired with white rice. 2. Ground pork with basil — spicy and salty. The basil was not overpowering. 3. Dangerous fish — one of their fusion dishes. Battered sole of fish with mushrooms and bell peppers and broccoli. Crispy but a little salty. I guess that’s why you have the broccoli, to even the taste. Good texture. 4. Almond banana rolls with vanilla ice cream — delicious! It actually have small sliced almonds with whipped cream! 5. Thai iced tea — should have gotten the XL. So good! My expectations were exceeded! Will definitely be back. Parking is street or the parking structure by the Rose Inn.
