It’s like walking into a time machine. The décor is a throwback to the 80’s with Three’s Company on the boob tube. Pops took our order while his wife slaved away in the kitchen. He told us the food was going to take awhile, so he offered lentil soup to hold us over. The soup was good, but it would it would have been great if it was less salty. Our meal was fantastic and the wife gave us dessert on the house. It want to give this place a four, but the wait for food was really long and we weren’t offered anything to drink.

Ummmm. No, for me, but maybe so-so for you. Grew up with Armenians(mostly Beirutsi) my whole life. Close friends since elementary school were Armenian. I’ve have eaten good homemade lule kebab, shish kebab, grilled chicken, chee kufta, suni kufta, sarma, and so on. This place is just so so. My Armenian friends have taught me what’s good to eat, how to properly eat it, and where to eat. They don’t recommend this place. in fact, I tried it before they did and didn’t recommend it to them. They tried it and agreed with me. This is how well they taught me. Better quality can be found in other places. Ordered tahn once, and was told they could make it fresh. I ordered it, waited about eight to ten minutes, but it was no where near the ones one can buy in the markets and not even close to the cold, refreshing, slightly salty tahn my friend’s mom makes. Danny C. hit it on the nose: cheap, but a long wait. Quality: Eh, just okay. For the price, I say you try it; what do you have to loose? I’m glad the other Unilocalers have enjoyed this place, but I hope they try other places. It’s like asking a suburbanite that only eats meatloaf and other traditional American fare to try fake/Americanized Asian food or Americanized(Tex-Mex) Mexican food and so forth; I’m very sure they’ll like it, but it’s not the real deal, or it’s like when you like a Mexican place, for example, but your Mexican friends think the place sucks. This is how I feel about this place. With practice, these Unilocalers’ pallet will extend past Lousin’s; Lousin’s Arakadz has opened the door to Lebanese style food made by Beirutsi.

Definitely a hole in the wall. Ran by a sweet and nice Armenian couple with a sense of humor. Great bang for you buck. Cheap food(plates are around 8 – 10 bucks and sandwiches are about 5 bucks) and cute décor.(I think the paintings on the wall are made by them.) Only downside I can think of is that it takes a while to get your food after you have placed your order in. This is probably due to a one woman chef with no help. The wife pretty much cooks everything. Or so it seems since we were the only people in there. I recommend you guys ordering in and picking up. Tabouli salad– not as lemony as I’ve had it before, but I really loved it. Chicken kabob– so bomb and flavorful. Really healthy too! Hummus– yum. Beef shawarma– not a big fan of their shawarma considering there is too much flavor going on. Homely and quaint restaurant. Good food with good people for a good price! Can’t beat that!

One Word to describe Lousin’s: Dive Pros: –Cheap Mediterranean food(plates are between $ 7 – 8, sandwiches are $ 4 – 5) –Friendly service, ran by a lovely middle aged couple –Meat were flavorful as were the accompany sides. –Fairly big portions, we left stuffed! Cons: –Slow service, due to the fact it could be an one woman show taking orders and cooking. Expect a wait of 20−30mins –As mentioned earlier, it’s a dive, hole in the wall, don’t expect a fancy place. To conclude, I personally enjoyed the lunch, as it’s very similar from eating at someone’s house with cartoon on the tube and the owner’s friend dropping by during the course of our meal. It’s hidden off Allen/Walnut area, but I’d definitely recommend it if you’re in the area!

A family-run hole-in-the-wall right by the 210 in Pasadena. This place is cheap — shawarma sandwiches are $ 3.99-$ 4.99 while plates with pita and pilaf are $ 6.99-$ 7.99. A good place to get a cheap lunch. The food is pretty good, too. We had the shawarma and lamb shish kebob which were both flavorful and tender. They also had a variety of more unique Arakadz dishes and some American food at the same time. Seems like we were the only customers there though. The only downside is that the service is rather slow since you really only have one person(the wife) holding the kitchen down.
