Great Beer and Garlic Fries. Good food. Nice atmosphere and location. A lot of good places are closing…

This is the BEST restaurant ever!!! The goat cheese ravioli is decadent. The toasted pine nuts and the combination of melted butter really make this dish delicious. Highly recommended… It really is very good! WHATITCLOSEDWHATITCLOSED!!!

Absolutely outrageous restaurant! So I went to this restaurant last Saturday with a crowd of 12. Being a tolerant Unilocaler that I am, I rarely hateful of any restaurants because most of them have relatively decent food. Food wasn’t the problem. The Service was HORRENDOUS. The manager, to be specific! He was just Awful! If I can contact the owner, I would. Being the restaurant in the middle of old Pasadena in the heart of gorgeous romantic alley, it’s always going to be crowded with people wanting to fill their stomach and enjoy their weekends with lovers, family and friends. However just because the business is doing well does not give any excuses to treat their customers with horrible service. The hospitality of the restaurant was just outrageous. So this is what happened… my beloved 12 friends weren’t getting enough attention from any of the waiters. On top of that, one of the waiters spilled ice tea all over my friend. But he just walked away without noticing because he tipped the cup over while he was turning away. So we notified our main waiter. He quickly goes and grabs the manager… Here is the funny part. He comes by and asks«is everything alright?» my friend is trying to dry his clothes… and says yeah, it’s alright, can we get some napkins? Then he leaves. We get extra napkins… and that’s it… No plates, no utensils, and manager never comes back again. My poor friend who is completely soaked. Doesn’t even get any towels or apology… But worst of all, he doesn’t get the drink refilled nor plate to start eating. It’s not like my friend tipped the ice tea over… couldn’t believe what was going on. So I get up and ask for the manager so we can get some attention!(dude. at least get my friend a PLATE!!!) And here goes the manager saying«oh, but when I went to check up on you guys, you specifically said you were ALRIGHT» and that everything is OK. …(Ok… so that’s it? You never come back and check up on us again? To see if everything is taken care of? What kind of manager are you?) Seriously… this made me upset… So I told him, my friend is just really nice, that’s why he didn’t go crazy complaining up on your face! That doesn’t mean he’s fine! He’s SOAKED In sugary sticky ice tea! Urrgggg bad memories… Anyhow, I’m not a fan of franchise. in general… But man… Gordon Biersch is not some ghetto Mc Donald’s… they even included 18% gratuity… in the bill… The manager had time to flirt with the waitresses, but had no time to check up on us. Terrible service… That’s all I could say.

Good all-around American food, and AWESOME burgers. I LOVE the burgers here. They also offer good snack/appetizers like their wings and the salad. Also good beer selection. This place gets really packed on weekends and game nights(it’s like a nice sports bar) so it tends to get really noisy. Good place for hanging out with a group of people, not so much for a one on one date night. This is a place you leave feeling like a fatty. But it’s good. And that’s all that really matters.

I’m not huge on breweries since I don’t drink beer. However, we stumbled upon GB this weekend while walking in Old Town. I said, what the hell, let’s try something new. Walked in and got seated right away. Service was very friendly and prompt. No attitude and no drama. Food was fatty as hell. I guess my no meat diet is over with. Boo hoo. Ordered the potstickers for my daughter. She chowed them down and they were pretty damn tasty. I had half a bite since she was so into them. I ordered the pecan crusted chicken with mashed potatoes and veggies. It was crispy and good, kinda like fried chicken. The potatoes were heavenly and had chunks of skin in them. I like that, very authentic. Veggies were delicious too. He had the steak with veggies. To me, the steak was overdone, but I guess this isn’t Craft or Boa. Since this month is Oktoberfest, I wanted to try the 3 sausages dish. So, Ms. Piggy ordered that too. Hmmm. eh. I only liked one of the sausages, which was red and I dont know the name. The white sausage was gross and bleh. The big fat red sausauge was kinda burnt, so not as tasty as sausage #1. Anyways, this place is a good lunch spot, especially since you can walk off the 5000 calories you ingested by doing some shopping on Colorado Blvd. Lunch was $ 88 before tax and tip. Not cheap though!

I like how this place is tucked away down the alley. Its a whole different vibe. I went during some experimental exhibition where you wrote your wishes on little pieces of paper and attached them to the trees. It was dreamy. The place itself had fine service and beer. The food is simply ordinary. I had a salad, some fries, even some crabcakes. Nothing to brag about but does its job. Cool part is that they have their own beer and I think you can even order a flight to taste. I’ve been for lunch in the summer time and enjoyed the patio. Also have been there for dinner, its a fun place to hang out for drinks/dinner.

Great service! My company took me out for lunch and we left our to-go food. By the time we returned, they couldn’t find the food so they made me a new one on the spot without further question in 5 minutes!(it turned out that some of the other co-workers took the food) WOW to their service! Seeing that it only took them 5 minutes to grill the burger, it kinda makes u wonder what took our orders so long(45 min) to get ready tho. haha 5 stars for customer service re to-go –½ star for taking so long for the original dish –½ star for flavor(it’s not bad but it’s not worth the price)

Okay, just to start this off I only order some things on this menu and because I love these things so very VERY much… it makes me a fan. I probably would rate this at a five star if I tried everything else(including the beer that it is known for) and loved it as much. BUT… considering that I can only rate this on a few items, I don’t feel like it’s a fair assessment of the establishment. ON with the commentaries… LOVE the Ahi Tuna Salad. It’s the perfect combination of flavors that blend just like so on your taste buds. It’s by far my favorite Tuna Salad. For those who don’t eat raw fish or seared fish… ask for the tuna to be cooked through. It’s worthwhile to still try the salad that way, even though I myself have not. I think that the rest of the ingredients in the salad will still give the punch that makes it so darn great! Also take note to order those«YUMMY» GARLIC(yes! freshly chopped(not powered) garlic and cilantro???) FRIES. Ask for them to be well cooked so that the oil/garlic/cilantro doesn’t make the fries too soggy. Not for Bram Stoker’s Dracula, they put a decent amount of garlic on the fries… so bring some toothbrush and mouthwash if you HAVE to, but beware. Personally, I don’t mind the extra flavor… I just take a buddy who loves garlic just as much.

Pasadena location now closed =( **************** Yay! We just had another fab TGIF happy hour at this GB w/our good friends, Sam & Carlos, who both just came from a trip to Ecuador. We wanted to take advantage of the half-price appetizers so we were here promptly at 5 p.m. For drinks, my party ordered their usual blonde bock while I had Mai Tai. For appetizers, we had the usual tapas, garlic fries, and Southwest eggrolls, w/c were all so very scrumptious. This place gets noticeably packed by 6. When we left at 8:30ish, there was a dearth of empty tables; so come early like we did if you plan on spending your early Friday evening here. This GB truly is a great place to rendezvous w/friends.

The service was good-the beer was not too bad. The blue cheese burger was still not as good as chilies. We were in and out in a heartbeat. I sort of don’t like old town eatery’s. I wasn’t feeling it here and neither was JP.

I trekked down to the Southland and visited a friend in Pasadena before wandering out to Old Town to try to find a place to go that had a less than 30 minute wait on a Saturday night. A challenge, but Gordon Biersch got us seated in about 20 minutes, most of which was spent browsing Crate and Barrel. The food was good, and not horribly overpriced. The plaza location makes for good outdoor seating. The staff was friendly and efficient.

This place definitely makes you feel like you are at a brewery – especially if you get talked into the beer sampler, which is worth every penny. This way you can try all of their flavors, in pretty big sample sizes actually and figure out which one you actually like. For me, it was there beer that had a hint of banana in it but my boyfriend preferred the darker ones gordon biersch had to offer. The waiter we had was awesome and he knew something about every beer they had which is how it should be. And their food is pretty tasty – try the fire roasted chicken and fettuccine tossed with sun-dried tomatoes!!! But we all know you go here for the beer, and on new year’s they give you unlimited champagne too!

It’s OK. We actually went for the Happy Hour appetizers. But why? I hate fried food, especially after the Lucky Bladwins experience earlier this week. Everything is so fattening– full of sauces and covered in dips and fried. I did not try any of the beers, but they did look good. This is your typical«box Store» style restaurant. Plenty of fried, saucy foods… each dish must be at least 2,000 calories. Service was good. Location is great, I love One Colorado. But I grow tired of box store restaurants very quickly.

I’ll be anyone’s friend that remembers when this place used to be «Virtual World». Virtual World was it in the 90s, we thought it was the coolest thing ever! Ok anyways, back to the chain restaurant/brewery that it is… their hefs are good and their appetizers are pretty banging. I like the artichoke dip and the fried calamari rings…

Seriously unimpressive. Go for the garlic fries and tolerate the so-so beer. Skip the rest. Consider taking the creepy trip through the bowels of the building to find the bathroom, it’s kind of like finding a warp zone in Super Mario Bros– it’s very strange. Only thing is, once you get there, instead of finding pipes that take you to other levels, you’ll find pipes that contain a wholly different kind of surprise! Have fun!

I had a horrible expierience with them over the weekend. First of all, it was nearly empty, and yet they would not seat our large party. They said we had to wait until half or more of our party arrived… 5 minutes later, we were almost full party… yet still no movement, no action. We talked to the hostess many times, and they did nothing. Empty tables were in sight, yet still… NOTHING. Gosh. i hate them… I’ve eatten here many times, and the Gordon Biersch garlic fries at the Doger games are way better. The one served at this restaurant are not so special. To me, I think the place smells a little funny, like old spilled beer. The food, is ok, I feel like get more bang for my buck at Mc Donalds. I’d skip this place.

I can’t rate this place since I only went here for a drink and it was quick. But for what it’s worth, SO got the DUNKLE beer and he said it was good. I had a Maitai which was pretty weak to me, but then again, to someone else could be their 1 hitter quitter drink. When I went there, there was a Dodgers/Cubs(?) game going on and it was intense. An older crowd occupied the entire bar. Weirdest thing ever was that bathrooms were outside. Huh?

I am giving this place three stars for friendly service and a great atmosphere. This is a good place to sit and chat with your friends. The food on the other hand was little bleh. Maybe I didn’t order the right dishes from the menu, but I was not even a little impress with anything of the food that my friends and I ordered. The beef from my bistro eggs benedict was almost well done when I specifically told the waitress I wanted medium. The potatoes on the side tasted like it came out of the frozen section at the local market and I can barely chew on the English muffin that was layered under the poached egg and beef. They also drenched our glazed chicken wings in a sea of sweet chili and ginger sauce. The artichoke on our chicken and artichoke pizza tasted like dried bamboo. I’m not much of a drinker so I didn’t order any beer. I hope it’s good, because the food is not.

The Garlice fries is the best at this place. I came here for different occasions in the past. occasion #1: bar hopping, and we got here. I was confuse about which beer i want, so the waitress gave us some samples. 6 different kinds of beer to try(woo hoo!!), and i was good after testing all of them. j/k! The waitress gave us three light and three dark to taste. The light beer is my favor. occasion #2: dinner. The food wasn’t the best cuz afterall they are breweries. I actually ordered a salad, and i ate less than half. I thought to myself«i will come only for the beer next time» occasion #3: happy hour! yay!!! it’s was a blast. We sat at their patio, and had some beer tester again. =) Conclusion: it’s good to come here to grap a beer and garlic fries… not for the food.

The garlic fries are enough said. The only other g-fries that beat this place was up in Napa Valley at this majorly popular burger joint. Christy’s roadside grill or something of that sort. It’s near Dean & Deluca. But yeah, otherwise, Gordon Biersch Garlic Fries. edit: I went back to Gordon Biersch. Garlic Fries… AIiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiite. I think I was a garlic fry virgin when I had it at this place. But yeah, I’ve had better when I re-evaluated the fries today. But this time I got some food. Bone-in Rib Eye in Gorgonzola Sauce — Gooood. 8.5 because it was delish, but a bit too fatty. Spicy shrimp with vegetables and rice– Dunno what I was thinking to order an Asian dish at a brewery type place but I was craving rice. It was a 7. I swear, I think it was frozen stuff that they defrosted. Service unfortunately sucked because our waiter never came to check on us for water, or to give us the check, or to pick up the check. No, we didn’t freeload, but I swear we coulda gotten away with it cuz the waiter was THAT horrible.
