Don’t have any strong feelings about S&F. It’s one of those places that just… is. I’ve probably been to this location twice, usually to pick up supplies for holiday work parties & the like. I suppose I could get my wares at Costco, but it’s always such a production to go there and try to avoid it like the Plague. My gripe is twofold: 1) Solicitors at the store entrance asking me for donations… errrr! I’m all for donating to worthy causes but honestly, I’m already here spending $ 30 on party supplies for coworkers I don’t even talk to. Soliciting is perfectly fine, but it’s more logical to do it in front of a place where people are spending $ on «fun» things(i.e. going to the movies, Starbucks) rather then when they are staggering out/in after spending/on the way to spend $ out of necessity. 2)Survival of the fittest mentality. Look people. Come-the-f***-on. If you have 75 bulk items, don’t be a douche bag and wait in the 10 items or less line, ignoring the fact I’m behind you with my 2 measly items. And S&F, open more registers! With lines so long, you’d think we were in line to see the Pope or something. ;)

We go to this place instead of Costco. You get everything you need for reasonable prices, but the good thing is that you don’t buy stuff that you don’t need as it always happened when we went to Costco. It’s not as crowded and easy to get to, it’s on the way between our house and work, we don’t have to drive so far anymore. The biggest advantage? You don’t need an expensive membership and they take all credit cards, not only Amex!

The first thing I noticed at this Smart & Final was all the plastic water and Gatorade bottles outside in the front of the store in the blaring heat. I’m not sure if I’m being panicky but I really thought the chemical breakdown in the plastic with extreme heat conditions can be hazardous to ones health. More on that later. We were doing shopping for an ice cream social at work. While perusing the aisles I nearly fell because one of the employees spilled what looked like sugar on the floor and didn’t even bother to warn me. Even when he saw me look at the floor he not once acknowledged anything and kept restalking/arranging items. It wasn’t for like another five to ten minutes that he even bothered to sweep up the slippery powder. Not good. Next, we found the bowls we wanted but needed another pack. I went to a different item stalker. When I asked him for help he looked bothered that I needed mor
