The Braid Affair

So I went to this shop for a last minute appt, and Iesha and Merium obliged. I was so grateful because not only did they squeeze me in, they were great company. They are fairly priced, quick, and hard working ladies. I would definitely recommend this spot for any of your braiding needs.

Miriam did a great job on my hair. Very quick, professional and personable. I’ve gotten lots of compliments on my twists.

I needed a quick in & out last minute appointment & I was accommodated! I got there a few minutes early & I was greeted with a smile, a seat, & some magazines to read! A few minutes later, Mryiam arrived & provided a quick consultation (which provided pics of styles done at their shop, length, hair texture, style recommendation, & price). After that, she got right to braiding my kinky twists! About 4 hours later, she was done & I couldn’t be happier! Pics coming soon…

Thank you thank you thank you Myriam! I love my cornrows. I called and was able to get a same day appt. and when I arrived there was no wait. I was promptly seated and my hair was started. Both Iesha and Myriam are very pleasant ladies who made me feel welcomed and comfortable. It felt like home as we watched televison and chatted while Myriam braided my hair. I am very pleased with my first experience and I love my hair. I would definitely recommend The Braid Affair!

I took my daughter in for a consultation for individual braids then booked an appointment the following week. I did have to leave a deposit but that’s ok with me. My daughter previously had her hair braided by someone else and looked horrific! Myriam at The Braid Affair braided her hair and did a fantastic job! In by 9:00 am done by 1:36pm. Iisha is very professional and said that if there are any concerns to bring them to her. I strongly recommend this place! Very pleased! My daughter looks BEAUTIFUL!

I was looking for a braider who was efficient, neat, and professional… I received all of that and more from Ilesha! The Braid Affair is well kept up and provides good conversation, not to mention great prices. I highly recommend this salon because this salon is indeed my new braid shop!!!

I had THE best experience at The Braid Affair! Aeisha did an amazing Job on my box individual braids! She was so fast! Also Marium, the other stylist there was doing some twists on another client while k was there and she moved super fast as well! Our hair came out so beautiful! I called all around and am glad I didn’t make another choice. Pricing is wonderful and she is professional. But you will feel right at home as she is so positive and welcoming. I felt like I was home. I will not be going anywhere else for my hair, you can believe that! #SuperProud #VerySatisfied

I was looking to get Senegalese twist and since I’m not originally from Southern CA, I really didn’t have any shops in mind. I called a few places near Leimert Park, Inglewood, and Westchester. They were either booked or unreasonably expensive (that’s if they answered at all!). I checked Unilocal while in the Pasadena area and came across this Great shop. I went in for a consultation with Aiesha and they were able to get me in that week! Marian did an outstanding job and it only took four hours (though my twist are a little larger… but exactly how I wanted them). The shop was extremely professional which was important for me. I highly recommend them and will be back soon.

This is a great place to get your braids done at an affordable price. Miriam braids my hair and she has always done an amazing job! I’m very tender headed, and had stopped getting my hair braided because I couldn’t sit through the pain of braids. Not the case with Miriam. I was so happy to find her. She’s very gentle and your braids are still secure and pretty when she’s done. Give this business a try, you will not be disappointed!

This was the first time I went to a shop to get my braided and Iiesha is so nice, felt like I knew her for a long time and it was only my first time. Everyone was talking with everyone and it was very comfortable and the time flew by. I love my braids by Iiesha and surprising it took less than 6 hours for my individuals and I’m used to sitting for more than 8 hours with other people. I found my braid specialist and suggest who ever is looking to get their hair braided, to go there. Oh, and the prices are not that bad too.

feel pretty when I leave her Salon. I have been going to her since I was 18 and I am
over 50 now, but you know what? I still feel as cute as I did when I was in my 30’s thanks to Iesha !
It’s unfortunate that some «reviewers «have treated Unilocal like a
bathroom wall. But the Girls in this Salon treat you like Queen every time !

the customer service SUCKS! the lady had such a stank attitude on the phone I almost could smell her VAG thru the receiver. summers eve that miss lady, u will be aight! I can’t even say anything about this place because her ghetto ass turned me off

Miriam hooked it up! We watched Lifetime Network movies all day, joked around and ate candy. It was a fun time and she did a great job on my hair :)

I have been to see Iesha several times and she always does a wonderful job. As someone who has had their hair braided on and off since the age of 5, I have had a lot of experience sitting in a braider’s chair. They have a professional environment and it is always a great experience. I have not had my hair braided by Marion, but from what I have seen, she does a great job too.

It had been about 5 years since I have had braids and I was ready to change it and take a break from the weaves. I live in San Jose and have not had much luck finding a good stylist and I am very particular about my braids.
My experience with The Braid Affair was fantastic! I was in town temporarily for work and they were able to accommodate me at the last minute with no issues. Both ladies were very professional and made me feel very comfortable. I was initially interested in the Senegalese Twists and I appreciated their honesty informing me that they may not hold well with my hair type and recommended I get individuals instead. My braids turned out great, were super neat without being too tight. When I am in the area again and have the time, I will definitely make an appointment!

I went in to get my hair braided today by Iesha. We discussed what I wanted and I was looking forwarded to getting my hair done, because I have wanted the kinky twists for a long time. We started at 8:30 am and she was done by 3:00 pm. They aren’t too tight and they came out very nice.

I cannot go ANYWHERE without getting a compliment on how good my hair looks or a queston of where I got them done. This place is Heaven Sent.
Easily accessible using LA Metro lines. Accepts credit cards. She conveniently provides packs of hair for a low price if needed. Prices are so reasonable and Ieasha works FAST. My Senegalese twists are so lovely and I highly recommend her to all!

So I recently moved to Pasadena (about a year ago) and as all ladies know it’s an arduous process finding a trustworthy and talented hair lady. For me in particular it take lots of research and mostly recommendations. Since I didn’t know anyone in the Pasadena area who cld have directed me to a shop specializing in Afro hair I depended on Unilocal.This place had fairly good reviews and it was CLOSE (walking distant) to my apartment so I felt like I could form a relationship with this hair shop.
I am going natural (way of saying I wont over-​straighten or perm my hair) so I was looking for a transitioning style (A method for returning to a natural hair texture from a chemically straightened one or heat damage. Over a period of weeks or months, the ends of the hair will be cut away as the new growth appears. While the transitioning process will require the wearer to find various styles that work with both textures (the heat damaged and the natural), it’s generally considered a less dramatic option in returning to natural hair than chopping it all off) and braids are a PERFECT transitioning style!
My initial visit: I dropped by and met with Iesha and told her my concerns and what I wanted. I wanted chunky twist similar to Senegalese twist. I had pictures of what I wanted and she said she could do it. The process took about 5 – 6 hours but the results were more than amazing! This was my first time with braids and I was in LOVE. Since they were chunky it was easy to take out plus there was minimal damage to my hair. I LOvED it!
My 2^nd visit: I met with Courtney and she was just as amazing as Iesha. She was funny and sweet and made the 7 hours fly by. The second time I got chunky braids (similar to Janet Jackson in Poetic Justice) and I loved them just as much. I waited about 4 months before getting these braids to give my hair a break but I know I will keep coming back to this place to get my braids.
Iesha is friendly and very attentive she listens to your concerns and what you want and delivers the best results. Courtney great. She know how to adapt to what the client wants and is entertaining at the same time. Both ladies are amazing so I have cultivated a relationship with both. HIGHLY RECOMMEND !

After my NOLA hair do, I found that the hairstyle is very convenient for a woman waking up at 5:30, had having to be at work by 7am, 35 miles away. Thanks to Unilocal,I believe I have found a braider long term
I sent an e-​mail from their website and Iesha answered and we set up a consult. She was very professional and gave me some good advice.
The braid style I was looking for required added hair, so she told me which to get and gave me the option to buy it from her or buy my own and bring it in.
I got an appointment 2 days later and it took only 2.5 hours to get my hair done. She was fast and professional.
She is on top of it with the technology and uses her iphone as her credit card machine. I was really impressed!
