Bottleneck 101: Do not put a large table in the middle of your main entrance /walkway

Had a craving for their bolognese and kale salad but to my surprise, the doors are locked and the menu has been taken off their outside menu display. The chairs and tables are still inside but nothing else. This place was pretty good but apparently couldn’t get enough traffic to keep their doors open. You’ll be missed!

No surprise this place is shutting down on 2÷1÷15. Any time a restaurant has to keep changing the menu, offer deals and specials and happy hours… it’s probably not doing well. I visited this place when it first opened — the waiters were pompous, the hostesses snooty and the manager was going around asking people not to write bad reviews on the place. The food was bland and unmemorable enough to not return. For awhile the place was always packed cuz who doesn’t love a new spot in Pasadena? But the current clientele(65yo +), empty dining rooms and the chalkboard sign of specials outside echo the decline in interest due to inconsistent and lousy food and service. This spot won’t be missed.

The food here is fantastic! I’m Italian and so I can be picky when it comes to Italian food. The pizza here is so good it will make your Italian grandma ask for tips! The service was pretty crappy, but my friend had been there before and said she had excellent service. Given the cost, I think the service was pretty bad. At one point I had to finally get up and get my friend a fork because her pasta was served and now getting cold while our server was nowhere to be found. The greater was also half asleep and clearly couldn’t hate her job anymore, so that was less than welcoming. Also, I entered through the back and the expediter/manager was a complete jerk!!! Fortunately the food salvaged things, but they definitely need to work on their service – especially because the food is on point!!! Subsequent visits: I love the food here! Super authentic and service is great! I recommend reservations Friday and Saturday nights, but otherwise you can typically get in without an unreasonable wait. The pizza is the best around! I also highly recommend the meatballs Marsala. They are a must! The specialty drinks are also great! I’m a regular and have yet to have a bad meal!

We came here this evening for a family meal. We were told it would be a 20 min wait. No problem! Then we were told we’d have to wait outside because they don’t have a waiting area. My wife explained it was cold outside!!! No we’ll wait inside. There was an empty table that we couldn’t sit at… apparently! 20 mins later we were taken to the… empty table! WTF! We couldn’t have sat at that 20 mins earlier. Pushed and shoved and made to feel bad for wanting to eat at this restaurant. If there are empty tables please let the patrons sit at them rather than standing in everyone’s way or freezing your butt off outside.

This restaurant is nicely tucked away in the plaza on Lake and Del Mar. My cousins planned a nice pre-new year white elephant party here on the private room upstairs. The staff were friendly and the the restaurant was very nicely maintained and decorated for Christmas! We had our baby with us and used the elevator to get upstairs and join our party. I ordered the hanger steak with Madeira mushroom sauce and french fries. It was made perfect and every bite tasted better than the last. I almost wanted to slow down so it wouldn’t finish! We ordered calamari, clams, this apple/beet salad as appetizers and some good beers. I enjoyed the restaurant and for all that food, the price was just right! I would return here again. They would have gotten a 5th star but they were just too slow getting up there each time. Tons of free parking in the back!

From the ambience to the Décor, this place is peaceful and tranquil as a restaurant should be. The food was perfectly prepared and presented as you will see in the pictures I posted. This has to be one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been to. My wife had the chicken pesto pizza and I had the prosciutto pizza with shaved Parmesan and arugula on the top and don’t let me forget the salumi platter for the appetizer. I highly recommend this restaurant to anybody that wants good Italian food!

I am a realtor and I won a gift card to this place, so I thought I would check it out. The food was all delicious! I had the crab appetizer and the pasta pomodoro with Italian sausage. I would definitely come back again! Preferably with a pretty girl. Kinda a bummer eating alone :) Love the ambiance. Really romantic and I love the high ceilings. The bar also has a good selection of whiskey. Most bars have 3 choices, this place has a couple more — most of them happen to be the ones that I like. Since I was here for lunch, I just sat at the bar and watched some nba action while I waited for my lunch. The staff was super friendly and good looking. The bartender recommended the pasta pomodoro. Be sure to add the Italian sausage, it adds a nice small kick to the plate. The bread was good and I thought it would have been even better warm, but I heard it would dry it out. Nevertheless, the bread was good. I like it better than MI piace. I also had this crab appetizer. Hard to describe but it was gone in less than 60 seconds! It melted in my mouth. I could have gone to town with those things but I knew I would be comatose after. The trailer for my lunch was this rum. It’s vanilla with cinnamon and nutmeg. I really should not have been drinking during the workday, but it was awesome. I am in a happy place as I write this review :) Though I have always been loyal to MI piace and union, I have never been a fan of the long lines at MI piace. Union is great and the place is quaint but for $ 100 you will be barely satiated. The food here is solid, with a great ambiance and easy parking in the back. I would highly recommend bringing a date here to get your mack on. I am sure you will get lucky :)

My wife and I have been fans of Neapolis ever since it opened. We frequent the restaurant on a near monthly basis. But, I’m sad to say that since their new chef came in a few months ago, it’s gone sharply downhill. Before I get into the food situation, I would like to point out that their bar is still fantastic. In fact, I would say that their cocktails and bartenders are better than ever. Great place to get a hand crafted cocktail or beer or nice glass of Italian wine. But the food… I’ll start with the appetizers. Until recently they offered a cheese plate that was literally the reason we came in so often. Unique, ever rotating, delicious cheeses served with the perfect accompaniments. One of the best cheese plates I’ve had anywhere, and I’ve had a lot. It paired perfectly with their separate charcuterie board, which they do still offer, but that has been reduced to half the portion of the previous version and features much lower quality meats and dumbed down parings. When we asked the manager about the cheese plate, he told us they could probably still put one together, and they did. The cheese was low quality, it was stale, and the three portions of cheese were literally about the size of a grape. But they still charged us for a «meat & cheese» board. Not good. The dinner bread… They used to serve an amazing focaccia that they swapped out for a very ho hum italian type bread that now barely sets them apart from Olive Garden’s endless breadsticks. The pizza… This is arguably what they’re best known for. They have a huge oven that they shipped from Italy that does still put out a great crust. But the quality and inventiveness of the toppings has diminished. Their pizza list is shorter than ever and filled with several run of the mill offerings. I ordered their pepperoni that used to come topped with high quality meat, unique olives, and lots of fresh basil. Now it comes out with Pizza Hut quality pepperoni, sliced black olives from a can, and 4 little shriveled leaves of basil. The pasta… My wife almost always orders the same thing — their(previously) amazing Bolognese. It’s not your typical Bolognese. It’s made with a short rib sauce. In the past it was served with lots of tender meat. The pasta was cooked perfectly. The sauce was wonderfully balanced. Unfortunately now there’s half the meat and it’s fairly tough. The sauce is pedestrian with too much sweetness. And the pasta is cooked so al dente that it practically crunches in your mouth. They’re now featuring more items from their wood burning grill. Steaks, chops, chicken, & fish. I saw a New York pass by and it did look pretty good. But I’m a little skeptical of any menu that states«Select a meat — Then select a sauce». What is this, The Black Angus? And besides that’s not what I come in for. It’s nice to have a steak, chop, and fish selection, but I’m here for the pizza and pasta and high quality imported meats and cheeses. I feel like they’ve dumbed down their menu a bit to appeal to a less discerning customer. And maybe that’s a good move for the type of clientele they get in that part of town. But it’s not working for us anymore. We’ll try again in a few months to see if they’ve reverted back to their former glory, and if so I’d be delighted to upgrade my rating and review. But for now, sadly, Neapolis is off our radar…

So it’s weird to go into a place in Pasadena where it’s almost completely empty for lunch. I should have known better. The décor was great but the food wasn’t great. I had the pizza and it was good fired with a char. It wasn’t bad, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t know if I would go back for this place. I would go back if someone else chose it but I can’t say it stands out in a crowd of many many restaurants in Pasadena and in LA as a whole.

Talked about trying this place since its beginnings and finally just ducked in for brunch with my wife. I can’t say enough about the gorgeous elegant interior, lots of luscious dark wood, brass and marble accents, and the lighting is warm and subdued. The high ceilings stretches the your gaze upward, particularly at the bar and in the atrium lit garden room in the front. I’m surprised by how much room there is with a second floor balcony and dining room. Btw, the restrooms are upstairs accessible from the staircase in the middle of the restaurant. The railings have a Turkish looking touch, monastic as one reviewer says as I gazed over the front half of the restaurant from above… The Roasted Beet Salad was a bit of a hodgepodge of ingredients that came together to form a refreshing salad. Julienned fall apples were wonderfully bright and crispy, offset from the orange segments stained from the juice of the beets and the sherry vinaigrette. Walnuts for nutty crunch and goat cheese crumble were present to round it all out… The Shrimp and Grits had a beautiful presentation, plating was clean, deliberate, thoughtful. The number of shrimp was particularly generous, and decently sized as well. Not surprisingly for the restaurant, polenta is used although the moniker of the dish states otherwise. More refined, but no less comforting than a nice warm bowl of mush, the polenta had a slightly gritty texture, but a warm, rich, and creamy profile. The kale was nicely sauteed and wilted. I don’t know if they used pancetta in place of bacon, but there were definitely lardon present. rendered in order to impart a smokiness flavor to the surrounding elements. I don’t know if it was entirely because of the bacon, but In any case the entire dish was noticeably salty. There seems to a pattern of sodium heavy-handedness in the kitchen since many reviewers have also mentioned this in their dishes. The presence of the perfectly done poached egg on top helped to mitigate this but overall, it was hard to ignore… I thought the Neapolitan pizza was authentically done, there’s an elegance in its well done simplicity. The San Marzano tomato sauce is essential, the fresh mozzarella melts smoothly in spots and look like wispy clouds, and the fresh basil is sliced chiffonade and the stems removed. I couldn’t help but notice the marvelous standalone pizza oven as we walked through the restaurant that is responsible for the blistery pillowy outer crust… More than enough food for the two of us, our water glasses were never half empty because of the attentive and polite service we received all around. Quite a nice ambiance for a date, my only reservation was the saltiness of the food, although the salad and the pizza were fine. The three and a half rating seems fair…

Come for happy hour… to enjoy the atmosphere… but don’t anticipate much for the food. AMBIENCE: 5 stars I arrived a bit too early for my dinner date and so I sat down for some happy hour and made friends with two of the very dapper dans clad in waist coats and suspenders behind the bar. They poured me some vino and I marveled at the ingenuity of the interior layout and the charming vibe this restaurant had to offer. It reminded me of a classic Parisian café during the WWII era. I swirled my cab in dreamlike state as I fantasized that there was a gramophone playing in the background. Peak of romance. And I wondered to myself why I had only discovered this place now. This was it– my new favorite place. THEN… the food. Dun dun dun. FOOD: 1 star I’m not sure how to begin expressing my disappointment with the food at this establishment. Our server brought us some complimentary bruschetta with … stuff. topping it and it was acidic and horrible. They offered us warm bread– twice. yes, they used the word«warm» and both times the bread was not only cold, but just tasted awful. What we ordered: Fried Calamari: it was not hot. but just warm. The batter was thin but crispy– light in color. and it had almost NO flavor. NONE. It was pretty bad. Probably the worst of its sort I’ve ever tried. Arancini: 3 crispy lobster balls– These came out seriously like 25 minutes after the first appetizer and it was cold. The guy who brought it out came out was holding a plate with 2 arancini and politely apologized, saying one had accidentally been dropped and that they’d bring us a new order. It was terribly nice of them because we ended up getting 5, but we nonetheless did not finish them because. even the second set was cold– and it was a mushy mess. Pasta– Mare, tagliatelle with seafood– omg, I’ve never had such a horrible hand-made pasta in my life. This was al dente gone in a direction I’ve never seen it go before. NO elasticity whatever. The pasta crumbled in our mouths the way a gluten-free cookies does… Pizza– House made Italian Sausage with wild mushrooms: The pizza might have been the only redeeming thing. It tasted decent, and like a proper Italian pizza. The only problem was that all the toppings and cheese were melting and gathering toward the center of the pan. And even had the toppings be evenly distributed on the pie, it was the most meager little handful of toppings I’ve ever seen on a pizza. Oh well, at least it was hot. SERVICE: I’m not sure how I would rate the service here because every staffer was amazingly pleasant and quick on their feet, not to mention handsomely dressed. The FOODHOWEVER… took foreverrrrrrrr. I kid not, each dish came 20 – 30 minutes after the last. Perhaps we got unlucky this day. I sure hope that’s the case. Overall I can’t express how disenchanting the food made the whole experience, particularly for its price. I had so much fun sitting at the bar earlier in the night that it breaks my heart to give this place a bad review, but really… One would think that it’s pretty enough inside to make the food easier to swallow– but no… it really did taste just that bad.

Food: 3 stars Atmosphere: 5 stars Service: 4 stars Cleanliness: 5 stars I brought my wife here for her birthday and was very pleased. The hostess was very pleasant and had a great attitude both on the phone and in person. When I told her it was my wife’s birthday she was very responsive. Our waiter was a little awkward. He did not introduce himself and brought us the wrong(and more expensive) bottle of wine, however he was quiet attentive to our water glasses and was very helpful with explaining the menu. He also brought my wife a dessert that had«Happy Birthday» written in chocolate without me asking him to, so bonus points there. The atmosphere is fantastic. The architects did an excellent job designing this place! It’s all about the details. It comes across as a trattoria, but with a very romantic accent to it. A lot of the details look antiquated with a nice polish and the hardwood and tile floors are beautiful. The balcony was also a nice surprise, making the ascension to the bathroom quiet memorable and picturesque. I wish they had a patio… The food was decent. I had the spaghetti carbonara which was good, but extremely rich. It overpowered my wine and became kind distracting after a while. The prosciutto on top, however, was worth returning for! My wife had a seafood pasta dish that I can’t remember the name of, but she did not like the squid, claiming that it was too rubbery. When I tried it I noticed it was a but fishy tasting… not my favorite kind of taste, but overall she liked it. Frankly, the food was decent; I think it was crafted with an attention to detail, but prepared a bit hastily… Regardless, I’m looking forward to returning and exploring the menu. Hopefully next time the food will have a little more love attached to it.

We’d just finished seeing The Trip to Italy at the Leammle and in my normal fashion I used it as an excuse to eat ;) I wanted Italian, but we were in Pasadena so some of the places I would have wanted to go weren’t at our fingertips. My boyfriend suggested Trattoria Neapolis because we’ve walked by here so many times and glanced over the menus outside a time or two. We called around 415P to get a 530P reservation when they would be serving their full dinner menu. Upon arrival the restaurant which is definitely more of a Ristorante than a Trattoria was pretty quiet, we walked in through their back door and were able to take in the entire place. Good looking spot! We then opted to sit in their front dining space, the garden room which is really inviting during the daytime. By the time we left, the indoor dining space was abuzz and definitely an equally inviting space to dine. I started with their Chianti and he had their house red. If choosing again between the two I’d stick with the Chianti. We shared the House Pork Meatballs, which were delish! The pork balls themselves weren’t that impressive but the San Marzano Tomato Sauce was fantastic! I really could have just spooned up a small bowl of the sauce alone. Next we had their Caprese Salad, which was very nicely done. The burrata was the perfect amount of creamy. I ordered the Pomodoro(Spaghettini, San Marzano Tomato Sauce, Grana Padano Cheese, Fresh Basil) and Added the House Made Italian Sausage. Yowsa!!! This dish was pretty ridic. I don’t normally like sausage but something about House Made Italian called out to me and boy did it not disappoint. My boyfriend even suggested they give the person who is making their sausage a raise. It’s really that good! It was the perfect addition to the already scrumptious, fresh Spaghettini. On it’s own this dish is simple yet rewarding to your taste buds, adding the sausage just takes it to that next level. My boyfriend ordered the Bolognese(Rigatoni Pasta, Short Rib Bolognese, Pancetta, Grana Padano Cheese), which most folks rave about in the reviews for this place. I don’t eat a lot of red meat and I’m not a fan of tube noodles so I skipped on this dish but did taste a couple bites of it. It was tasty but too much short rib for me. He liked it but proclaimed I’d won the dinner entrée selection. We ordered the Gelato & Cookie Plate for dessert. All three selections of gelati were wonderful. Vanilla(you were able to spot the vanilla bean, yumm!), Strawberry(a bit icier than the other two but very tasty) and Chocolate(which was neck to neck with the Vanilla for first place and probably won). The Italian house baked cookies paired nicely with the gelati. What did strike me as a bit odd was the hard to Not notice music selection, ranging from a good amount of 50’s(ummm we’re not at a diner) then going into random 90’s tunes. It’s definitely comfortable for families and brings a level of comfort over the place but something more along the lines of classy Italian tunes over dinner would have really made the experience different, in a positive way. Service was fine, and once we ordered, our dishes were brought to the table one course after the other in a very timely manner. Overall Trattoria Neapolis is a solid choice for Italian in this area. A great place for families, friends or even a casual date. The menu is large in size(only noticeable lacking a ravioli selection) and they appear to have dinner promotions at least five nights a week, including a HH and other special events. I’m definitely looking forward to returning to try one of their specialty cocktails and another item on their menu that includes their delicious house made sausage.

Neapolis is the ancient Greek name for present-day Napoli or Naples in English. The Greeks colonized much of southern Italy & Sicily about 700bce. Nea = new Polis = city. At this time the Romans were still a rather primitive society & had not yet expanded out from their home region on the banks of the Tevere in Lazio. The interior of Neapolis is understatedly drop dead gorgeous dressed in dark woods, antique brass & lighting, greyish white marble bar tops. The whole darkened interior is Italianate Beaux Arts of the late 19th century. It is dignified & sumptuous at the same time. Pasadena, grande dame of the San Gabriel Valley since the last quarter of the 19th century, proves that even now by having & preserving amazingly classic buildings along the Colorado Boulevard littoral zone. Pasadena should be commended for not tearing down aesthetic structures from a past era that can never be replicated again. Craft Cocktail Class to Benefit Aids Service Center of Pasadena: Head Mixologist Kris Doyle was the driving force for this event where he showed us how to mix the perfect cocktail. Later after a light tasting menu paired w/4 cocktails, we could go up & have Kris help us personally to do a hands on lesson in cocktail mixing. Like a lesson in life, if we failed, we had to imbibe the«bitter» drink of our own making. We all assembled upstairs in an extra long dining room w/walls of solid brick & hardwood parquet flooring, which as ascetically monastic as it looked, reflected & magnified sounds made by the guests so that by the time the guests were feeling loose from the alcoholic libations, a 747 jet aircraft would have made less cacophony. 1) Tommy Margarita was paired w/Shrimp Ceviche. Citrus inflected, sweet Margarita was an excellent complement to the Lime/Lemon marinated Shrimp which tasted sweet, fresh w/a nice sea minerality. The lime/lemon juice slightly«cooked» the shrimp to a nice plumpy«snap» & meaty texture w/refreshing cilantro, diced onion. This was the best Shrimp Ceviche that I have ever had even counting in the Mexican & Peruvian restaurants that I have visited. 2) Signature Easton Cocktail was paired w/Heirloom Bruschetta. Neapolis signature cocktail consists of house-infused cucumber vodka, fresh lime, and mint. The cucumber bouquet is the major factor for this refreshingly, lightly sweetened drink. Chopped heirloom tomatoes w/a bit of soft, creamy Burrata was dressed w/a precious, well aged Aceto Balsamico de Modena on toasted Crostino. For me, this expensive, exquisite Aceto was too strong & heavy in flavour which disguised the fresh, tomato sweetness. Conceptually a great idea, but did not work out when it came to the proof-in-the-pudding. Perhaps less Aceto would have worked. 3) Classic Old Fashioned paired w/Beef Short Rib«Mini“Manwhich. «Old Fashioned is a cocktail made by muddling sugar w/bitters then adding alcohol, such as whiskey or brandy & a twist of citrus rind.» This drink is rather smoky, alcohol rich, & caramelized so it would go well w/the slow braised short rib w/its dark, thick, beef-meaty rich gravy. The short rib meat looks almost like pulled pork & is soft, velvety, plush in mouthfeel. A bit of arrugula w/a touch of bitterness & peanut oil fragrance is also inserted in between the toasted heavy, dense white English muffin shaped bread. Nice crispy, potatoey fries w/possibly Sriracha infused Aioli was good dipping sauce to the Pommes Frites. 4) Espresso Martini is an exceptionally tasty coffee centric dessert drink. The Galiano Espresso Liqueur has the most rich, smooth, dark coffee espresso taste that gives this«martini» a special elegant kick. The addition of heavy cream floating on top w/its sweet dairy scent & oily, creaminess put this dessert cocktail over the top. Bombolini which look like sugar coated donut holes had two sauces: thick chocolate Ganache & salted thick Sauce Caramel. The Salted Sauce Caramel really paired well w/the Bombolino. All in all, this Craft Cocktail Class was a success. The only problem was that the dining room was so long & narrow w/echoing hard surfaces, it was extremely difficult to hear what the Meister Mixologist was saying if you’re toward the foot of the long table. This made it so that people in the back who could not hear start to talk amongst themselves, compounding the hard-to-hear problem. Then ironically, these same people complained about not being able to hear what was being said. Next time, if possible, it would be more conducive if tables surrounded the bartending area so that most of the tables would be equidistant to the instructor thus allowing more people to hear what is being instructed. Considering this was a fundraiser for the Aids Service Center, a philanthropic organization w/a noble cause, I would rate this Neapolis event 4 Unilocal stars.

The décor and service of this place is great. The food on the other hand is flat average. Tries the dinela menu of the lobster aracinni(which was luke-warm(which is an average temperature) in the center. The seafood rosso was also average. Bacon bits had a bit of a twist but nothing special. Finally, the semifredo was just average. Tldr? Food is average nothing special.

Beautiful ambiance! Who can imagine this as a real estate office? First and foremost, I want to say that this restaurant is beautiful. It is comfortable, visually pleasing, not too loud, and intimate. It was once a very long and narrow real estate company and they have somehow transformed it into a two story restaurant. It is lovely. It was a very special occasion for us and we wanted try something new, close by. We were celebrating our anniversary as well as our son’s birthday. After reading many reviews, we decided to give it a try. Our waiter was excellent. He was knowledgeable and knew when to give us space, rather than push us to order. We started with cocktails and took our time looking over the menu. We are soup to nuts kind of diners and wanted to try a variety of things amongst us. For appetizers: we had Salumi Platter(a variety of cured meats and gnocchi fritti) this was excellent. We also had Arancini(crispy lobster arancini with mozzarella and sweet basil), also very good. Main Courses: I had the Tagliatelle and Clams. This was a bit disappointing. There were 5 small clams with little broth served with Tagliatelle pasta that seemed to be undercooked and stuck together. Unfortunate as I am giving up carbs as of today and wanted to go out with a bang. My husband had the Veal Scaloppini which he thoroughly enjoyed. Done to perfection. Our kids shared the Pizza Margherita. For a pizza which is so simple, it was below average. The crust was soggy and very thin. Very little mozzarella, a few strips of basil, and a lot of sauce. This pizza is done better in the small pizzeria that my daughter works in in Sierra Madre. No offense. Our wine was delicious. The desserts were excellent. We shared a Pear Tiramisu and Panna Cotta. They were light and refreshing. Definitely don’t miss the desserts. All in all we had a wonderful evening. Wonderful atmosphere and great company made this a memorable experience. Trattoria Neapolis is trying with all its might. Practically every hour of every day, they have a different menu: brunch, lunch, dinner, late night. Practically every day of the week, they have some kind of special — pizza Mondays, kids free Tuesdays, 50% corkage Wednesdays, Thursday lasagnas. This is the story of my Question for the Holy Coppa Pie. I visited one night for their Monday Pizza special where they advertise that you can have all the slices and salad you can eat for $ 14.95/person. Look, I like Trattoria Neapolis and I applaud how hard it tries to be a well-rounded neighborhood restaurant but my experience with the pizza night was totally laughable. I felt like we were the subject of a prank TV show. First off, it’s NOT all the slices and salad you can eat despite the advertisements. The two of us were allotted four 8″ pizza to share. It was wayy too much food so it’s not really a complaint about the portions. But, I think anyone would be peeved to know that there is a clear maximum of pizza so they should really just say so. Second, it was so totalitarian. There are four pizzas for the evening and the pizzas are baked and must be eaten in a specific order. For our night, we started with the spinach pie with onions, leading to the lamb with fennel, a wild mushroom for the third, and a coppa for the fourth. You cannot go out of order. It felt really restrictive, especially since they forced us to eat a lamb pie even though my friend hates lamb and two vegetarian pies before getting to the one we were most interested in, the coppa. Third, they don’t let you take leftovers home. With the two above restrictions, it’s practically impossible to get to pie #4. We kind of knew that we might have issues eating 4 pies so we tried asking them to bake two small individual pies. Instead, they baked ones that were 80% of the size of the regular pies and brought out TWO, which resulted in MORE food. The whole thing felt like they were conspiring against us to reach the unreachable Coppa Pie * angels singing* Also, the numerous restrictions do call into question the value of this special. If you can’t even take your food home and you can’t get what you want, is this worth it? By some grace of God, we made it to the end. Did I like the food? Yes, the arugula salad had a tart lemon vinaigrette and a ton of shaved Parmesan on top. The spinach pie had bland spinach on top but the coppa was great so were the mushrooms with fontina. Trattoria Neapolis really needs to rethink this format.

Everything on the«aperitivo»(Italian Happy Hour 3−6pm) menu are $ 5. Love it! Can’t comment on the other parts of the restaurants but I definitely recommend the happy hour menu!( ) We got the crafted cocktails: TOMMYMARGARITA(Tequila, Agave, Fresh Lime Juice) — light and sweet. No salt around the rim though. I don’t know my margaritas very well but I wished it was there. GOLDRUSH(Bourbon, Lemon, Honey) — definitely much stronger and the honey really sweetens the aftertaste. We also tried the mini wood burning oven pizza: BLOOMSDALESPINACH — Scallions, Feta, Gruyère, Parmigiano, Lemon Zest I thoroughly enjoy the flavor of the spinach on my feta cheese pizza. Oh man, and the sweet lemon-y aftertaste make this hot item both an appetizer and a dessert. When they say mini, they meant it. Hey, remember, this is a happy hour menu. It’s not dinner. SHORTRIBMANWICH(2 Mini Manwiches on House Focaccia) — they weren’t kidding when they said mini. I almost bit my finger along with the tiny sandwich. The meat was very tender and deliciously marinated, but I probably need 4 or 6 of these babies to satisfy my appetite. There’s something safe about everything $ 5. No extra hidden fee or charge. The waitress was very nice and courteous. She made us some recommendations and we are very satisfied with her choices. Will definitely come back again to try some of the other items.
